Delamar Southport Reviews
We ordered two appetizers, an entrée, and two glasses of wine—totaling $130—and were left very disappointed. The goat cheese dish was mostly salad with a tiny portion of cheese. The meatballs were marble-sized with an odd texture, and the pea ravioli had hard chunks inside—completely missing the mark for a dish that should be soft and melt in your mouth. Portions were small across the board. The waiter seemed rushed, inattentive, and unprofessional (even wearing saggy pants). Overall, the experience fell far below expectations.
May 18, 2025 · John PizzoferratoI have stayed at other Delamar properties, and this one fell short. For starters, if you book a “standard“ room there’s not a coffee maker in your room. (?!) I was not informed of this and found it extremely inconvenient. Is this a cost cutting measure? I have not stayed in a hotel room without a coffee maker, well maybe ever. When I asked the front desk upon checkout about this, they said they would have brought coffee to my room, but of course no one told me this when I checked in. The bed linens are nice, but the mattresses are firm. The TV is not a smart TV. Decor is less modern than other Delamar properties and could be updated. The location is right next to I 95. While the noise is minimal, the lack of amenities within walking distance of the hotel was disappointing. My meal at Artisan was quite good and the service very attentive there. I asked for a late check out of noon on my checkout day as I had a Spa appointment at the hotel at 12:30 and was firmly told 11:30 was the best they could do. Overall, the experience fell short.
Apr 04, 2025 · Laurel WiseFantastic hotel and restaurant. The rooms are gorgeous. Hotel was so nice to leave a complimentary bottle of Prosecco too on NYE. My only suggestion is they need to use much better pillows (theirs flatten out) and offer firmer foam pillows. The mattress was also super firm. This combination meant a poor night’s sleep
Jan 01, 2025 · Houman DeheshCheck in was terrible for my partner and I. Especially for me. My partner was the one treating me to stay at a place like this even though I insisted not to and the front desk was rather rude. I pick up body language quite easily and not to be playing any race cards but the black sir was very on top of me almost and every time I moved away from him he just crept closer like a creep. My partner tells me that all the times she’s visited here they’ve never treated her like this. And honestly if I’m ever invited or asked for recommendations/suggestions, nope, not here. Breakfast was great
Feb 20, 2025 · Alex RiveraThe WiFi is too slow to stream anything. Rooms are outdated. Room service menu is limited, very expensive and there’s multiple times of the day when you are unable to order anything at all.
