Bear Mountain Inn Reviews
Nice enough… Stayed here for a West Point reunion—class of 1950… our 96 year old grandfather. We had checked out, but had a couple of hours to kill before a dinner... in the hotel… where a room had been rented.Anyway, my sister laid down for a nap… quick bit of rest on the most secluded couch in the lobby…Staff approached her and told her… no. “It just doesn’t look…”Anyway, staff and management clearly value “the look” over “the customers” or “service”.Recommend new management, and thorough staff training in customer service and prioritization.
May 20, 2025 · Stuart WilsonBear Mountain Inn is a very historic place and staying there overnight is something real special. We loved everything about our stay. Everybody who works here is so attentive and they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The lady serving at the hikers cafe didn’t seem to like her job so much and 6 $ for one tiny cube of ice cream is a bit pricy also for the quality provided. But that’s just a minor issue. The rooms, the view the whole area is beautiful für family, couple and even single booking.
Apr 29, 2025 · Anna WagnerStayed here for a friend’s wedding. The bridal party rented out multiple cottages. The rooms were not great for the price. We had 2 disturbances in our common room from employees before 10am while getting ready. One of the cottages did not have heat the first night. It also snowed heavily overnight and none of the walkways were shoveled nor parking lots plowed. On the day of the wedding the bridal party needed to meet at the inn for pictures. Because of the nature of the weather I entered the parking lot a different way and not their designated entrance. I was chased down by a woman in a minivan telling me that I needed to turn around and go through the main entrance and pay for a parking pass if I was staying at the inn. I explain that I had already obtained a parking pass for the cottage that I was staying at and was only here to do pictures for the bridal party explaining that this was now holding me up and making me late, thus holding up the entire bridal party shoot. She made me go through the main entrance and when passing through the booth the worker asked for my room number which I did not know off the top off my head but I handed her my literal parking pass I had already obtained. After nearly 5 minutes of confusion and signing a list that was much too short for the amount of cars in that lot I was finally let through to park and run to take pictures. The entirety of the situation created much more stress and slowed down the process of the already time-strenuous wedding day.
Feb 22, 2025 · Corey MenzingerWe have been coming to Bear Mountain for a decade now and staying at the Overlook Lodge. It is a lovely lodge nestled in the mountain overlooking Hessian Lake. There is so much history in the area and beauty. The accommodations are basic, but for the price more than satisfactory. The staff is kind and helpful. We have seen it come through out of the pandemic and they have made improvements. We love it here and encourage people to support this iconic landmark.
Feb 17, 2025 · Priya WBear mountain is an amazing picnic spot. We plan at least one picnic, here, every summer. Zoo, boating, hiking trail, walking trail, bbq area, museum, fresh drinking water. It's just complete. Your kids will be thrilled. Also there's a snack shop so take some cash with you if you have kids. 😂Management staff is very efficient and cooperative. However, the restrooms are a BIG NOOO. I'd rather hold my pee for 6 hours. In one word "Filthy".
