Days Inn by Wyndham Wayne Introduce
For those of us in New Jersey, or even visitors from out of state looking for a place to stay in the northern part of our beautiful state, finding suitable accommodation often comes down to balancing convenience, cost, and comfort. In the bustling area of Wayne, one option that frequently appears on the radar is the Days Inn by Wyndham Wayne. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and informative overview of this hotel, drawing upon publicly available information and real customer feedback to help local users understand what to expect. While we always strive for a positive portrayal, it's important to provide a factual account to ensure you, our fellow New Jersey residents, can make an informed decision for your travel needs.
The Days Inn by Wyndham Wayne operates as a budget-friendly lodging option under the well-known Wyndham Hotels & Resorts brand. As part of a large chain, it generally aims to provide essential comforts and conveniences at an accessible price point, catering to travelers who prioritize affordability and a straightforward stay over luxury amenities. It’s important to note that hotels in this category, particularly those with a long operational history, can sometimes show signs of wear and tear, and guest experiences can vary. However, for many travelers, a budget-friendly option that serves as a convenient base for exploring the area or attending local events is exactly what's needed. The hotel's existence in Wayne suggests it aims to fill a specific niche in the local hospitality market, offering a practical solution for a diverse range of guests, from business travelers on a tight budget to families attending nearby gatherings. Understanding its position as an economy hotel within a major brand helps frame expectations for potential visitors from our New Jersey community.
One of the most significant advantages of the Days Inn by Wyndham Wayne is its highly accessible location, particularly for those traveling by car. The hotel is conveniently situated at 1850 NJ-23, Wayne, NJ 07470, USA. Route 23 is a major state highway in New Jersey, providing direct access to various towns, business centers, and recreational areas in Passaic County and beyond. This makes the Days Inn a practical choice for visitors looking to explore northern New Jersey, attend events at nearby venues, or commute to businesses in the surrounding areas.
Its direct frontage on Route 23 means it’s very easy to spot and access from the highway, reducing navigation challenges. For those driving, the location simplifies travel to attractions like William Paterson University, Willowbrook Mall, and various corporate parks in Wayne and neighboring towns like Fairfield, Lincoln Park, and Pequannock. While public transportation options might be less direct for a hotel directly on a highway like Route 23, the ample parking available (though some reviews mention the need for repaving, indicating a functional if not pristine parking area) makes it ideal for guests traveling with their own vehicles. This strategic positioning ensures that guests have a straightforward route to their destinations, minimizing travel time and maximizing convenience, which is a key consideration for many visitors to our busy New Jersey region.
As a budget-friendly hotel operating under the Days Inn brand, the Days Inn by Wyndham Wayne typically offers a set of core services designed to provide essential comfort and convenience for guests. While specific amenities can vary and are subject to change, the standard offerings often include:
Guest Rooms with Basic Amenities: The hotel provides individual guest rooms equipped with standard amenities such as a private bathroom, television, and climate control. These rooms are designed to offer a place to sleep and refresh for travelers.
Complimentary Wi-Fi: Most Days Inn locations, including this one, offer free Wi-Fi access in guest rooms and common areas, allowing guests to stay connected for work or leisure.
Complimentary Breakfast (Continental Style): A common offering at Days Inn properties is a complimentary continental breakfast. As noted in customer reviews, the quality and consistency of this service can vary, with some guests experiencing issues with restocking of items like coffee cups. However, the intention is to provide a quick and easy start to the day.
Parking: The hotel provides on-site parking for guests. While a review mentioned the need for repaving, indicating its condition, the availability of parking is a crucial service for guests traveling by car.
24-Hour Front Desk Service: A 24-hour front desk is standard for most hotels, ensuring that guests can check in or out at any time and receive assistance with basic inquiries or issues.
Pet-Friendly Options (Check for availability and fees): Some Days Inn locations are pet-friendly, though this usually requires advance notification and may involve additional fees. It's always best to confirm directly with the hotel if traveling with pets.
Accessibility Features: In compliance with ADA regulations, the hotel should offer accessible rooms and features for guests with disabilities.
It is important for prospective guests to directly contact the hotel for the most current information on services and amenities, especially given varied customer feedback on specific offerings.
The Days Inn by Wyndham Wayne, while a budget-conscious option, possesses certain features and characteristics that, depending on a traveler's priorities, can be considered highlights. These aspects are often what guests look for when choosing an economical stay.
Strategic Location on Route 23: Its primary highlight is undoubtedly its direct access to and visibility from NJ-23. This makes it an incredibly convenient base for anyone needing quick transit through or around the Wayne area, whether for business appointments, family visits, or accessing local attractions like shopping centers or universities.
Affordable Price Point: For many travelers, the most significant "feature" is its budget-friendly pricing. This makes it an accessible option for those on a tight travel budget, extended stays where cost is a major factor, or quick overnight trips where elaborate amenities are not a priority.
Part of the Wyndham Network: Being a Wyndham property offers some level of brand recognition and a promise of basic standards. Guests who are part of the Wyndham Rewards program can also earn or redeem points here, which is a valuable perk for loyal customers.
Functional Accommodation for Short Stays: For guests who simply need a place to sleep and shower, the hotel provides functional, albeit basic, accommodations. It serves its purpose as a no-frills place to rest.
Proximity to Local Destinations: Its location makes it a practical choice for visiting William Paterson University, Willowbrook Mall, and various businesses in Wayne and surrounding towns, making it suitable for a range of travel purposes beyond just leisure.
Potential for Improvement: While some reviews highlight areas needing attention (like maintenance and cleanliness), for some, this could also be seen as potential for the hotel to undergo renovations and upgrades, which would significantly enhance the guest experience in the future.
It is crucial for potential guests to align their expectations with the hotel's budget-friendly nature and to consider the recent customer feedback regarding maintenance and cleanliness when evaluating these features.
As part of the large Wyndham Hotels & Resorts chain, the Days Inn by Wyndham Wayne frequently participates in system-wide promotions and special offers, which can be beneficial for guests looking for value. While specific deals can vary based on the season, booking window, and current marketing campaigns, typical promotions include:
Wyndham Rewards Member Discounts: Guests who are members of the complimentary Wyndham Rewards loyalty program often receive exclusive discounted rates when booking directly through Wyndham channels. This is a common and ongoing "promotion" across all Wyndham brands.
Advance Purchase Rates: Booking well in advance can often unlock lower, non-refundable rates for those whose travel plans are firm.
Stay Longer, Save More: Sometimes, hotels offer reduced rates for extended stays (e.g., 3 nights or more), which can be particularly attractive for business travelers or those visiting family in the area for a longer duration.
Seasonal Promotions: Wyndham often runs seasonal sales (e.g., summer savings, holiday deals) that apply across its portfolio, including Days Inn properties. These can offer percentage discounts or bonus points.
AAA/AARP Discounts: Members of organizations like AAA or AARP typically qualify for special discounted rates at Days Inn properties.
Military and Government Rates: Special rates are usually available for active military personnel, veterans, and government employees.
To find the most current and relevant promotions, we strongly advise checking the official Wyndham Hotels & Resorts website (wyndhamhotels.com), specifically for the Days Inn by Wyndham Wayne, or contacting the hotel directly. Promotional offers are dynamic and can change frequently, so direct inquiry is the best way to secure the best available rate for your stay.

It is always recommended to call the hotel directly, especially if you have specific questions regarding room availability, amenities, pet policies, or to address any concerns you might have after reading reviews. Speaking directly with the front desk staff can provide the most current and personalized information. This is particularly important given some of the feedback on staff responsiveness.
For us, the local residents of New Jersey, or those visiting our great state with specific needs and expectations, assessing the suitability of a hotel like the Days Inn by Wyndham Wayne requires a practical and candid perspective. This hotel, positioned as a budget-friendly option, can indeed be suitable for certain types of stays, particularly when understanding its core offerings and limitations based on public feedback.
Its most compelling advantage for locals is its highly accessible location directly on Route 23 in Wayne. For those attending family gatherings, visiting William Paterson University, or needing a convenient base for business in the Passaic County area, the Days Inn offers unparalleled ease of access. When the priority is minimizing travel time to a specific local destination and securing an overnight stay without breaking the bank, this hotel fits the bill. It's the kind of place you might consider if you're traveling a short distance for an early morning event or a late-night function and simply need a place to rest your head.
The "budget-priced for good reason" sentiment expressed in a review is a crucial takeaway. This hotel is designed for practicality and affordability. It provides the fundamental necessities: a bed, a bathroom, and a roof over your head. For travelers who are "not hotel snobs" and understand that a lower price point often means fewer frills and potentially some signs of wear, the Days Inn by Wyndham Wayne serves its purpose. It's suitable for single travelers, construction workers, or families attending local events who prioritize cost savings over luxury amenities or a pristine environment.
However, it's also important for locals to be aware of the feedback regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and staff responsiveness. While these are areas that clearly need improvement, for a very short, functional stay, some guests may find the trade-off acceptable given the price. It's the kind of place where you know you're getting a bed for the night, and if your expectations are calibrated to that reality, it can serve its purpose. It’s not a destination hotel for a luxurious getaway, but rather a functional stopover.
In conclusion, the Days Inn by Wyndham Wayne is suitable for New Jersey locals and visitors who are primarily seeking an extremely budget-conscious lodging option with excellent highway access in Wayne. It serves as a practical, no-frills base for those whose travel needs prioritize affordability and location above extensive amenities, pristine conditions, or high-end service. For a brief, functional stay when you just need a place to sleep near your local destination, and you manage your expectations accordingly, it can be a viable choice.

Days Inn by Wyndham Wayne Reviews
The overall condition of the place is appalling. The most shocking part was the amount of trash piled up in the hallways—bags of garbage and waste clearly left there for days. Walking to the room felt like going through an indoor landfill. Absolutely unacceptable.Breakfast was just as frustrating: there were no cups for coffee, and even after requesting more than once, nothing was restocked. The staff seemed completely indifferent to the needs of the guests. If you’re looking for a clean and well-kept place to stay, this is not it. It desperately needs a deep cleaning, a full renovation, and a team that actually cares. I wouldn’t recommend it under any circumstances.
Jun 01, 2025 · UNO GROUP DESIGN STUDIOI am not a "hotel snob"... so take this for what it's worth. Staff was reasonably friendly and helpful, but the hotel itself had seen better days. Much wear and tear, the parking lot needs repaving. No real ambiance. My reason for chosing this hotel- it was a mile from the family gathering I was attending on Easter. Honestly, this facility is budget priced for good reason.
Apr 22, 2025 · Glenn PetersonA decent and inexpensive option for a mountain bike overnight stay for my husband and me. It's not fancy, but then it's not very expensive either. I was a little scared by the negative reviews, but we didn't see any of those mentioned problems. The property does extend back and we were close to reception area so perhaps rooms are better in some places than others?PROS: good water pressure & hot water, clean, larger sized mini-fridge, microwave, quiet a/c and heat, adequate simple breakfast, close to some good mountain biking, room big enough for bicycles, ok assortment of TV channels although not a smart TVCONS: bed linens a bit pilled, king size bed was comfortable but slightly sagged in one spot, towel count should equal guests (we had 2 bath towels but only 1 wash cloth), things were clean but a few details cold be improved (bath caulk refreshed, bath exhaust grill showed some rust, a wall picture was missing, a wall light constantly flickered so we didn't use it)
May 22, 2025 · Erin Baker FunkChecking in was fine, Checking out had a male person without any person. No good morning, or thank you. Didn't even offer to give me a receipt when asked for he has no face expression.Breakfast could better, no waffles.
Apr 27, 2025 · AlexI wish I could give zero stars for this place. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that this hotel is an absolute dump. There were people sleeping in the check-in area, which was incredibly uncomfortable. The property itself is filthy and falling apart. Trash was piled up high in the hallways, clearly left uncollected for far too long. The entire place felt neglected and rundown.Breakfast was another disaster—there were no coffee cups, and despite asking twice for a refill, nothing was restocked. It felt like the staff simply didn’t care.If you’re looking for a clean, well-maintained place to stay—look elsewhere. This place is in desperate need of renovation, better management, and basic cleanliness. Avoid at all costs!
