Whether you're a New Jersey local preparing for an early morning flight, a business traveler in need of a comfortable base, or welcoming out-of-state guests, the choice of airport hotel can significantly impact the overall travel experience. The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark Airport, with its distinctive DoubleTree cookie welcome, presents itself as a stylish and functional option in the bustling EWR corridor. It’s designed to provide a seamless transition for travelers, offering a range of services aimed at making your stay as smooth as possible.
This article will provide a detailed overview of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark Airport, covering its strategic location, array of services, and notable features. We will also touch upon promotions and contact information to help you plan your visit effectively. Our goal is to offer a factual and engaging description, empowering you to make an informed decision for your next stay or for guiding your guests to a suitable accommodation near one of New Jersey’s most vital transportation hubs.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark Airport enjoys an advantageous location that is particularly beneficial for air travelers. Situated at 128 Frontage Rd, Newark, NJ 07114, USA, the hotel is directly adjacent to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). This prime position is its most significant accessibility feature, enabling incredibly quick transfers to and from airport terminals.
For those flying, the hotel offers a complimentary 24-hour roundtrip airport shuttle service, which runs frequently and connects guests directly to EWR. This service is a major convenience, eliminating the need for taxis or ride-shares for airport transfers and reducing the stress associated with airport logistics. Guests can access the AirTrain at P4 from the airport terminals, which connects to the hotel shuttle.
Drivers will find the hotel easily accessible from major highways, as Frontage Road provides direct connections to the network serving EWR. This makes it a practical choice for individuals traveling by car from various parts of New Jersey or neighboring states. The hotel provides on-site self-parking for a fee, and also has electric vehicle (EV) charging stations available, catering to modern travel needs. However, it’s important for local users to note that, similar to other airport hotels on Frontage Road, the immediate vicinity is predominantly industrial and geared towards airport operations. This means that there are very few, if any, walkable dining, shopping, or entertainment options directly outside the hotel. Guests should plan to utilize the hotel's amenities, delivery services, or the shuttle/vehicle for venturing out to other parts of Newark or beyond. Despite the somewhat isolated immediate surroundings, the hotel's excellent connectivity to major roads and the airport ensures that the broader attractions of Newark, such as the Prudential Center (approximately 3.1 miles away), and even New York City (around 10 miles away), are within a reasonable driving distance.

Firstly, its unparalleled proximity to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is a massive advantage. For New Jersey locals facing early morning flights, late-night arrivals, or connecting journeys, the convenience of a 24-hour complimentary shuttle service directly to and from the terminals significantly reduces travel stress. This allows for more relaxed departures and arrivals, avoiding the anxieties of traffic or distant parking. For families embarking on vacations or individuals on critical business trips, this ease of access is invaluable.
Secondly, the hotel serves as an excellent accommodation option for hosting visiting friends, family, or business associates arriving via EWR. Instead of navigating city traffic to pick up guests, locals can easily direct them to the DoubleTree, where they can settle in comfortably after their flight. This arrangement benefits both the host and the guest by streamlining the arrival process and providing immediate comfort.
Furthermore, while not a destination in itself for a leisure stay detached from travel, the hotel's amenities enhance the overall experience for locals in specific situations. The indoor pool offers a chance to relax or entertain children before a flight. The fitness center provides a space to maintain routines, and the on-site dining options mean guests don't have to venture out into an unfamiliar area for food, which is particularly convenient given the hotel's immediate surroundings. The positive remarks about comfortable beds and responsive staff also contribute to a reliable and pleasant stay.
In conclusion, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark Airport is perfectly tailored for the logistical needs of New Jersey residents and their guests who interact with EWR. It provides a comfortable, convenient, and amenity-rich environment designed to make airport-related travel as smooth and stress-free as possible. Its value lies in its strategic location and its commitment to offering practical services that directly address the specific requirements of airport travelers, making it a highly suitable and often preferred choice for locals.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark Airport Reviews
⭐ Rating: 3/5I stayed at this stylish New York City hotel recently and while it has serious curb appeal with its modern interiors and spotless rooms, there was one big letdown—no balcony, even though I booked a “balcony room.” That was a real disappointment. The overall ambiance was sleek and inviting, but the customer service felt a bit underwhelming and lacked the attentiveness you’d expect from a hotel in this price range. It has potential, but definitely needs improvement on the service front to match the visual appeal.Would I return? Probably not. But if you’re just looking for a clean, aesthetically pleasing place to crash without the bells and whistles (or a balcony!), it might still work for you.
May 31, 2025 · Sue DorisPublic areas are fairly recently renovated. On arriving, as a status member with Hilton, I had a room which was a corner, which I am, assuming was an upgrade; however, when I walked in and opened the door to the bathroom and immediately hit me with a huge smell of mildew. I then tried to chat them through the app and it took over 15 minutes before I just decided to take all my stuff back downstairs to try to get a new room. They were helpful at the front desk and did give me a new room. What I found in the room was the following… No space for refrigerator so it’s out in the floor area to the right of the dresser. The outlets next to the bed did not work at all so in the morning when I woke up, my phone was almost dead. The bathrooms were decent sized, although you could tell they had done a lipstick on a pig for the cabinets. Very old need to be renovated. In the morning, they gave me a free voucher for the breakfast… Which I technically didn’t need because of status I get that for free but… Went down to the bistro where some of the staff basically don’t know about service. They weren’t discourteous -they just weren’t overly helpful. as an airport hotel, I guess this is to be somewhat expected. I just stayed at three Doubletree in a row, and this was by far the least in terms of overall experience
May 15, 2025 · Michele WendellThis place is 3 stars for good reason. It should definitely be lower.[And watch, a hotel employee is going to jump on here and give a remarkably phony apology, just as is done with all the other bad reviews, yet... not a single remedy will be made. Why? Because the hotel staff and management here DO NOT CARE. If they did, most of these poor reviews would not be here. The same problems persist and persist and persist. Phony apology. ]If you have any self-respect, you will NOT do business with this hotel. As a company, we will never again subject our employees or clients to such a poor, lame duck hotel as this, ever again. We actually had to apologize to our employees for their experience here, and we immediately aborted 32 fourteen day reservations for the next incoming set of team members. If you are wanting to provide a positive living arrangement for either clients, employees or friends, or family, you should NOT do business with this hotel. You've been warned.‐---------------------------------------------------------------------------* Response to manager reply below -As predicted, a representative for this hotel has swooped in to brush off accountability.Read what i said. We ABORTED making the reservations for our incoming groups, which were going to be 14 personal on May 20th, 10 personal on June 1st and 8 HSE personal on June 18th.We WERE going to make those reservations, but decided against it due to our present employees experience. You never got the chance to see those reservations, and you never will. The fact that you have jumped on here and given you cookie cutter dismissal only serves to verify my complaints, which have clearly fallen on def ears.
May 16, 2025 · Lord Of A FlyWe had an early morning flight and since all the airport hotels (even Marriott) require a shuttle, I booked the cheapest one using points (equivalent of about $115 all included). The shuttle (holds 9-10 passengers) picks up at P4 off the AirTrain and ran consistently about every 25 minutes (we just missed the first one), and is a 7-10 minute ride each way. The morning return also team on time at top of the hour and half the hour. Actually the inside looks modern and remodeled and is very open and nice. Nothing nearby you can walk to other than the excellent Ted's bar and grill next door at Holiday Inn. The rooms are modern and nice with free coffee and good Crabtree & Evelyn bathroom products. The small bathroom unfortunately is from the 80s and pretty beat up. The shower is hot but the faucet is mounted at under 5 feet so prepare to crouch. Big comfortable bed with amusingly small (but comfortable) pillows. Free Chocolate chip cookies (including allergy free variety) at front desk. No free breakfast. Overall this was a great airport hotel and a good value.
Mar 25, 2025 · Jason ZahnThe hotel is nice and updated, the rooms were clean. You can hear the person next door, I was hearing this guy the entire time I was there, i would heard when he went to the bathroom or talking in the phone. There’s no restaurants or stores walking distance so you have to uber for sure, there’s the Mills mall 15 mins car ride from the hotel. The food is fine, the customer service is fine too, at check out there were 5 ladies talking for a couple of minutes , not sure is the system was working, but after that one look up to me and help me out. Overall it was a fine hotel for the price, and of course the cookies at the check in are always a plus.
