Gun Hill R/C Off Road Track Introduce
The Gun Hill R/C Off Road Track, situated at 3472 Bronx Blvd, Bronx, NY 10467, USA, stands as a specialized "Scenic Spot" within The Bronx, catering to a niche yet passionate community of remote control (R/C) vehicle enthusiasts. Unlike traditional parks designed for general passive recreation or aesthetic enjoyment, this location serves as a dedicated arena for the dynamic hobby of R/C racing and bashing. Its designation as a "Scenic Spot" on a platform highlights its specific appeal as a destination for individuals seeking a unique form of outdoor recreation and a place to engage in their specialized hobby. The track's presence in The Bronx provides a much-needed, accessible venue for local R/C car and drone operators who might otherwise lack a suitable space for their activities.
The environment of the Gun Hill R/C Off Road Track is characterized by its purpose-built design for remote control vehicles. It is an outdoor dirt track, specifically configured with jumps, turns, and various obstacles typical of off-road R/C circuits. While the primary function dictates the environment, it is also noted by users to offer a "quiet" atmosphere, which is a valuable quality for any outdoor recreational space within an urban setting. However, current user reviews indicate that the track's condition requires attention. The dirt itself needs "care and organization," suggesting issues with compaction, loose material, or uneven surfaces that could impact vehicle performance. Furthermore, there is mention of "additional debris on the track" and a general need for "a good cleaning and new tubing," referring to the plastic piping or barriers that define the track's edges. The surrounding area also needs maintenance, with "the grass needs some cutting too." Despite these maintenance concerns, the core environment for R/C activities remains functional, allowing users to "still run your RC there." The presence of open space for "drone flying" further expands the environmental utility, catering to another popular remote-controlled hobby. The photos taken by a regular user, even two weeks prior to their review, would likely depict a well-used, albeit somewhat unkempt, dirt track amidst some natural growth, serving its intended purpose for the R/C community.
As a "Scenic Spot" for R/C enthusiasts, the services offered by Gun Hill R/C Off Road Track are primarily those that facilitate the hobby. The most direct service is providing a dedicated, accessible space for individuals to operate their R/C cars and trucks. This includes a track specifically designed for off-road R/C vehicles, offering the necessary terrain for both "racers and bashers to practice." The distinction between racers (who focus on speed and competitive lines) and bashers (who enjoy more freestyle, durable running) indicates the track's versatility in accommodating different R/C styles. The allowance for "drone flying" signifies an expansion of services beyond just ground vehicles, making it a multi-faceted recreational spot for remote-controlled hobbies. While there is no mention of formal on-site services like R/C rentals, repairs, or concession stands, the core service is the provision of the physical infrastructure itself. The implied service also includes the maintenance (or, as noted, the need for maintenance) of this infrastructure to ensure a consistent and enjoyable experience. For local users, this track offers a crucial service by providing a sanctioned and suitable area, preventing individuals from having to use unsuitable public spaces or private property. The "no stress environment" described by a user is also a significant, albeit intangible, service, fostering a relaxed atmosphere for hobbyists to enjoy their passion.
The features of the Gun Hill R/C Off Road Track are specifically tailored to its function. The most prominent feature is the off-road dirt track itself, designed with elements like jumps and turns that challenge R/C drivers. The "tubing" along the track edges serves as a boundary and a safety feature, guiding vehicles and preventing them from straying too far. The open space beyond the immediate track area is a valuable feature for drone pilots, allowing for unhindered flight. The fact that users can "run what you brung" implies a welcoming and inclusive feature, allowing individuals to use their own diverse range of R/C vehicles without strict limitations on specific models or classes, a common feature in community-oriented R/C spots. The quietness of the location, as noted by a regular visitor, is another appealing feature, especially for those seeking a tranquil hobby experience away from the noise of typical urban recreation. While the current condition indicates some disrepair, the underlying structure of the track, with its layout and obstacles, remains its defining characteristic. The track serves as a focal point for informal gatherings of R/C enthusiasts, fostering a sense of community around a shared interest. The casual and accessible nature, allowing people to visit "regularly. During the week and on weekends," speaks to its flexible accessibility as a key feature.
Promotional information for the Gun Hill R/C Off Road Track primarily spreads through word-of-mouth within the R/C community and through online forums or social media groups dedicated to the hobby in the greater New York City area. Enthusiasts actively seek out dedicated spaces like this, and positive (or even constructively critical) reviews serve as direct promotional content. The fact that it's a known spot for "racers and bashers" immediately promotes its versatility. The "no stress environment" is a powerful selling point for a hobby that can sometimes be intense. Even mentions of its current condition, while noting areas for improvement, implicitly promote its existence and functionality for those willing to visit. The phrase "you can still run your RC there" acts as an assurance that despite needed maintenance, the core offering is intact. For local users, the convenience of having a dedicated R/C track within The Bronx is a significant draw, eliminating the need to travel long distances for their hobby. The visual proof provided by user-submitted photos also serves as a direct form of promotion, allowing prospective visitors to see the track for themselves. While there might not be formal marketing campaigns, its organic promotion within the R/C community highlights its value as an accessible and dedicated public space for this specific form of outdoor recreation.

Gun Hill R/C Off Road Track Reviews
I go there regularly. During the week and on weekends. The track is fun but it’s not in great condition at the moment. The dirt needs care and organization also there is additional debris on the track , the track just needs a good cleaning and new tubing. The grass needs some cutting too. Aside from that you can still run your RC there. It’s quiet also and that’s nice! These pics I took a two weeks ago.

Aug 29, 2017 · Kevin SemajThank you to the original creators of this track. I'm grateful for it no matter the condition.
Mar 20, 2023 · Odin (Liam) WrightLooks amazing. I only happened by here looking at the Bronx River which is interestingly nearby and wondered what this was. I was here for a tree planting at Rosewood Playground organized by the Bronx River Alliance. There are two entrances (fortunately) as a stairway entrance is blocked off with barricades.
