Hampton Inn & Suites Staten Island Introduce
For New Yorkers, especially those on Staten Island or looking for a convenient and reliable base when visiting the borough, the Hampton Inn & Suites Staten Island offers a familiar and often well-regarded lodging option. As part of the extensive Hilton brand family, this hotel generally aims to provide a consistent and comfortable experience for its guests, whether they're in town for business, visiting family, or exploring the unique charm of Staten Island and its connections to the rest of New York City.
When considering a stay on Staten Island, many locals appreciate the value and amenities that a trusted brand like Hampton Inn & Suites can provide. From the complimentary breakfast to the promise of a quiet night's sleep, the hotel positions itself as a dependable choice. While experiences can vary, as with any popular establishment, the goal is always to deliver a welcoming environment that makes your stay as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
The Hampton Inn & Suites Staten Island is strategically located at 1120 South Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314, USA. This address places it in a prime spot within Staten Island, offering excellent accessibility for both local New Yorkers and visitors arriving from elsewhere. South Avenue is a key artery on the island, providing straightforward connections to various parts of the borough.
For those driving, the hotel's location offers easy access to major roadways on Staten Island, including the West Shore Expressway (Route 440) and the Staten Island Expressway (I-278). These highways connect seamlessly to the Goethals Bridge, Bayonne Bridge, and Outerbridge Crossing, providing convenient routes to mainland New Jersey. For travel within New York City, the Staten Island Expressway leads directly to the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, offering access to Brooklyn and the rest of NYC's boroughs. Ample on-site parking is typically available, a significant advantage for those with vehicles in a city environment.

The ferry ride itself offers spectacular views of the Statue of Liberty and the New York City skyline.
The immediate vicinity of the hotel on South Avenue typically offers a mix of commercial establishments, including dining options and retail, ensuring guests have convenient access to necessities and entertainment. The quiet nature of the location, as noted by some guests, provides a welcome respite from the usual city noise while remaining well-connected.

Hampton Inn & Suites Staten Island Reviews
We always stay at a Hilton Brand Hotel, because the quality is consistent throughout the chain of Hotels. We particularly enjoyed our 5 day 4 night stay here. Breakfast was consistently good each morning, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the location was quiet and hard to beat! The decor in the lobby is actually pretty enchanting, so much to look at. Horses is the theme and the decor is quite varied and nice to look at. Our room was also quiet even though the hotel was quite packed (families and workers and business guests) so it was really nice that the hotel was not noisy even with a big guest occupant count. Our room could use a little attention to wallpaper repair but really that’s just cosmetics not an issue of cleanliness or function. We will definitely stay here again in the future.
May 30, 2025 · Sugar Creek CottageDO NOT STAY HERE – RUINED OUR FAMILY TRIPIf I could give zero stars, I would. I booked our stay at this hotel over two months ago, traveling from out of state with my family, including two special needs children. Upon check-in, we were casually informed that the hotel was overbooked and we would not be getting the room we reserved. No apology. No accountability. Just a cold, disinterested front desk clerk who clearly could not care less.Instead of the proper accommodations we booked, we were given one less bed and a flimsy portable bed that I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy. Calling it a mattress is generous—it’s more like a medieval torture device. The hotel basically left one of us essentially sleeping on metal bars. And of course, because it’s a holiday weekend, all other hotels in the area are fully booked, so we’re stuck—with crying kids, no sleep, and zero support from staff. We’re Hilton Honors members, which apparently means nothing at this location. Absolutely no effort was made to make it right—not even a basic apology. This has been an absolute nightmare.Hampton Inn- Hilton, you should be ashamed.
May 25, 2025 · Karina LevenzonVery average stay, the hotel had a distinct smell throughout it. My room smelled like cigarettes even though it’s a non smoking hotel. The continental breakfast was missing a lot of basics. The oatmeal was extremely runny. The hotel was outdated. Served its purpose because I needed to stay on Staten Island for work.
May 22, 2025 · Samara HalpernNice room, interesting room service. Gave us a random amount of towels and rags whenever they came. Also kept forgetting to refill stuff we asked them about directly multiple times. TV was also very weirdly placed, extremely old and dim. Only options were cable or buying $20 movies. Didnt rlly care ab that tho bc we were lit lol. “Queens” also didnt look like queen beds like at all, more like fulls. In a nice area of Staten island, good food pharmacy and stuff nearby. Free breakfast too. Would recommend if you dont plan to be in your hotel a lot for anything other than sleeping and washing up.
Apr 18, 2025 · Rochelle DouglasWe stayed here in April for 2 nights. We had 2 interconnecting rooms between the 4 of us. The rooms were as expected, we just needed a place to sleep and this ticked the box. Nothing special. We did have to ring the front desk to ask them to clean our shower area. Looked like workmen had been to fix something and left a mess, but to their credit they sent someone up quite quickly and they cleaned it while we went out for dinner. Motel was located in a nice area in Staten Island and close to shops and a big Mall. It was also a good base for NYC, as we managed a day trip to Manhattan; parked in the SI Ferry car park and took the Ferry over. Breakfast was lovely, with teas and coffees available at anytime in the lobby area.
