Harbor Island Park Reviews
Gorgeous park with a nice variety of water fowl. Playground was large and clean. Same with the baseball fields. As we walked around we found a little beach that was empty except for one family. We also found swinging chairs big enough for 2 or 3 people. Really cute park and it's a nice walk/workout when the weather is nice. Just 2 blocks away is street parking and a nice assortment of restaurants. We went to DonJito and enjoyed the food and drinks (highly recommend).
May 28, 2025 · KrysThis local park truly has it all! The beach is open during the summer, offering a perfect spot for relaxation and recreation. Throughout the season, the town hosts lively community events—check the schedule at the bulletin board by the beach entrance or visit the Village of Mamaroneck’s website for details. The park also offers a variety of public classes, including yoga by the beach, strength training, and guided programs for kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding.
May 13, 2025 · Wasmiya TanA beautiful 40+ acre park with stunning views of the marina, a playground, and adult swings. There are plenty of activities for kids and adults alike. There is a shack that sells fishing bait and gears. A Marine Education Center is also located in the park. Stephen E Johnson Beach charges US$13 for adults, US$8 for children, and US$6 for seniors when the beach is open for swimming. It is now closed for swimming until the Summer 2025 Beach Season. However, you can walk along the beach when the gate to the beach is open. It's a great place for a picnic, a stroll, walking the dog, or simply admiring the scenery. There is plenty of paid parking and for those taking the train, the park is about a 15-minute walk from the Mamaroneck train station.
Oct 13, 2024 · William HoLet me begin by saying this park is clean, you don't see any trash. Only thing you see is poop from the geese. You don't need to be a village resident to visit however there's is a $12 for the parking and $13 to access the beach. Pro tip, is cheaper to park outside and use the meters, is a very short walk into the park. Park is quiet and relaxing, no loud music and dog friendly. You can truly relax watch the boats go by. Definitely worth visiting is your in the area. There's a nice playground aswell.
Jul 14, 2024 · Mikeyy LunarezzThis review is only for the playground and the little beach. The playground is a wonderful place, at first glance. My 2 and 4 yo were super excited, and I loved that for them. Truly it is a great playground, however, things are falling apart, wooden slats are coming off, nails are exposed, to the point of being unsafe and could lead to injury. I’m not from the neighborhood/westchester area and do not know who to report this to, but parents be very mindful, or tell your caregivers to be mindful of the children playing in this playground. When we went to the beach (on Aug 16th), we were told the beach was completely closed due to high levels of bacteria, but still proceeded to charge us money to enter the beach. It’s too bad since the beach itself, albeit small, felt nice, but with the high levels of bacteria, I can’t help but think the sand must be extremely dirty. Anyhow the sprinklers next to the beach were fun so that was a pretty good alternatively to water access.
