Jerry Portmann Park

458 Ridge Rd, North Arlington, NJ 07031, USA

5.0
Jerry Portman Park is a very nice little passive park located on Ridge Road. As with all passive parks, this is not one of those places you would find a playground, basketball court, ballfields, etcetera. It is simply a place where walkers can catch a few minutes of rest on the four benches present. One thing I find missing from here is a plaque commemorative of Mr. Portman, letting people know who he was or is, and his contributions to the Boro. - Burt Shoobs

    Promotions or Special Offers

As a small, passive community park managed by the Borough of North Arlington, Jerry Portmann Park does not typically offer commercial promotions, discounts, or special events in the way larger recreational parks or businesses might. Its primary "offer" is the consistent provision of a free and accessible public space for quiet enjoyment.

However, locals can benefit from the park in these inherent ways:

    • Free Access: The most significant benefit is that the park is entirely free to access for all members of the public during its operating hours. This provides a cost-free opportunity for relaxation, a brief rest, or enjoying the outdoors.

    • Always Open During Daylight: Its general availability during daylight hours (typically 6:30 AM to 9:00 PM) means residents can rely on it for a moment of peace whenever they need it, whether for a morning coffee break or an evening stroll.

    • Quiet Respite: In an increasingly busy world, a designated quiet space for relaxation and contemplation is a valuable "offer" in itself, providing mental and emotional benefits without any associated cost.

    • Contribution to Local Quality of Life: While not a direct promotion, the park's existence contributes significantly to the overall quality of life in North Arlington, offering a small, accessible green lung for residents, which is a continuous benefit to the community.

There are no formal programs, special booking rates, or promotional events specifically tied to Jerry Portmann Park due to its passive nature. Any community-wide events would typically be organized by the Borough's Recreation Department and might utilize larger, more active park spaces.
