John J. Carty Park Reviews
This review is only for it's pickleball courts. It's got 4 dedicated courts that they converted from 1 tennis court. It can get really busy during the weekends. It's gotten so popular that the two tennis courts behind it have taped 8 pickleball courts and all you have to do is bring your own net. First come first serve. Bathrooms are pretty far walk though.
Sep 08, 2024 · Yong LiuMy daughter, granddaughter and I enjoyed our time at the park. This playground is absolutely fantastic! The design is both fun and safe, with a great variety of equipment that keeps kids engaged and active. The layout is spacious, and it's clear that a lot of thought went into creating an environment that's both exciting and secure. It’s a perfect spot for families to enjoy outdoor playtime together!
Nov 13, 2024 · Olga BurkeFinally wait is over after more than two decades, tennis courts under the Verrazano bridge has been fully renovated. I thought, I would not see this day but it has happened. All courts are brand new and I hope these courts will be well administered by parks department so that courts are used for tennis only rather than dog park. I won't be surprise in summer that these courts will be flooded by local tennis coaches, who wants to make few bucks by provide coaching illegally rather than getting permit from Parks department.
Jan 19, 2021 · Ashish SatyabhashakThis place was great before. There was a big open space for kids to ride bikes and play soccer. And just run around. But they recently built 4 volleyball courts in that area and now theirs just a bunch of old men gathering there and taking over the park. Not a lot of space to just run and play soccer. I would’ve loved if they made a soccer field in that area. The park downgraded a lot. Also needs to be renovated the playground is very old.(FYI this is not only my opinion many kids would come to the open space to play soccer with the fence and now it’s taken up by volleyball)Edit: Most of the park is under construction and the volleyball courts got taken down.
Jun 17, 2023 · QxAdequate park with a newly renovated playground. The playground is great, with lots to do and fun things for the kids. I love the exercise area. You can get a full workout with the equipment that's available. I do wish there was more green space though.
