This establishment transcends a mere place to sleep; it provides an immersive stay within a beautifully preserved 19th-century home, offering a glimpse into Brooklyn's architectural heritage while catering to modern needs. With contact information readily available via phone at (570) 216-1953 or mobile at +1 570-216-1953, guests can easily plan their visit to this charming Brooklyn gem.
The environment of Lefferts Garden Bed and Breakfast is one of understated grandeur and inviting warmth. Housed within a classic 19th-century brownstone, the property immediately conveys a sense of history and character. Inside, guests are greeted by beautifully aged hardwood floors, which contribute to the authentic vintage ambiance. Stained-glass picture windows allow natural light to filter in, casting a warm glow and highlighting the intricate details of the architecture. The decor is thoughtfully curated, combining antique dressers and traditional furnishings with modern touches that seamlessly blend into the old-world style. Palm plants often adorn various spaces, adding a touch of natural elegance and freshness. The multi-floor layout, typically three stories with five bedrooms, creates a sense of spaciousness and privacy for guests. Each bedroom is designed to be roomy, often featuring large windows that invite ample light, a spacious dresser for storage, and in some cases, a convenient walk-in closet. The overall atmosphere is impeccably maintained, with a consistent focus on cleanliness, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic stay. Despite its historic nature, the environment feels fresh and welcoming, not dated, making it a truly pleasant backdrop for any visit to Brooklyn.
As a "Scenic Spot" offering lodging services, Lefferts Garden Bed and Breakfast provides a range of amenities designed for guest comfort and convenience. A significant aspect of its service offering is the availability of shared bathrooms. While this might be a consideration for some, as noted in guest feedback, the layout is often practical, with a bathroom on each floor, reducing the likelihood of extended waits. Importantly, these shared facilities are consistently maintained to be "wonderfully clean" and "spotless," a testament to the establishment's dedication to hygiene. The showers are particularly highlighted for their luxurious feel, boasting beautiful aesthetics and delivering "copious amounts of high pressure hot water," a welcome feature after a day of exploring the city. Guests also have access to a shared kitchen, which provides a valuable amenity for those who prefer to prepare their own meals or store food, offering a sense of home away from home. Essential services like air conditioning in the rooms are provided, ensuring comfort even during warm weather. The provision of clean linen and comfortable beds underscores the commitment to a restful night's sleep. While the "breakfast part of the B&B" is not consistently sought out or commented upon by all guests, the emphasis on a clean, comfortable, and well-equipped shared space is a clear service advantage.
The features that distinguish Lefferts Garden Bed and Breakfast as a unique "Scenic Spot" for accommodation are multifaceted. Its affordability, especially given its proximity to Manhattan and prime Brooklyn attractions, is a major draw, allowing travelers to experience NYC on a "tight budget" without compromising on quality or space. The house's "old school class" is impeccably maintained, showcasing architectural details that are often lost in more modern accommodations. This includes the aforementioned hardwood floors, stained glass, and antique furnishings, all contributing to its unique charm. The thoughtful modernization, such as the luxurious showers, demonstrates a commitment to blending historical character with contemporary comfort. The generous room sizes, coupled with amenities like walk-in closets, provide a level of comfort and convenience often found in more expensive lodgings. Its strategic location is another defining feature; it is "very close to the Prospect Park subway on the B and Q lines," offering direct and efficient access to Manhattan in approximately 40 minutes, as well as to other parts of Brooklyn. This accessibility makes it an ideal base for exploring New York City. Furthermore, its proximity to major attractions like Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden means guests can easily enjoy world-class green spaces and cultural institutions within walking distance. While the creaking floors of an old house and typical city noises are noted characteristics, they are often seen as part of the authentic urban experience rather than significant drawbacks, reinforcing the character of the place. The single set of keys per bedroom, while requiring coordination for shared rooms, is a minor logistical point against the backdrop of the overall value.
For those considering a stay, Lefferts Garden Bed and Breakfast is promoted as an excellent choice for a "relaxing and charming" experience in Brooklyn. Imagine stepping into a piece of Brooklyn history, enjoying the spaciousness and character of a 19th-century home, a stark contrast to typical cramped city hotel rooms. The unbeatable value for money, especially for travelers on a budget who still desire comfort and cleanliness, is a key promotional highlight. Its location makes it perfect for tourists eager to explore both Brooklyn's vibrant neighborhoods and Manhattan's iconic landmarks, with convenient subway access just a short walk away. Beyond just sightseeing, guests can enjoy leisurely strolls in nearby Prospect Park or immerse themselves in the beauty of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The shared kitchen facility offers flexibility for self-catering, potentially saving on dining expenses, while the consistently clean shared bathrooms provide a surprisingly convenient and hygienic solution. The warm, inviting ambiance, combined with responsive and knowledgeable management (implied by the high level of maintenance and positive feedback), contributes to a truly positive stay. This "Scenic Spot" offers a genuine and memorable Brooklyn experience, inviting guests to feel at home while exploring one of the world's most dynamic cities. It's an ideal choice for independent travelers, couples, or small groups seeking an authentic, comfortable, and budget-friendly alternative to conventional hotels.

Lefferts Garden Bed and Breakfast Reviews
This place was amazingly comfortable and clean. It has 3 floors with 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The bedroom i stayed in was roomy with large windows, a spacious dresser, and walk in closet. It was quite hot outside while i stayed there, so the room's A/C was great to have. You have to share the bathrooms, but it wasn't a problem since I rarely saw the other guests. The shared kitchen was also nice. The location was perfect since it's close to attractions like Prospect Park and the Brooklyn botanical garden. Something to keep in mind is that there's only one set of keys for each bedroom, so if you're sharing a bedroom with someone and going out to separate places in the city, you'll need to coordinate with the person. Other than that, it's a great place for a great price.
Jul 09, 2023 · Anika GriffithsThis is a beautiful old 19th Century home, thoughtfully furnished and decorated to maintain its understated grandeur. If you believe in the impossible - that you can find a clean and spacious place to stay close to NYC on a tight budget, then look no further. It's perfect picture of beautifully aged hardwood floors, stained glass picture windows, palm plants in the shade, and antique dressers but it is not all old world - lot of thought has been put into modernizations that fit perfectly with the style of the house. The showers are luxurious - they look beautiful and deliver copious amounts of high pressure hot water. Its old school class is maintained impeccably. The rooms are spotless, the linen clean, and the beds comfortable. Some people might not be comfortable with the idea of a shared bathroom but it's actually really convenient. Every floor has its own bathroom and my floor only had two bedrooms, and I never saw the other guests on my floor, so it made little difference What I did notice however was that the bathroom was always wonderfully clean.I'm not sure about the breakfast part of the B&B because I didn't seek it out or ask about it, so I can't comment. One thing to be aware of - it's an old house and floors creak, so if you are a light sleeper you might get woken by other guests returning to their rooms. Also, cities are noisy; you're going to hear emergency vehicle sirens and sounds of traffic, as you would in any city home. I kind of like it so it didn't bother me at all - just something to bear in mind. It's very close to the Prospect Park subway on the B and Q lines, getting you into Manhattan in around 40 minutes.if you decide to stay here (and you should), I hope your time is as relaxing and as charming as mine was.
Jun 21, 2023 · Oliver NiesewandThere are beautiful rooms in the cozy brownstone, mine overlooked the street. There are hardwood floors and large windows in each room. Ms Michelle is a gracious host. She is kind, on time, helpful, and knows her guests needs. There are two bathrooms and one kitchen. Everything was kept clean and stocked. The location in Brooklyn is very central and it’s easy to walk to shops, restaurants and transportation while still having a strong sense of neighborhood. I plan to stay here again.Another review from another guest Michelle K: I want to say that Ms Michelle is the best host ever at this B&B….she greeted me with a big smile and so much positive energy. The place itself was clean and so much history in her home….this is definitely a home away from home….if anyone give less than a 5 in a review….they didn’t visit this place….I came during Labor Day week….the area is so nice and beautiful, you can walk to any restaurant or any store to pick up food, snacks or a bottle of wine. Thank you Ms Michelle for your hospitality and I definitely will be back and stay there again…Keep Smiling! Can you add this post ton your review….Michelle K.
Sep 07, 2021 · Tatiana WilliamsI am a returning guest and never feel disappointed so I want to write a review for this place. The house is cozy and beautiful. My room is always clean and tidy when I check-in. The shared bathroom is clean and spacious. The kitchen is clean and there are always cold bottles of water in the fridge. And the hostess Michelle is my favorite person as always. She is so kind and friendly and if you need anything please talk directly to her. She will do her best to meet your needs.Forgot to take pictures, which was a shame 😩
Jun 28, 2021 · Tony TranBeautiful, clean brownstone on a quiet, tree-lined street in the middle of Brooklyn. It is close (5-10 min walk) to the subway station, allowing you to get to Manhattan in minutes and walking distance (5-10 min) to Prospect Park. There are several restaurants/bars/breakfast spots close by. We will be back!
