For specific events, workshops, or organized programs that might utilize the park's facilities, such as summer camps, fitness classes, or local sports leagues, information would be disseminated through the City of Clifton's official recreation department channels. We recommend checking the Clifton Recreation Department's official website or local community calendars for any scheduled activities or programs that might be of interest. Any permits required for groups exceeding 10 people using the picnic pavilion for more than one hour (up to a maximum of four hours) would also be handled through the Recreation Department, ensuring fair access for all.
For all inquiries regarding Richardson Scale Park, including details about facilities, maintenance, rules, or information on reserving the picnic pavilion for groups, the best point of contact is the City of Clifton Recreation Department. Richardson Scale Park Reviews
Of all the parks run by the City of Clifton Department of Parks and Recreation, Richardson Scale is perhaps the most complete park in Clifton. This park has a plethora of activities and equipment for people of all ages. Located on Van Houten Avenue in the heart of the Athenia section of Clifton, Richardson Scale is bisected by Scales Plaza into two parts. On the east side is the Matthew Grabowski Memorial Soccer Field, named after Matthew Grabowski, a City Councilman who passed away in office in 2015, where many times you can see organized soccer games being played. On the west side is the Stanley Zwier Playground, named after Stanley Zwier, who served as Mayor and City Councilman , and was one of the most prominent participants in civic affairs, being involved in many charitable organizations. In the playground you'll find a large jungle gym, swings, seesaws, and a small merry go round. One definitely eye-catching sight is the presence of an exercise and fitness area, with several stations to help participants with various body parts targeted. Further to the backside of the park you can find more activities for all ages not found in many parks. There is a small covered pavilion with a couple of benches and tables for having a quick bite, and there are pickleball courts, bocce courts, as well as cornhole, chess and checkers tables, and ping pong tables. The park is also circumnavigated by a huge ovular walking path, with numerous shaded benches. All told, this is one place to go to.
Jun 26, 2023 · Burt ShoobsNice park and kid friendly! 4 slides, a few climbing parts and a nice big area to run around in. There are 2 normal swings and 2 for babies of all kinds. There are 2 see-saws next to each other and there are some benches and a few in the sun and a few in a shade. There is also a workout area.
Oct 06, 2024 · Patryk DreslerPickleball players without a membership badge beware. There is an old rude white guy from Clifton Recreations coming to the courts randomly and telling you to leave now if you don’t have a membership badge. I wasn’t aware that you needed a badge to play as I’ve went weeks without running into him and so has many other players I’ve played with but he randomly showed up last week and told me and a group to leave immediately very rudely without even explaining where and how to get a badge.
Sep 17, 2024 · KevinThis park needs alot of TLC! The city should invest and upgrade the park. There are so many families that come and because of them the park is always full of life. Unfortunately, the park is neglected and there isn't many things for the kids to play on and some parts are falling apart!!
Aug 31, 2019 · Lauren GaleanoIt was fun here but when I went to the soccer area the soccer goal didn’t have a net but I still had fun with my brother
