Rogers Park

Danbury, CT 06810, USA

4.0
It's a nice park with playing fields but something needs to be done about the vehicles with loud music/mufflers racing up and down the road as well as unlicensed motor bikes/atv's/mini bikes with kids in the area as well as Seniors and disabled that live at the end of the road. There's an over abundance of geese dropping all over the walking paths. Garbages are overloaded and go for days with without being emptied. It's supposed to be a tobacco/vape/Marijuana free park but yet you see people using hookah and not just for tobacco. The very small sign about it can only be seen if you are turning into the War Memorial parking lot and you would gave to ve looking for it. - Sherry Dawid

Rogers Park Introduce

For residents across Connecticut, particularly those in the greater Danbury area, Rogers Park stands as a sprawling and multifaceted jewel of outdoor recreation and community engagement. Encompassing 56 acres, this expansive public park is much more than just a green space; it's a vibrant hub where sports, nature, and community life converge. From the energetic crack of baseball bats on its numerous fields to the tranquil paths winding around a scenic pond, Rogers Park offers a diverse array of experiences for every age and interest. It's a place deeply embedded in the fabric of Danbury, serving as a backdrop for countless family outings, sporting events, and moments of peaceful contemplation.

Rogers Park is renowned for its extensive facilities, making it a go-to destination for local sports leagues, casual recreation, and social gatherings. It proudly hosts the Danbury Westerners, a collegiate summer baseball team, bringing high-level athletic entertainment right to the community's doorstep. As one local aptly describes it, "Love this park, always fun out here, to play around, read a book, walk, think and much much more. this is my peaceful place." This sentiment captures the park's dual appeal: its capacity for both energetic activity and quiet solace, making it a beloved retreat for many.

While a vibrant public space can sometimes encounter challenges, such as occasional issues with noise or maintenance, the overall consensus remains that Rogers Park is an invaluable community asset. The City of Danbury Parks & Recreation Department consistently works to maintain and improve the park, striving to address concerns and ensure it remains a welcoming environment for all. It's a testament to the enduring importance of accessible green spaces that foster health, happiness, and connection among Connecticut residents.
