Seaside Park Introduce
For New Yorkers seeking a breath of fresh air and a tranquil escape from the city's relentless pace, look no further than Seaside Park. Nestled just off the iconic Coney Island Boardwalk at 3054 W 22nd St, Brooklyn, NY 11224, USA, this delightful park offers a refreshing blend of natural beauty, recreational amenities, and a surprisingly peaceful atmosphere. It’s a true testament to urban green spaces, providing a quiet haven amidst the lively energy of one of Brooklyn’s most famous destinations.
Seaside Park is a relatively new addition to the Coney Island area, and its fresh appeal is evident in its well-kept grounds and modern facilities. Unlike the bustling excitement of the boardwalk attractions, Seaside Park provides a serene counterpoint, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely walk, a moment of quiet reflection, or a safe and engaging environment for children to play. Many locals are discovering this park as a valuable addition to their outdoor recreation options, appreciating its calm demeanor even during peak tourist seasons.
One satisfied visitor aptly described it as a "lovely well-kept park" and a "peaceful place for a nice low-effort walk." This sentiment highlights the park's primary charm: its ability to offer a relaxing experience without demanding too much from its visitors. It’s a space designed for comfort and ease, allowing individuals and families to simply unwind and enjoy the coastal air. The presence of "nice obstacles and play stations for the kids" ensures that younger visitors are well-catered for, making it a versatile destination for diverse needs. Even on a "Friday early afternoon in the summer," the park was noted for not being "crowded at all," suggesting it remains a hidden gem for those in the know, a quiet alternative to the often-packed beach and boardwalk.
Seaside Park is strategically located at 3054 W 22nd St, Brooklyn, NY 11224, USA, placing it directly off the famous Coney Island Boardwalk. This prime location offers the best of both worlds: the vibrant energy of the boardwalk and beach just steps away, combined with the peaceful seclusion of the park itself. The park’s address places it specifically near the 23rd Street area of the boardwalk, making it easily identifiable and convenient to find for both locals and visitors familiar with Coney Island.
Accessibility to Seaside Park is excellent, largely due to the extensive public transportation network serving the Coney Island area. The D, F, N, and Q subway lines all terminate at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue station, which is a major transportation hub and located within a very manageable walking distance of the park. From Stillwell Avenue, visitors can walk west along Surf Avenue or the Boardwalk to reach West 22nd Street, where the park is situated. Numerous MTA bus routes also serve the Coney Island area, providing additional options for reaching the park from various parts of Brooklyn and beyond.
For those who prefer to drive, street parking may be available in the surrounding residential areas, though it can be challenging during peak beach season. There are also paid parking lots available near the boardwalk. However, due to the excellent public transport links and the park's proximity to other Coney Island attractions, utilizing the subway or bus is often the most convenient and stress-free way to visit Seaside Park. The park's location encourages a leisurely walk along the boardwalk as part of the overall experience, enhancing its appeal as a destination for New Yorkers seeking a coastal escape.

As a public park managed by the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, Seaside Park does not operate with commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional sense. Its primary value proposition is its free and open access to all members of the public, providing a high-quality recreational and green space without any cost. The "offer" is the inherent benefit of enjoying a well-maintained, peaceful, and family-friendly environment.
However, the NYC Parks Department and local community organizations sometimes host free events or programs within public parks. While not specific to Seaside Park as an ongoing promotion, these might include:
Free Outdoor Fitness Classes: During warmer months, some parks host complimentary yoga, Zumba, or other fitness sessions.
Children's Programs: Storytelling sessions, nature education, or supervised play activities might be offered.
Concerts or Performances: Local artists or community groups may utilize park spaces for free public performances.
Seasonal Events: Holiday celebrations, harvest festivals, or other themed events.
To stay informed about any potential free events or community activities that might be held at Seaside Park, New Yorkers should consult the official NYC Parks Department website. Additionally, local community boards, neighborhood associations, and online local event calendars for the Coney Island and surrounding Brooklyn areas are excellent resources for discovering any specific programming that might take place at Seaside Park throughout the year. The park's greatest "promotion" remains its consistent accessibility and the inherent joy it brings to its visitors, free of charge.
As a public park managed by the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, Seaside Park does not have a dedicated on-site office or direct phone number for public inquiries. All general questions, maintenance requests, or information about rules and regulations for Seaside Park (and other city parks) are handled by the main NYC Parks Department administrative offices.
Address: 3054 W 22nd St, Brooklyn, NY 11224, USA
For any inquiries related to Seaside Park, including reporting maintenance issues, questions about park hours or specific amenities, or information about permits for events (if applicable), locals should contact the NYC Parks Department's main customer service line or visit their official website. This centralized system ensures that all park-related queries are directed to the appropriate teams within the department.
The primary general contact for NYC Parks is typically available on their official website under the "Contact Us" section. This approach allows for consistent and efficient management of all city parks. While there isn't a direct phone number for Seaside Park itself, the address helps visitors pinpoint its location within the broader Coney Island area.

One of the park's most significant appeals for locals is its remarkably peaceful atmosphere. As highlighted by visitors, it remains "not crowded at all" even during peak summer afternoons, providing a stark contrast to the bustling energy of the adjacent beach and amusement areas. This quietude makes it an ideal spot for a "low-effort walk," a moment of quiet contemplation, or simply enjoying the fresh air and coastal breezes. For New Yorkers craving a serene escape but wishing to stay within the city limits, Seaside Park is a true hidden gem that delivers on its promise of calm.
Furthermore, the park’s appeal extends to families. The "nice obstacles and play stations for the kids" ensure that younger visitors have engaging and safe areas to play, allowing parents to relax while their children are entertained. This makes Seaside Park a versatile choice for family outings, combining a peaceful environment for adults with stimulating activities for children. The fact that it is a "lovely well-kept park" reinforces its suitability, as locals can expect a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for themselves and their loved ones.
Being a relatively "new addition to the area" also means that Seaside Park benefits from modern design and maintenance standards, contributing to its fresh appearance and efficient use of space. This ongoing commitment to upkeep ensures that the park remains a high-quality resource for the community, reflecting the value placed on accessible green spaces in New York City. Ultimately, Seaside Park offers New Yorkers a convenient, peaceful, and beautifully maintained outdoor space perfect for relaxation, family fun, and a refreshing escape from the urban hustle, making it an invaluable asset for local well-being and recreation.

Seaside Park Reviews
Lovely well-kept park off of the Coney Island Boardwalk near 23rd Street. I believe the park is a fairly new addition to the area. A peaceful place for a nice low-effort walk. Also some nice obstacles and play stations for the kids. Was not crowded at all on Friday early afternoon in the summer. (I think more people were focused on the beach instead of being at the park)

Jan 02, 2021 · Olga PetrushanskyCool little park with some real nice playground equipment. It's a new park so shade trees are still small. Nicely done. Picnic area on a rolling path. Super clean. Looks like they close the park during concerts. Very nicely buffered. It's a little oasis. Bathrooms are available and Kitchen 21 is right next door. Plenty of benches and bicycle racks.Three entrances.
