The Rocky River Inn Reviews
I highly recommend this lovely inn. It’s difficult to find any place to stay right in New Milford itself without paying exorbitant prices. The room overlooked the river and was extremely quiet. The room itself was recently renovated, comfortable and very clean. I would have loved somewhere else to sit in the room other than on the bed itself, but their other rooms are larger, and we just had to take what they had available at the time we made the reservation. The staff is very welcoming and hospitable. Highly recommend….we will definitely be back!
May 29, 2025 · SuzanneThis place is a diamond in the rough. From the outside it is fairly well maintained. It is clean and a river runs behind it, which gives it a special charm. Walking into the room is an ever more pleasantly surprising experience. Modest but well curated furniture and carefully adorned facilities. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable.
May 19, 2025 · Miguel GuanipaOur stay was great; the rooms are really nice and renovated and a really good price for the quality of it. Very comfortable beds and everything is very clean. Gorgeous piece of land in the back with the river and some chairs. The only two things I would complain about is that the remote for the tv did not have a proper volume control, and so we were forced to stand on top of the dresser below the tv to turn the volume up or down which was annoying. Also, the toilet paper roll was half empty or so when we checked into our room; I think there should be a new, full toilet paper roll when a guest checks into a room. Otherwise it was great!
Apr 15, 2025 · Lucia MayersWe stayed at Rocky River Inn while we were in town for the Gilmore Girls event. The best way to describe the place is an upscale motel. They renovated the rooms but it’s given landlord special. The shower was not sealed to the wall so it was just a gap, the curtains were remote controlled which was nice but the were completely torn up. So it was very strange. There was a door by our bed that was locked that led into an unmarked room, so for me that was a little sketchy and someone was staying in it because we heard them at 8am moving around. There is no Do not disturb sign so expect house keeping to clean every day which I don’t like. The door has 1 dead bolt and that is the only locking mechanism. Our room key stopped working each day so we had go to the front office each day. Thankfully it happened to us Day 1 so we knew to check the cards each morning before we left( we were out late so we didn’t want to be stranded with no key once the office closed).I called a month before our trip to add an extra night and said is it okay if I check in after 10pm the guy said yes. I called the day we were leaving and the woman said no we close at 10, so after having to literally argue with this woman on the phone she came up with an alternative we could do.I booked through Expedia for pay at hotel option. Well they never took my card at arrival instead they charged the card from Expedia which I DID NOT want. I was also never given a receipt. All in all the Inn was clean but due to the door in our room, the landlord special, the keys not working, and the 1 lock I barely slept and felt uneasy the entire time. If I come back to the area I would stay at a different location.
Apr 26, 2025 · Shannon FaganOnly flaw in an otherwise lovely overnight (visiting Canterbury School to see a grandson), the Keurig machine WOULD NOT WORK -- we tried everything -- and that was a disappointment as we were rushing off and needed our coffee! The room was immaculate as was the bathroom. The office management was welcoming. We would recommend this to anyone.
