Wingate by Wyndham Bronx/Haven Park Reviews
Starting with the hotel staff, everyone is very friendly—both at the front desk and in the buffet area. We even arrived before the check-in time and they gave us a room. The room is small but very convenient, and everything is well arranged so you can settle in comfortably. The only really bad part of the room is the shower: it’s transparent, and you can see everything. They should consider adding some kind of curtain that covers the whole area around it, since I don’t think they’ll remove the glass (that’s why I give it 4 stars).Breakfast is simple but has what you need to start the day. The hotel is basic but nice. The only unpleasant part is the streets leading to it, although I know that’s not their fault. Overall, it’s a good hotel to stay at for a few nights. The train station is just one block away, which is convenient for those of us using the subway.
May 21, 2025 · Ángely LópezDuring one of the most difficult times for my family—dealing with the loss of a loved one while visiting a city we were unfamiliar with—Emily at the front desk was truly a beacon of kindness, compassion, and professionalism. From the moment we arrived, she went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly. She handled all of our reservations with care and made sure, even at the very last minute, that our family arrangements were coordinated without any hassle. Her attention to detail and calm demeanor brought so much peace to a chaotic and emotional time.Emily wasn’t just doing her job—she was extraordinary. She made sure our needs were met before we even had to ask. She communicated seamlessly with other staff members, so everyone was aware of our situation and ready to help. Her compassion and commitment to service showed us that we weren’t just guests—we were cared for.I genuinely believe Emily has qualities that far exceed the role of a front desk employee. She is professional, knowledgeable, incredibly kind, and someone who turns moments of stress into comfort. I am truly, truly grateful for her presence during our stay. She made a lasting impact on my entire family.Thank you, Emily—you are a blessing.
May 17, 2025 · BeyondProgress ConsultantsDecent hotel. My go to hotel for when my boyfriend is in town. Rooms are small but what can you expect in New York. Even though with rooms being small it was still enough space for the two of us. Storage under bed and by door. Shower/toilet is nice with hot water and toiletries. Rooms are a little dusty but no issues when we asked housekeeping to clean, they were friendly. Breakfast is simple. Yogurt, cereal, muffins, waffles, no cooked food. Great night life. Haven't gotten the chance to go to the rooftop but even the bar itself is lively. Great DJ and great food, even during day. The area may not be the best for tourists but the train is right outside and so is the bridge. Stayed here 2 times, will stay again!
Apr 23, 2025 · Anaya ThompsonThe staff was super friendly — I wish I remembered her name, but the girl at the front desk totally made my day after a long journey! The location is spot on — the subway is literally 2 minutes away, so getting around is a breeze. The room was a good size, with a little fridge, plus a private toilet and shower — all you need for a comfy stay.Breakfast could use a little upgrade. They do offer bagels, toast, waffles, cream cheese, coffee, juices, microwaveable hamburgers, and muffins — not bad! But I’d love to see some fresh touches like boiled eggs or a bit of ham and cheese to round it out.Overall, definitely recommend if you are in the area.
May 07, 2025 · Vita GThis was our first time staying in NYC, we usually do Jersey City. However I have family in the Bronx- and this hotel was super close.18 minutes away from them5 mins to a Target( you have to pay for parking in a parking garage to park)5 minutes from 2 dollar trees. yes the price is $1.25 plus tax so for last minute things that's the spot.we were 6 minutes from Harlem- which straight ride down into Manhattan and Central Park.the Hotel was clean, staff was friendly. ONLY DOWNFALL was the restaurant. We were hoping to try it out. But it seems to be open to the public and it was a party/movie the entire 3 days we were there. Not the ideal setting for children, and we couldn't order food once we arrived back to hotel since the kitchen closes at 915. the website didn't say that so we didn't know what the time frame was.but over all good hotel, clean, will def give them another shot god willing. The Bronx needed this !
