Located strategically in Totowa, New Jersey, it aims to cater to a range of guests, from business travelers needing easy access to major roadways to leisure visitors exploring the surrounding areas of Passaic County. Understanding the practical aspects of a hotel, such as its exact location, how accessible it is, and the core services it provides, are fundamental to planning any stay.
This article will provide an overview of the Wyndham Garden Totowa, based on publicly available information regarding its address and contact details. We will outline its location and general accessibility, and discuss the types of services typically offered by hotels of this brand and category. While this content aims to be informative and engaging, it is essential to present a factual account that reflects the available data. For New Jersey residents and visitors, gaining a comprehensive picture of potential accommodation options is vital for making an informed choice for their travel needs.
A hotel experience can significantly impact a trip, whether it's for business or leisure. Therefore, a clear and straightforward description of a hotel’s basic attributes, combined with insights into the guest experience, is paramount. This information empowers potential visitors to set realistic expectations and determine if a particular establishment aligns with their specific requirements and standards for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in New Jersey.
The Wyndham Garden Totowa is located at One Route 46 West, Totowa, NJ 07512, USA. This is a highly strategic and easily accessible location for a hotel in New Jersey. Route 46 is a major east-west highway in northern New Jersey, providing direct access to various towns and cities in Passaic, Morris, and Essex counties. Its position immediately off this significant thoroughfare makes it particularly convenient for:
- Road Travelers: Guests arriving by car will find it straightforward to locate and access, as it sits directly on a major route.
- Business Travelers: Its proximity to major highways often means easier commutes to corporate offices and industrial parks in the surrounding areas.
- Visitors to Local Attractions: The hotel serves as a base for exploring attractions in the Totowa area and nearby communities, including shopping centers, restaurants, and various points of interest in Passaic County.
The presence of a dedicated address on a major road suggests ample on-site parking, which is typically a standard amenity for hotels in suburban New Jersey. While direct public transportation might require some walking or a transfer, its location is optimized for vehicular travel, which is the preferred mode for many visitors to this region. This accessibility is a key factor for guests prioritizing convenience in their travel plans within New Jersey.
Based on general hotel industry standards for a Wyndham Garden property, and acknowledging that specific amenities can vary, the Wyndham Garden Totowa typically offers a range of services designed to provide comfort and convenience to its guests. These commonly include:
- Guest Rooms and Suites: Offering various room types equipped with standard hotel amenities such as beds, bathrooms, and basic furnishings.
- Front Desk Services: Typically available 24/7 for check-in, check-out, and guest assistance.
- Wi-Fi Access: Internet connectivity is usually provided in guest rooms and common areas.
- Housekeeping: Daily or regular cleaning service for guest rooms.
- Parking: On-site parking facilities for guests, often complimentary.
- Dining Options: Hotels of this category often feature an on-site restaurant, lounge, or provide breakfast services (sometimes complimentary, sometimes for a fee).
- Fitness Center: Access to a gym or fitness room for guest use.
- Meeting and Event Space: Facilities for business meetings, conferences, or social events.
- Business Center: Basic services such as computer access and printing.
- Accessibility Features: Rooms and common areas designed to be accessible for guests with disabilities.
Based on the general characteristics of a Wyndham Garden brand hotel, typical features and highlights would often include:
- Brand Recognition: Being part of the Wyndham family of hotels offers a certain level of brand recognition and implies a consistent standard of service and amenities that travelers often associate with the chain.
- Convenient Highway Location: Its direct access off Route 46 West is a significant feature for travelers valuing ease of navigation and connectivity to major thoroughfares in New Jersey.
- Complimentary Parking: The availability of on-site parking is a practical highlight for guests traveling by car.
- Standard Amenities: The provision of expected hotel amenities such as Wi-Fi, a fitness center, and potentially dining options provides a functional stay.
- Meeting Facilities: For business travelers or those planning events, the availability of meeting spaces can be a key feature.
However, it is also important to consider real customer feedback when assessing the actual highlights and features experienced by guests. Recent reviews indicate some significant concerns regarding the actual condition and functionality of the hotel's features and services. These include issues with cleanliness (stains, dirt, odors), maintenance (non-working appliances, sticky floors, thin walls, non-functional phones and TVs), and staff responsiveness. While the brand intends to offer certain features, the actual guest experience, as reported, suggests a discrepancy between expected standards and reality.
Hotels within a major chain like Wyndham frequently offer a variety of promotions and special offers to attract guests. While specific deals for Wyndham Garden Totowa would vary based on seasonality, booking channels, and corporate promotions, typical offers might include:

When evaluating the suitability of the Wyndham Garden Totowa for locals in New Jersey, it's essential to consider a multifaceted perspective that balances general hotel attributes with recent guest experiences. From a purely geographical standpoint, its location at One Route 46 West in Totowa, NJ, is undeniably strategic. This positioning makes it highly accessible for New Jersey residents traveling for business in the northern part of the state, or those visiting family and friends in Passaic County. Its direct highway access simplifies navigation, making it a convenient base for exploring the region without significant detours. For locals needing a temporary stay due to home renovations, family visits, or short-term work assignments, the location offers practical advantages.
However, suitability for locals also heavily depends on the actual guest experience, which, according to recent customer reviews, presents significant challenges. The recurring themes of cleanliness issues, maintenance problems (such as non-working appliances, sticky floors, and thin walls leading to noise disturbances), and general neglect paint a concerning picture. While the hotel may offer standard services typical of a Wyndham Garden property, such as Wi-Fi and front desk assistance, the reported condition of the rooms and facilities suggests that these services may not be delivered to an acceptable standard. For locals, who often have alternatives and are familiar with area expectations, these issues could significantly detract from any perceived value or convenience.
The financial aspect is also a key consideration for suitability. While some might initially perceive the hotel as "reasonably priced," the sentiment from recent reviews indicates that the actual experience renders it "overpriced" given the reported conditions. New Jersey residents are generally discerning consumers, and value for money is paramount. A hotel that compromises on basic cleanliness, comfort, and functionality, regardless of its initial price point, is unlikely to be deemed suitable or recommended by the local community.
In conclusion, while the Wyndham Garden Totowa benefits from a highly accessible location in New Jersey, its suitability for locals is heavily impacted by consistent and severe negative feedback regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and overall guest comfort. For New Jersey residents, who value a pleasant and functional stay, these reported issues would likely outweigh the convenience of its location, making it less suitable as a preferred accommodation option. Potential guests from the area would be well-advised to consider these direct accounts when making their lodging decisions.

Wyndham Garden Totowa Reviews
Worst hotel I’ve EVER stayed at. Do NOT stay here.1. I get into my room and immediately the dressers have brown and yellow stains on them, the floor is dirty and contains hair and more stains, and the room smelt horrible.2. I go to use the bathroom and opened the toilet to see POOP inside. Nobody had used the bathroom before me let alone even went inside of it. I was so taken aback I almost threw up, and the toilet had countless stains inside. It was so disgusting I literally had to stand up and use the bathroom, but I wouldn’t have used it at all if I didn’t need to so badly.3. We got moved to a different room after complaining and the only reason service is given 2 stars instead of 1 is because the guy was understanding and moved us immediately.4. After being moved, I took off my socks and shoes and was so grossed out because the floors were sticky. How are the floors STICKY in a HOTEL ROOM?? I could literally hear my feet sticking to the floor and had to wear shoes the entire time I wanted to walk.5. The floors and dressers were STILL dirty, but I honestly gave up on switching because I only had one more night.6. The fridge didn’t even work and neither did any of the bedside outlets. I had to go around the entire room searching for an outlet that would work, and finally found one.7. The walls were not even the slightest bit sound proof. I could hear people simply walking in the hallways and the room service cart rolling down the hallways. I could also hear people talking, which isn’t their problem, it’s just the fact that the walls are SO THIN.8. The TVs didn’t work besides being turns off an on, and was stuck on one channel the entire time.Overall, I don’t care that this place is reasonably priced, DO NOT STAY HERE.Honestly, at this point it’s OVERPRICED. Nothing can validate this mess of a hotel. Please no matter how much of a budget you’re on do not stay here. Worst experiences of my life. My brother has cancer and his immune system is weak, so I genuinely was worried for his health. This place deserves so be shut down it’s so horrible.
May 23, 2025 · DaliaAvoid this hotel at all costs. This place is an absolute disaster — dirty, neglected, and clearly mismanaged. From the moment we walked in, it was obvious the property isn’t maintained to even a basic standard. The lobby smelled musty, the carpets were stained and worn, and the staff seemed either overwhelmed or indifferent. Our room was filthy. Used contact lenses were found scattered throughout the room. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly, the towels looked used, and the sheets were stained. The mattress was sagging and uncomfortable, and we dealt with constant noise throughout the night due to thin walls and loud guests roaming the halls with no staff intervention. When we tried to phone the front desk the phones didn't work. It’s obvious the owners have stopped caring. This hotel isn’t just dated — it’s completely run down and feels abandoned by anyone responsible for keeping it functional. The photos online are extremely misleading and do not reflect the actual conditions.Do yourself a favor: skip this place. It’s not worth the savings, the hassle, or the headache.

Mar 16, 2025 · hailey fabianWell first of all the staff was good but when we first got there there was trash outside the hotel ok. Now, into our room and the number of the room was 503 and slowly slowly we started to hear the cars bumping into the bridge beams and it was very noisy and they didn't have earplugs so we bought off a CVS pharmacy. Breakfast, well on floor 2 we went and then we entered and we saw plastic PLATES FORKS SPOONS AND WORST OF ALL PLASTIC KNIVES. You don't know how bad that was like spreading butter, jam or cream cheese, I just pinched the knife and it worked. Now we saw a tray of potatoes next to a cleaning cart with the mop and... Yeah that was disgusting. I searched behind the drawers on the room 503 and found an dirty LOL girl's draw book some what like that and a plastic bag with stains of oil. Tho the staff was cool I say it again
