Thanks to websites like and booking a family-friendly hotel is a simple process but finding that perfect family hotel can be a tedious process. With so many different areas and accommodation options to choose from, how could you possibly figure out where to stay in Jamaica?

To help, I’ve listed (in alphabetical order and not in the order of the best to worst) the 5 best family hotels in Jamaica for you so you can rest easy when you’re not out having a blast.

Where to stay in Jamaica

Jamaica has a few main tourist areas where most of the resorts are located.

Runaway Bay: Close to the airport which means you’ll make it from the conveyor belt to the beach in no time, but keep in mind the serene sound of waves lapping at the shoreline will be interrupted by jets flying overhead.

Montego Bay: A good option for a first time trip to Jamaica, as this is where most of the action is and the most popular resort area.

Kingston: On the southeast coast of the island you’ll find Jamaica’s capital city of Kingston. With so much history, culture, and entertainment, Kingston exceeds the expectations of a capital city

Negril: This area boasts the country’s most stunning coastlines, and hotel prices reflect this.

Ocho Rios: Close to attractions like Dunn’s River Falls, this spot also serves as the island’s shopping hub.

FAQs about Traveling to Country Name

Is Jamaica a good place for a family vacation?

In a word – YES! Ocho Rios, Montego Bay, and Negril are perhaps the best towns for families. Each town are awash with kid-friendly attractions and activities, most notably Dunn’s River Falls, Kool Runnings Adventure Park, zip-lining over the jungles of Mystic Mountain or horseback riding in the waters of Montego Bay

Where can families go in Jamaica?

In Jamaica, boredom will not be a problem with many of the all-inclusive hotels offering kids clubs, kiddie pools, and even mini-waterparks. Outside the hotel walls’ is where the real fun lies. Take your older kids zip-lining over the island’s rainforests or give your toddler an educational experience on a toddler-friendly nature walk.

Is Montego Bay good for families?

Montego Bay is a tale of two cities! In the city, you will find the pretty gritty city, second only to Kingston in terms of status and chaos. Then located well outside the urban core are all-inclusive resorts offering private beach access, water parks, beach, and water sports with breathtaking ocean views!!
