Appelt Park Reviews
I came upon this park by accident and I was hoping for a scenic trail but it's more of a fishing park area than a park. I can see it being a mini park but it is not really well maintained as there is a small structure that would appear to have a path with rails and beneath it is a cracked, broken yet still standing concrete apparatus for water to flow through. It was relaxing however to be by water, watch two people fish and just listen to the water.
May 05, 2022 · N10 FitNot what I expected (I was looking for a scenic spot to picnic/eat in the car) but nice: a gravel parking lot from which you can just about see the river, with a dirt path leading down to the water. Signs indicate that the river is stocked with trout; others signs encourage catch-and-release. There are plenty of narrow trails through the woods and undergrowth, but it seems too small an area for hiking.
Sep 18, 2021 · Elisa EigerPlease keep the Pequannock beautiful and protect our resource. Don't leave behind litter or fishing trash, including fishing line. There is a trash can in the parking lot which makes it even easier. Also please release ALL Brown Trout as they are naturally reproducing wild fish.
Apr 28, 2021 · MatthewA very small park located along the banks of the Pequannock river. The Pequannock river is both a trout stocked river and has been designated by the State of New Jersey as a natural breeding water. A State license is required to fish here and State Game Wardens do stop and check for compliance to all State Regulations. Some folks do picnic here but sadly the town won't spend any money after the shoreline was washed down to bare river rocks a number of years ago.
Dec 08, 2020 · Tom FoxThere's really not all that much here. Is a gravel parking lot and some grass and not much else. No trials no activities. You do have an opportunity to get close to the river and watch it go by and I believe if you're an angler they stock the river with trout so you can catch and release fish.
