It is always recommended to check their official website or booking platforms directly for any current deals or seasonal rates that might be available for your planned dates. Beacon Hotel (Short term rental) Reviews
i was spending a few days in beacon with my partner for personal celebrations; we came across this hotel as it’s on main street and was direct to where we wanted to be.this was one of, if not *the* worst hotel experience i ever had.i got an email for the check in, telling me the door codes and my room code. when we arrived to the location, there was no indication (except for a man who was day-drunk outside) for us to even know we were at the right spot.when we arrived inside the first door, i was disappointed at just how dirty the initial hallway was. there was dirt and dust that looked like it had been caked on for years.. despite that, we walked up the first flight of stairs to head to our room. when we were met with the second key code door, that’s when the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke started. the entire hallway, all the way up to our room on the top floor, smelled of cigarettes. this usually doesn’t bother me (my partner smokes), however, what made it worse was that each different floor’s hallway had scent diffusers that were spewing out this foul smelling “air freshener” and that, mixed with the cigarette smoke was nauseating.when we’d finally got into our room, the room itself was mostly fine. the heating/ac unit wasn’t working, so we did have cold nights, but luckily the blankets helped enough with that.. in the bathroom, the toilet bowl lid was cracked and sharp, which was very uncomfortable.on the second night we stayed, there was a couple that was on the same floor as us, in the other room, fighting from (no joke) 1 am to 6 am. i guess something had happened in their relationship and so the woman kicked the man out of the room. well, that became everyone else’s problem. their fighting was so loud and he was banging on the door trying to get in for such a prolonged period of time, that even with the TV on full blast, we were still able to hear them fighting and the man yelling. not to mention him banging on the door made the whole room i was in shake.we ended up calling the number on beacon hotel 5 times, with no answer. so i ended up calling the beacon police department, to which the person i spoke to was able to describe the couple IN COMPLETE DETAIL and was able to tell us what room they were staying in and that they were aware of this issue. obviously, this leads me to believe others had reported the issue and/or this is an ongoing situation.there was even a point where the man had started trying to break into the room my partner and i were in, which is what truly prompted me to call the authorities.with that being said though, nothing was resolved. i had called the police several times between 3-6am and the couple continued their arguments.i honestly wish i could get a refund for this trip. i feel like i paid far too much for the experience received… would not recommend and would likely not stay here for trips to beacon in the future (which sucks because this is a prime location on main street).very disappointed.
Apr 12, 2025 · Jessica UrziaI have been left with PTSD after viewing this disgusting property and the taxi ride from train station. The taxi driver refused to take debit card for a three minute taxi ride and then abusing me for not having cash.I thought the taxi driver was being vindictive as I asked where the Hotel was.The signage says Beacon short stay accommodation. While keying in the code at the front door with the porch on a slope, trying to keep my luggage from rolling onto the street, a man barged out the door without a sideways glance or offer to hold the door open. The entrance to this ( you cannot call it a hotel in any way shape or form) was filled with cigarette smoke and smell. Old men coming and going pushing past to go up the stairs. I left my luggage inside the front door and proceeded to walk the FIVE flights ( switchback stairs) to the room I had been allocated. The room was smelly musty, dark and overlooked the car park. I Immediately left and collected my baggage, while upset & walking the Main Street looking to either return to NYC or find a B&B.I was battling the onset of the flu with a temperature. As I was unable to get hold of anyone at the hotel I left a Voicemail message to advise that the room and the experience I had just encountered was not what I booked. This was a ram shackled dingy men’s boarding house, with drunk men coming and going in the short time I was there. The theatre opposite staff, said that it is a well known drug house.I am 67 yr old female with double knee replacement and no where on my reservation does it state the amount of stairs or the lack of an elevator. The smoke filled environment left me coughing for hours afterwards.I suggest you book The Factory Hotel where the wonderful owner Beth and her assistant manager Alex, could not have been kinder. I stayed three nights at The Factory Hotel and find it the best boutique hotel I have encountered in for many years. A must to visit.Generally booked out every weekend and part week, tells you they are doing it right by their repeat customers.Booking dot cOm need to remove the Beacon short term stay hotel from its list of properties, as per now all the reviews saying the same issue.Disgusting is too kind a word and a quarter star is generous.Beware.
Apr 23, 2025 · Julie Kay RyanBuyer beware. This is not an actual hotel. It is a room in a short term stay apartment building. The entrance isn’t marked. There were 3 lock boxes that didn’t work properly to gain entrance. The stairway smelled of cigarette smoke and there was no parking. They told us to partk at some brewery 15 minute walk away. It was shocking that this cost 300.00/night in February which is totally off season.
Feb 09, 2025 · Donna SirianniWe booked this last minute and it was in a perfect location. However, the room smelled like cigarette smoke and the common area was terrible. The room itself (minus the smell) was clean and fine. I would recommend looking elsewhere for the price.
Jan 19, 2025 · Claire SpardelTo summarize, here are the key issues we endured:Room Door Malfunction: We had serious trouble locking our door, which left us anxious about the security of our belongings.Non-Functional TV: The television in our room was completely inoperative, detracting from our comfort and entertainment.Uncomfortable Temperature: We spent the night freezing due to a malfunctioning air conditioner, which was also poorly installed, allowing a very large insect to enter the room while we were sleep. We had to kill it and remove it.These issues were not only inconvenient but unacceptable for any hotel, especially one where we had previously enjoyed positive experiences. We have photo and video evidence of the air conditioner, the lock issue, and the insect problem. As loyal guests who have previously had positive experiences, we are deeply disappointed. We were not compensated adequately enough for the trouble we went through. We were given the option of just a 20% discount on the next stay if we were interested in it. Not at all. We will never return.
