Blakes Lodging

77 Pantigo Rd, East Hampton, NY 11937, USA

5.0
We stayed three nights at this lovely historic home. There are at least four guest rooms with private baths. There is a large common room on the lower floor with many places to sit, relax and watch TV. The place is clean and quiet, however it is located on the main road so there is some noise from traffic. I used ear plugs and had no problem. The rooms are eclectically decorated, and the whole experience is just really nice and relaxing. - Nadine Alonzo

Location and Accessibility

Blakes Lodging boasts an excellent location at 77 Pantigo Road, East Hampton, NY 11937, USA. This address places it squarely within one of the most desirable and picturesque villages in the Hamptons, offering guests both convenience and access to the area's many attractions. Pantigo Road (NY-27) is a main artery through East Hampton, which means the lodging is easy to find and navigate to upon arrival.

One of the most significant advantages of Blakes Lodging's location is its proximity to East Hampton's vibrant Main Street. As noted by a satisfied guest, the historic house is "right down the road from Main Street in East Hampton (walking distance)." This is a major highlight for visitors, as it means you can easily stroll to a variety of shops, exquisite dining establishments, art galleries, and cultural landmarks without the need for a car. Imagine enjoying a leisurely breakfast at a local cafe or an evening out, knowing that a comfortable walk back to your lodging awaits.

While located on a main road, which might introduce some traffic noise, guests have found this to be a minor consideration, easily managed for a quiet night's sleep. For those traveling by car from New York City or other parts of Long Island, East Hampton is accessible via NY-27 East. Parking is generally available on-site for guests. For those preferring public transportation, the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) provides service to East Hampton, and Blakes Lodging would be a short taxi or ride-share from the station, making it a viable option for a car-free getaway. Its prime location truly positions it as an ideal base for exploring all that East Hampton and the wider Hamptons region have to offer.

Services Offered

Blakes Lodging focuses on providing a comfortable, relaxing, and personalized stay within its charming historic setting. While not a large hotel with extensive amenities, the services offered are tailored to ensure a pleasant and home-like experience for guests.

  • Private Guest Rooms with En-suite Baths: A key service offered is the provision of "at least four guest rooms with private baths." This ensures privacy and convenience for every guest, a highly valued amenity in any lodging establishment. Each room is designed for comfort and personal space.

  • Spacious Common Room: The lodging features "a large common room on the lower floor with many places to sit, relax and watch TV." This communal space serves as a comfortable area for guests to unwind, socialize, read, or simply enjoy a quiet moment outside of their private room. It enhances the "home away from home" feel.

  • Clean and Quiet Environment: Blakes Lodging is consistently described as "clean and quiet." While situated on a main road, the overall atmosphere prioritizes tranquility and tidiness, ensuring guests can fully relax. The dedication to cleanliness contributes significantly to a comfortable stay.

  • Personalized Hosting by Jeanie Blake: A standout service is the direct interaction with the host, Jeanie Blake, described as "such a wonderful person and host." This personal touch can elevate a stay, offering local insights, assistance, and a warm, welcoming demeanor that larger establishments often lack.

  • Relaxing Atmosphere: The entire experience is described as "really nice and relaxing." While not a tangible service, the creation of such an ambiance is a testament to the care and attention put into the guest experience.

  • Historic Charm and Unique Decor: The property itself, as a "lovely historic home," offers a unique charm. The rooms are "eclectically decorated," providing a distinct and memorable aesthetic experience that goes beyond standard hotel decor. This unique styling contributes to the overall character and enjoyment of the stay.

  • On-site Parking: While not explicitly detailed in reviews, most lodgings in this type of location would offer some form of on-site parking, adding to the convenience for guests traveling by car. This is a practical service for those exploring the wider Hamptons area.

Features / Highlights

Blakes Lodging stands out for several distinctive features and highlights that contribute to its charm and appeal, particularly for those seeking a more personal and authentic Hamptons experience.

  • Historic Home Ambiance: The most prominent highlight is that it is a "lovely historic home." This feature imbues the lodging with a unique character and a sense of timeless elegance, setting it apart from modern, generic accommodations. Staying here offers a connection to East Hampton's rich past.

  • Exceptional Host, Jeanie Blake: The personal touch provided by "Jeanie Blake is such a wonderful person and host" is a recurring highlight. A warm and welcoming host can transform a simple stay into a memorable experience, offering local insights and ensuring guest comfort. This personal connection is a significant differentiator.

  • Prime Walkable Location: Being "right down the road from Main Street in East Hampton (walking distance)" is an invaluable highlight. Guests can easily access the village's vibrant shops, renowned restaurants, art galleries, and cultural sites on foot, reducing the need for driving and enhancing the overall leisurely pace of a Hamptons visit.

  • Cleanliness and Comfort: The consistent praise for the lodging being "clean and quiet" ensures a high level of comfort for guests. These fundamental aspects are crucial for a relaxing stay and demonstrate a commitment to guest satisfaction.

  • Eclectic Decor: The "eclectically decorated" rooms offer a visually interesting and personalized touch. Unlike standard hotel rooms, each space likely has its own unique charm, contributing to the "really nice and relaxing" experience and making each visit feel distinctive.

  • Private Bathrooms: The availability of "private baths" for each guest room is a significant comfort feature, offering convenience and privacy that enhances the quality of the stay.

  • Dedicated Common Area: The "large common room on the lower floor with many places to sit, relax and watch TV" provides a valuable shared space. This area allows guests to spread out, socialize, or find a quiet corner outside of their private room, adding to the overall relaxation and spaciousness of the lodging.

Promotions or Special Offers

Blakes Lodging, as a charming, intimate historic home, is less likely to engage in widespread, publicly advertised "promotions" or "special offers" in the same way a large chain hotel might. Its appeal often lies in its unique character, personalized service, and desirable location, which tend to draw guests seeking a specific experience rather than just a discount.

However, discerning travelers might still find opportunities for value or special arrangements:

  • Direct Booking Incentives: Sometimes, smaller, independent lodgings offer better rates or small perks (like a complimentary amenity or a flexible check-out time) when guests book directly through their website or by phone, rather than through third-party booking sites. This could be considered an informal "special offer." It’s always worth checking their direct contact information or website for any such advantages.

  • Off-Season Rates: The Hamptons, including East Hampton, experience significant seasonal fluctuations. During the shoulder seasons (spring and fall) or the quieter winter months (excluding major holidays), rates at Blakes Lodging might be more competitive than during the peak summer season. While not a "promotion," these lower rates offer significant value for those flexible with their travel dates.

  • Extended Stay Discounts: For guests planning a longer visit (e.g., a week or more), it's not uncommon for independent lodgings to offer a slight reduction in the nightly rate. This encourages longer stays and can be arranged by contacting the host directly.

  • Word-of-Mouth Referrals/Repeat Guest Appreciation: While not advertised, some establishments offer special recognition or a small discount for repeat guests or those referred by past satisfied customers. This is a testament to the personal touch that a host like Jeanie Blake might offer.

To inquire about any current availability, best rates, or potential offers, the most effective approach would be to contact Blakes Lodging directly. The personal nature of the establishment means a phone call or direct email could yield tailored information about your specific travel dates and needs.

Contact Information

To inquire about availability, make a reservation, or learn more about Blakes Lodging, prospective guests are encouraged to contact the establishment directly. The personal touch from the host, Jeanie Blake, ensures that inquiries are handled with care and attention.
