The rooms are clean and quiet. Apparently there are several types of rooms, ours had a private bathroom which was small but clean. I would definitely make sure to get a room with a private bathroom, some floors have a shared one. Speaking of floors, this hotel is a 5 story walk-up, just be aware when you book, if you can't handle stairs you need to say something about a room on the lower floors. The only negative is that the rooms are very small, like a tiny studio apartment. Ours did have a fridge and microwave, which was nice. There's not a daily maid service so you do have to replenish your own linens and TP, which is very easy to do, didn't bother is at all. They also don't always have a person at the front desk 24 hours a day, but they are available by phone if you need anything. The neighborhood is great, everything you need in walking distance. There's a target and Whole foods nearby if you need anything. Union Station is a short walk away for subway access, and there are several other stations in other directions if needed. It's very safe walking, even at night, nothing to worry about.
May 27, 2025 · Ryan MitchellI’ll start by saying that this place is not really a hotel, but more of a hostel. There is no elevator, we had to share a bathroom/shower with another room, and there are very few amenities. When we arrived, we were told that we were supposed to fill out some info via an email that would register us and give us info about our stay (including codes to get in, as this place does not use any keys/cards). I never received an email prior to our stay. The woman at the front desk had a condescending attitude. The room was tiny (I would imagine prison cells are bigger than the room we had), the bed was uncomfortable (very springy and you sunk to the middle), the door lock did not feel secure, the interior chain lock was missing the part that makes it useful, the safe didn’t work, the “closet” was tilted and didn’t have a handle, the towels that were provided had stains on them, and the floor and stairs were dirty. It says you’ll get charged $35 if you need anything cleaned. You also have to bring your trash down once your stay is over. There was hardly any staff present at any time (including the front desk).The only positives were the location of this hostel, and one of the staff members helped us carry our luggage to the 5th floor. If you’re looking to enjoy your stay in the city, I would encourage staying elsewhere.**The photo of the bed was taken after our stay. It was made prior to our stay**
May 10, 2025 · Peter MathysI made a reservation today through Expedia and canceled it five minutes later by mistake because I wanted to change the room type. Due to the non-refundable policy, my reservation was not reactivated. Expedia didn’t help, and when I called the hotel directly, they didn’t assist me either. They kept all my money and refused to either reinstate the reservation or issue any kind of refund. Terrible customer service and a completely unhelpful reservations department. I do not recommend booking at this hotel. It said clearly we don’t charge but we charge. Tricky

Booked through expedia and email communication with the staff was good regarding contactless check in. When we arrived there was staff there to assist another guest so it ended up being in person check in. Our room was on the first floor by the entrance. It was decent size with a good sized bathroom and clean. Noise level was Ok except I woke up the first night when some loud guests where entering around 11pm. Some people were raised in a barn. Can't blame that on the hotel. We found the location to be convenient to the subway. Price was very good for Manhattan. Would stay again.

After changing the room, I had to use a bathroom that was in terrible condition (not cleaned for at least a 10 days, no hanger whatsoever, no hand soap, really low water pressure, etc.). I was promised by the staff that they will take care of it but they didn't. I had to switch to another room, because the window of the first one wasn't closing, but I had to spend the night on an open window in New York (the city that never sleeps) in 10oC (50oF). The first technician said he'd tape the window so at least it stops the wind, butt didn't do it and second.tech. said that it was the first one's job to repair it. Still I was given access to a storage room to get an extra blanket. After changing the room (without windows) I was sent by the staff to the same storage room to get hand soap. No compensation of any kind. Nevertheless the room was small but OK (comfortable bed, a fridge, a wardrobe, safe, iron, coffees maker and microwave), except the electronic access system. Once during the night the door was unlocked remotely, and it locked again automatically after a minute.
