- Building Condition (Negative Reviews): Guests described the motel as looking "like an old apartment building" that is "run down."
- Pest Concerns (Negative Review): A significant highlight of concern was the discovery of a "bed bug crawling on her pillow," leading to an accusation of the "building is infested."

- Limited Amenities (Implied): While not explicitly detailed, the term "Efficiency Inn" and the lack of mention of extensive amenities suggest a focus on basic, functional lodging rather than luxury or a wide range of services.
Potential guests should weigh these diverse reports carefully, as experiences appear to vary significantly, particularly concerning cleanliness, maintenance, and staff interactions.
As a lodging establishment, Efficiency Inn likely operates with standard pricing models and may not publicly advertise complex "promotions" or "special offers" in the way larger hotel chains do. Its primary "promotion" is its role as a provider of basic, often budget-friendly, accommodation.
The core "offers" that can be inferred for Efficiency Inn include:
- Economical Lodging: Efficiency Inn aims to provide a relatively more affordable option for temporary stays compared to higher-tier hotels, making it accessible for budget-conscious travelers or those in need of emergency housing.
- Temporary Housing Solution: A significant "offer" is its acceptance by programs for "emergency housing," indicating its role in providing essential shelter when other options may be limited. This is a crucial social service it provides to the community.

For locals in New Jersey, particularly those in or traveling to the Elizabeth area, Efficiency Inn presents a unique and somewhat complex suitability, given the widely contrasting customer experiences. While its role in the community is clear, individual suitability will heavily depend on specific needs and tolerance for reported conditions.
One key aspect making Efficiency Inn suitable for certain local needs is its function as a provider of emergency or temporary housing. For individuals or families in immediate need of shelter, or those supported by specific programs, the inn serves a vital community role. In such circumstances, the immediate availability of a warm place to stay, as confirmed by one grateful reviewer ("Well heated and comfortable. The owner and his family are very kind and and nice. This is emergency housing for us. And we're thankful."), can be a paramount factor that outweighs concerns about amenities or long-term comfort. Its location on East Jersey Street also provides convenient access to local services and transportation within Elizabeth, which is crucial for those without personal vehicles.
However, for New Jersey residents seeking a standard, comfortable, and reliable hotel experience, the Efficiency Inn's suitability is highly questionable based on significant negative feedback. Reports of "bed bugs," a generally "run down" appearance, unpleasant "smells," "dirty towels," "damaged walls," and "no lamps" or working televisions, paint a picture that would deter many travelers. The inconsistencies in management demeanor also add an element of uncertainty to the guest experience. For a local planning a leisurely trip, a business stay, or a visit where comfort and hygiene are priorities, the stark warnings to "stay away!!!" and "Don't waste your money on this place!!!! Find better, there is better!" from a previous guest are crucial considerations.
In conclusion, while Efficiency Inn serves a crucial purpose for emergency and temporary housing needs in Elizabeth, its suitability for the general New Jersey traveler seeking a conventional hotel stay is significantly impacted by reported cleanliness, maintenance, and service issues. Locals should weigh their priorities carefully, considering whether a very basic, potentially challenging stay is acceptable for their specific circumstances, or if investing in an alternative with more consistent positive feedback would better suit their needs.

Efficiency Inn Reviews
This place is a DUMP. When I was homeless I was sent here by a program, the motel from first seeing it looks like an old apartment building. It's run down, it smells in both hallways I was staying in and the manager is rude. From day one my fiancé and I already knew it was going to be trash but we had no choice at the time so we went. The manager was nice the first time we came in, gave us the rules of the motel and we were given our room. We went inside and immediately checked the bed, bathroom and kitchen to make sure there was no bugs or rats etc. there was nothing suspicious at that very moment but that next morning at 5 am, my fiancé woke up in the middle of the night and found a bed bug crawling on her pillow. She killed it and we automatically bagged our bedding in separate bags and left. We spoke to the manager and told him why we were leaving and he seemed nervous that we might tell the program that we found bed bugs in our room so he asked if we'd keep quiet. We told anyway and he got mad after that, gave us nothing but attitude ever since that day. His wife gave us a new room, she was very nice never rude to us. We went out to the car at night came back and he starts asking me if I have an animal in my bag, calls us liars about the bed bug we found in our old room, very unprofessional. He's the worst kind of manager to have and his building is invested as far as I'm concerned or there wouldn't be a bed bug in the room. I would recommend to stay away!!! Don't waste your money on this place!!!! Find better, there is better!
Mar 18, 2017 · Cass CrewI am grateful that we are able to stay here. The room is quite clean. Well heated and comfortable. The owner and his family are very kind and and nice. This is emergency housing for us. And we're thankful.
Nov 26, 2018 · Howard CookDude.. at first, it's like really low budget and just another smelly motel--but the rooms are AWESOME! Huge flat-screen, bed are comfy (but a little short in height), there's a counter-top, microvwave, huge fridge and the heater is perfectly placed. The only thing I didn't like is the smell of cigarettes and the shower head not heaving much pressure.
Feb 15, 2019 · King XPlace needs a lot of fixing up! Plus the owner is very ignorant ! He jacked the price up to any price that he feels good about jacking the price up to what makes him a big profit! Total rip offs and its noisy and you see mice in the room from time to time SMH!
May 15, 2017 · CingtiMD@gmail.com SwaggerThe Efficiency Inn is a really great place to stay the owner, his wife and kids are all so wonderfully nice. The rooms are always clean. The prices are reasonable. Its close to grocery stores, clothing stores and dollar stores.
