Crowne Plaza Suffern-Mahwah, an IHG Hotel Reviews
We booked this hotel months in advance for a friend's wedding that took place Memorial day weekend. Check in was easy. The hotel lobby is beautiful. There's a Koi fish pond and a nice waterfall. Finding the elevator was easy. Rooms are clearly posted in the lobby for everyone to see. Then we get to the room. Immediately we notice the heat. I checked the thermostat which was set for "Cool" and the fan was on. Temperature was set to 65 degrees but it said 72 degrees in the room. The air conditioner never turned on for the rest of our stay. Before we left for the wedding I set the thermostat to 60. Wedding was at 5pm and we got back to the room the next morning around 2am. The room was still at a warm 72 degrees. It turns out everyone had the same problem. The ceiling tiles in the bathroom had mold around the edges. There were small curly hairs in the shower when we got in the room. There was blood on my pillowcase. The next day, checkout is at 11am. The thing I didn't like was the cleaning ladies knocking on my door starting from 9am to remind us that checkout was 11. The knocking took place every 20 minutes until we've had enough and left the room at 10. During checkout we heard everyone complain about the temperature of the rooms. I'd most likely never stay in this brand hotel ever again.
May 28, 2025 · Andy MojicaStayed here while visiting watchtower headquarters nearby. Was so impressed with how nice the facility was. Rooms were clean and quiet. Beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly. The breakfast buffet has a chef making to order omelets. The common area had an amazing water feature and koi pond. Would definitely stay here again.
May 30, 2025 · Dolores SabbagService at restaurant was amazing and they treated everyone like family. The location, and rooms all very nice and clean. Beautiful atmosphere as well as location of the hotel. Bathroom a little awkward. Everything was excellent except for the loud lobby area at midnight and the front desk people doing nothing about them being loud. They claim to have quiet hours but the guest don’t follow them. I couldn’t really sleep while I was here because of the noise. Probably won’t be staying here again:/
May 26, 2025 · Savannah SandovalThis hotel was a lovely experience. Considering the reasonable pricing for the room I was pleased to walk into a stunning lobby, was met with great service at the front desk, and enjoyed a renovated room, beautiful bathroom, and super comfy bed. I only stayed for one night, but if I needed to work for business, there was ample space in the hotel room to set up a workstation. The lobby opens into a huge atrium with a cafe and lots of comfy seating. I would definitely return!
Feb 12, 2025 · Heather HalversonThe Crown Plaza Suffern-Mahwah, is a nice hotel. It is convenient right off of the highway, but none of the noise. The hotel is located in Suffern New York just a few miles away from the NY/NJ border. The rooms are pretty average there is a microwave and fridge, coffee maker are all pretty nice. I also liked the cleanness of the room. There is a restaurant and bar on site. Both are very nice, the restaurant was great during dinner and had a nice buffet in the morning. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, they was able to accommodate for my early check-in and late check out times. Another plus was the market on site which was nice for a quick sandwich lunch and had other options as well. The price for the room was reasonable just around $100. I paid extra for the breakfast which I recommend. Would stay again!
