Situated in Jersey City, this hotel caters to travelers looking for a basic, economical stay with essential amenities. It’s a place where the focus is on providing fundamental comforts rather than extensive luxury, aiming to offer a practical solution for a night or a few days.
Understanding that every traveler has unique needs and budgets, this article aims to provide a comprehensive and factual overview of the Days Inn by Wyndham Jersey City / NYC Area. We'll delve into its location, the services it provides, its key features, and any special offers, all to help you determine if it aligns with your travel plans and expectations as a local New Jersey resident.
The Days Inn by Wyndham Jersey City / NYC Area is located at 750 Tonnelle Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07307, USA. This Tonnelle Avenue address places it on a well-known thoroughfare in Jersey City, offering certain advantages in terms of road access. For those driving, the hotel provides free self-parking on-site, a significant benefit in an urbanized area where parking can often be scarce or costly. The hotel is positioned to allow for relatively easy access to major routes, including US-9. It's approximately eight miles from the Lincoln Tunnel, providing a direct, though sometimes traffic-heavy, route into Midtown Manhattan. The Holland Tunnel is also within a few miles, offering another direct connection to New York City.
For guests relying on public transportation, accessibility might require a bit more planning. Reviews suggest that while bus stops (like JFK Blvd at Congress St) are within walking distance (around an 8-15 minute walk), this walk can involve navigating inclines. Bus routes like the 119 can take you to Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan, with travel times reported to be around an hour. While the hotel is in Jersey City, some travelers might find the commute to NYC to be longer than anticipated, especially if relying solely on public transport and not accounting for potential walking distances and hilly terrain to reach stops. For those with their own vehicles, its location does provide a direct connection to various Jersey City attractions such as MetLife Stadium, Liberty State Park, and the Liberty Science Center, which are minutes away by car. Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is also relatively accessible, typically within a 10-mile radius.

For New Jersey residents, the Days Inn by Wyndham Jersey City / NYC Area can be considered a budget-conscious option for specific scenarios. If you're a local planning a short trip to New York City and prioritizing cost savings over extensive luxury, this hotel offers a place to sleep and basic amenities. The complimentary self-parking is a definite advantage, particularly for those driving from other parts of New Jersey, as finding affordable and convenient parking near NYC or in Jersey City can be a significant challenge. This makes it a potential base for leaving your car and then utilizing public transport or ride-shares, despite the reported challenges in reaching transit stops.
While some reviews highlight concerns about cleanliness, staff demeanor, and the basic nature of the complimentary breakfast, it's important to set expectations for a value-oriented hotel. If your primary goal is to find an inexpensive room with a bed, a working refrigerator and microwave, and a private bathroom, this Days Inn could fit the bill. The quiet environment, as mentioned by some guests, could be a benefit for those seeking undisturbed rest. For locals attending events at nearby MetLife Stadium or visiting attractions like Liberty State Park, it provides a convenient, albeit no-frills, overnight solution. It serves as a practical, economical choice for a brief stay when the focus is on a bed for the night rather than a full-service hotel experience, especially if you're comfortable with its reported characteristics and prioritize saving money on accommodation.

Days Inn by Wyndham Jersey City / NYC Area Reviews
Terrible Experience – Unsafe and DishonestI had a very bad experience at this hotel. The room was nasty and felt unsafe, and the staff were extremely rude. I made a reservation, but once I arrived and saw the condition of the room, I immediately asked to cancel. They told me it was fine and that I’d get a refund. However, when I followed up the next day, they claimed I had stayed the night and refused to refund me—despite the fact that I stayed somewhere else. Very unprofessional and dishonest. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
May 15, 2025 · Sohei8bIf you're going to New York, do not book this hotel. Uber would cost you $80 to get you to times square. You'll have to Walk up a very big hill San Francisco style to get to the bus stop which is 15 minutes walk but it's a very big walk due to the big hills. You will need to take The bus (119) to Port authority which is 1-hour ride. Do not go cheap. Get a hotel in New York to save some time.Escalators and elevators is nonexistent you would be carrying your bags up stairs and possibly three flight of stairs. We got lucky and got the first floor and was able to walk to the hallway to get purified water. The free breakfast is a joke. It's just a paper bag with tasteless muffin, Old orange, And the best thing about that paper bag would be a orange juice.I got out at approximately 5:00 a.m. jfk airport and they charged me $70 for early check-in.The bed is basically just a box spring, The cleanliness we got lucky knowing that other people got dirty rooms, the fridge/microwave works, The locks do not work which makes it very unsettling. The only good thing about this hotel will be the tub. (Aesthetic pink hot tub and the jet works!) Also how quiet it was. It was SO QUIET.
Apr 16, 2025 · SwangTo say this place is a disaster is putting it mildly. I have always been a fan of Days Inn but I cannot believe this one is open to the public. There is not enough room for me to explain everything so please know all the reviews u read are accurate. They said the manager would b in on Monday so I called him and he challenged everything I said then hung up. At the very start if u get one of the 7 parking spaces u then have to climb 3 flights of outdoor stairs. I must have had over 200 hotel stays in the past between work and leisure and have never experienced this. This was literally like a bad dream. There is no way anyone from the Days or Wyndham corp office has visited and approved this horror movie setting advertised as a hotel!
Mar 31, 2025 · Cain NewtonThis place is absolutely disgusting. Unfortunately it was our only choice to stay safe for New Year's Eve and not have to drive. I wish we could have just left after seeing the room. Roaches everywhere! The whole building is filthy. When I mentioned the bugs to the manager in the morning he told me it was the first time he's heard of this! After looking at EVERY review, I can definitely say he was lying. DO NOT waste your money in this filth hole.
Jan 09, 2025 · Steve MattisonThis hotel could have been good in the day but it's beyond it use..Seemed like they were moving out a long term Tennant and the hallway smelled like cat urine. Our room for the most part was clean , ripped curtain and the floor could have been swept better. No coffee in the room and the only thing they offered was coffee from a machine...Was convenient to get into the City...
