This sense of privacy can allow dogs to feel more at ease as they explore and play.
Accessibility is a key factor for any local amenity, and while the park's location offers a degree of seclusion, it's important for visitors to be aware of the surrounding infrastructure. One user noted "the road is horrible over there are potholes and there’s nowhere to park." This feedback highlights potential challenges regarding the approach to the park and parking availability. Prospective visitors, especially those driving, should plan accordingly, perhaps by allowing extra time for navigation and seeking out suitable street parking in the vicinity. For urban dogs, such a large, dedicated area for off-leash activity is a significant benefit.
Walking Path: A walking path around the circumference of the park provides owners with a designated route to stroll while their dogs enjoy the open space. This path can also serve as a good warm-up or cool-down area for dogs before or after their energetic play sessions.

It is important to acknowledge user feedback, such as "the grass needs to be cut" and concerns about potholes and trash. While these point to maintenance challenges, they also underscore the community's desire for the park to reach its full potential as a premier local dog park. The core features, however, remain valuable for Paterson's dog-owning community.
As a public facility managed by the City of Paterson, the Dog Park at 14-50 Lawrence Street does not typically engage in commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the way a private business would. Its primary "offer" is the free and open access it provides to the community for dog recreation. However, dog parks often serve as venues for community-led initiatives or events that can be seen as beneficial "offers" to local pet owners.
These might include:
Free Dog Socialization Opportunities: The park naturally facilitates free socialization for dogs, which is a significant benefit for pet owners. Regular visits allow dogs to interact with various breeds and personalities, fostering better behavior and confidence.
Community Dog Meetups: Local dog owner groups or animal welfare organizations occasionally organize informal meetups or "playdates" at public dog parks. While not officially promoted by the park itself, these events offer a chance for pet owners to connect, share tips, and build a stronger local pet community.
Vaccination or Microchipping Clinics (Potential): Sometimes, local animal shelters or veterinary clinics, in partnership with city recreation departments, may host low-cost or free vaccination and microchipping clinics at or near public parks. While there is no current information indicating this for Paterson Dog Park, it's a common type of "special offer" associated with public pet-friendly spaces that residents should keep an eye out for via city announcements.
Pet-Related Educational Events: The city's recreation department or local humane societies might also utilize park spaces for educational workshops on responsible pet ownership, training tips, or pet health. These free sessions would be a valuable "offer" for new and experienced dog owners alike.
To stay informed about any such community-driven events or city-sponsored programs that might take place at or near the Dog Park, Paterson residents should regularly check the official City of Paterson website, particularly the Department of Recreation's pages, and local community bulletin boards or social media groups dedicated to Paterson pet owners. Dog Park Reviews
Nothing for dogs to do but run the grass needs be cute and the road is horrible over there are potholes and there’s nowhere to park on the trash over there is ridiculous.
Dec 08, 2024 · Cari's worldIt is a very well placed park out of the way for privacy to dogs.
Sep 14, 2024 · andrew kuhlFirst time bringing my 4 month old pitbull, it’s pretty boring not much for him to do, except roll around in the grass … lucky we brought his toys … Paterson needs to fix this place and the street
Sep 16, 2023 · Miosoti MoralesThis park has a lot of potential but is not maintained and is a complete mess. The grass is overgrown constantly, the trash is never picked up by the city so it’s overflowing, there are holes in many areas of the fencing, there is trash surrounding the perimeter of the park, there are zero trees for shade in the summer, no water spigot for the dogs. It is neglected by the city. A driver plowed through the fence rendering the small dog park unusable for about 6 months. There are piles of moldy woodchips that have sat for about 5 months. It’s not just unclean, it’s hazardous to dogs. The only time they even surface clean is when the St Hubert’s van comes through once a yearSuch a shame.
Jul 28, 2019 · Laura JasekCame thru to check it out with my friend that brought her dog. It's was good the way it was set up. One side for the bigger dogs and one side for the smaller. There enough room for the dogs to run around a toss a ball with your pet.
