Edge Hotel Introduce
The Edge Hotel, located at 514 W 168th St, New York, NY 10032, USA, stands as a highly commendable lodging option in the vibrant Washington Heights neighborhood. While the provided platform category is "Scenic Spot," it's crucial to clarify that the Edge Hotel functions primarily as a hotel offering accommodation services, rather than a traditional scenic attraction. However, its excellent service and comfortable environment contribute to a pleasant stay, enhancing the overall experience for guests exploring the dynamic "scenic spots" of New York City. The hotel can be reached at (212) 543-0005 or +1 212-543-0005.
The environment of the Edge Hotel is consistently praised for its cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere, which immediately puts guests at ease. Reviewers emphasize that "everything was spotless," indicating that "the management takes pride in maintaining a tidy and welcoming environment." This dedication to cleanliness creates a comfortable and reassuring base for travelers. While the rooms are noted as being "pretty small," a common characteristic for hotels in New York City, this is often seen as a minor trade-off for the convenient location and overall quality of service. The hotel's interior design, though not explicitly detailed, is implied to be well-maintained and conducive to a pleasant stay. The location on W 168th Street places guests in a lively part of Washington Heights, with access to local culture, dining, and transportation. The immediate surroundings offer an urban experience, typical of New York City, but the hotel itself serves as a clean and peaceful haven within this bustling environment. This focus on interior comfort and hygiene significantly contributes to a positive guest experience, despite any external urban characteristics.
As a hotel operating within the broad scope of a "Scenic Spot" platform category, the Edge Hotel's primary "service" is providing high-quality, temporary accommodation. While no direct "goods for sale" are mentioned as being sold on-site (like a gift shop or extensive retail), the hotel offers the essential service of a comfortable night's rest. The customer reviews highlight an "absolutely incredible staff" as a cornerstone of the hotel's service excellence. Staff members like Dominic and Luis are singled out for their exceptional hospitality, going "above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable." Dominic is commended for his warm greetings, willingness to "lend a helping hand," and thoughtful gestures such as "opening the door for me and my son" and "printing out coloring pages for my son," demonstrating a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction. Luis is also praised for being "fantastic and very accommodating," showcasing a team that "genuinely cared about ensuring we had a great experience." This level of personalized and attentive service is a significant value proposition and a key feature that distinguishes the Edge Hotel. While one reviewer expressed a wish for a fridge in the room for a child's milk, this "minor inconvenience was quickly overshadowed by the absolutely incredible staff," indicating that the human element of service significantly outweighs minor amenity omissions. The hotel also offers essential conveniences like easy access to the subway, making it a practical choice for exploring New York City, especially for those who are "not a big walker."
The features of the Edge Hotel, while perhaps modest in terms of expansive luxury, are highly effective in delivering a "delightful experience" for its guests. The most celebrated feature is the consistent cleanliness of the entire establishment. This fundamental aspect ensures a comfortable and stress-free stay, a critical factor for travelers in a city environment. Another core feature is the professional and welcoming staff. Their ability to make guests "feel welcomed and valued" and provide "great service all around" transforms a simple stay into a memorable one. The rooms, though acknowledged as "pretty small," are designed for practical use, aligning with the understanding that in NYC, guests typically "don’t want to spend most of your time in NYC anyway," implying that the rooms serve as a clean and functional base for exploration. The hotel's strategic location near the subway is a crucial feature, providing guests with "easy walk to the subway" access to New York City's extensive public transport network. This connectivity makes it convenient to reach various attractions, cultural sites, and business districts across the city. The hotel also appears to offer a "reasonably priced" option, making it an attractive choice for travelers looking for value without compromising on cleanliness or service quality. These features collectively create a compelling offering for a diverse range of visitors.
Promotional information for the Edge Hotel, based on these customer experiences, would strongly emphasize its key strengths. The primary promotional points would be its "spotless" cleanliness and the "top-notch service" delivered by its "fantastic" and "incredible staff." Testimonials from guests, such as "I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a clean and welcoming environment with top-notch service!" and "Great place to stay for our weekend trip to New York!", serve as powerful endorsements. The hotel's affordability ("Reasonably priced") combined with its excellent service and clean environment positions it as a smart choice for travelers seeking value. The convenient location with "easy walk to the subway" is another significant draw for promoting the hotel to those planning to explore the city without a car. While the specific amenities offered beyond the room itself are not extensively detailed, the focus on foundational qualities like cleanliness and service creates a strong positive impression. The hotel's phone numbers, (212) 543-0005 and +1 212-543-0005, would be central to its direct booking and inquiry channels. The reviews implicitly suggest that the hotel would benefit from highlighting the personal touches and attentiveness of its staff, as these are clearly what made stays memorable for many guests. By focusing on these core strengths, the Edge Hotel can effectively attract and retain guests seeking a pleasant and well-serviced accommodation experience in New York City.

One of the first things that struck me was the cleanliness of the hotel; everything was spotless, which immediately put me at ease. It’s clear that the management takes pride in maintaining a tidy and welcoming environment. While my stay was wonderful, I did wish that there was a fridge in the room for my son’s milk. It would have been a nice addition and made things a bit more convenient for us. However, this minor inconvenience was quickly overshadowed by the absolutely incredible staff.Dominic went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. He greeted us with a warm smile and always made sure to lend a helping hand; I truly appreciated him opening the door for me and my son. It was the little touches, like printing out coloring pages for my son, that really made our stay special. He definitely made us feel welcomed and valued.Luis was also fantastic and very accommodating. His assistance made our stay even more pleasant, and I could tell that he genuinely cared about ensuring we had a great experience. All in all, The Edge Hotel exceeded my expectations. While I would have loved a fridge in the room, the fantastic service from staff members like Dominic and Luis made our stay memorable. Apr 17, 2025 · Sierra SmithGreat place to stay for our weekend trip to New York! Reasonably priced, easy walk to the subway and I’m not a big walker. Dominic was super helpful! Great service all around. Rooms are pretty small but that’s not where you want to spend most of your time in NYC anyway.
May 25, 2025 · Helen HankeyWe stayed at this hotel primarily due to its vicinity to the armory since our daughter was running in a college track race. From the moment we arrived, Eric provided exceptional service. We had arrived early and initially wanted to just leave our bags for the day, however Eric was able to check us in early without hesitation. I work in management for a large hotel so my expectations are high however, Eric's family style service is exactly how it should be. He greeted us at the door to assist with our luggage , gave the run down of the local area and was helpful and friendly. The rooms were as expected for a boutique style hotel. They were clean, modern and we didn't really mind the lack of space. I will say the beds are a little bit uncomfortable so that might be an upgrade you should consider in the near future. I give this hotel overall five stars. Keep up the exceptional service !
Feb 23, 2025 · Melissa DischertThis was a great home base for a trip! Easy to take the train to do all of our sightseeing around the city. We (two women) always felt pretty safe walking from the subway to the hotel. Some rundown corners in the vicinity, but fine overall. The staff were incredibly nice! The room was small but super clean and had all we needed. We enjoyed all of the great food options near the hotel, and it was a highlight to get to know a neighborhood we wouldn't have ventured to otherwise. I would definitely stay here again.
Jan 18, 2025 · Chloe P.Great choice due to the fact my wife was having surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. As noted in other reviews the rooms are small, but comfortable and very clean. It was a great option to traveling back and forth everyday. The most important factor to me was the staff! Eric, Stefan, Luis and Domenic were extremely attentive and considerate, top notch individuals! I'm grateful for their 5 star hospitality, thank you very much Gentlemen
