Howard Johnson Inn Yankee Stadium Introduce
The Howard Johnson Inn Yankee Stadium is situated at 1300 Sedgwick Ave, Bronx, NY 10452, USA, placing it within a dynamic borough of New York City known for its rich cultural tapestry and, most notably, as the home of the New York Yankees. Its phone number is (718) 293-1100, and it can also be reached via mobile at +1 718-293-1100. This hotel caters to a range of travelers, from those visiting for a quick trip to sports enthusiasts looking to catch a game at the iconic Yankee Stadium.
As a hotel categorized under "Scenic Spot" on a platform that provides corresponding services or goods for sale, the Howard Johnson Inn Yankee Stadium positions itself as a gateway to experiencing the unique attractions of the Bronx. While not a scenic natural landscape itself, its proximity to significant landmarks and cultural sites makes it a strategic base for exploration. The "Scenic Spot" categorization here can be interpreted as facilitating access to a "scenic experience" of the Bronx, rather than being a scenic vista in its own right. It offers a place to stay while enjoying the sights and sounds of the area.
The Howard Johnson Inn Yankee Stadium's location is a primary factor in its appeal. It is notably close to Yankee Stadium, which is a major draw for many visitors. This allows guests easy access to baseball games and stadium tours, making it a convenient choice for fans. Beyond the stadium, the hotel is nestled in the West Bronx, an area characterized by its vibrant local life. It offers a glimpse into a genuine New York neighborhood, distinct from the bustling tourist hubs of Manhattan. The surrounding area includes classic red-sauce restaurants, contributing to the borough's "Little Italy" feel.
Public transportation is accessible from the hotel, with subway stations like Washington Hts-168 Street within a reasonable distance, allowing for connections to other parts of the Bronx and Manhattan. This connectivity is crucial for guests wishing to explore beyond the immediate vicinity. Nearby attractions include The High Bridge and High Bridge Water Tower, offering historical interest and scenic views of the Harlem River. Cultural sites such as the Bronx Museum of the Arts are also within reach, showcasing diverse contemporary art. For nature lovers, while the hotel itself is urban, parks like Highbridge Park offer green spaces for recreation.
The Howard Johnson Inn Yankee Stadium aims to provide fundamental services and amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. The hotel features a 24-hour front desk, offering convenience for check-ins, check-outs, and general inquiries at any time. For guests arriving by car, on-site parking is available, which is a valuable amenity in New York City.
In terms of in-room amenities, guests can generally expect air conditioning, which is essential for comfort during warmer months. Rooms typically include a private bathroom with a bath or shower, along with complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer. A flat-screen TV and telephone are standard for entertainment and communication. Many rooms feature parquet flooring and may offer city views. Some room types come with a work desk and an iron/ironing board. Free Wi-Fi access is generally provided throughout the property, allowing guests to stay connected.
While a microwave is not consistently available in every room, as noted in some customer reviews, the hotel does offer a continental breakfast in the mornings. This complimentary breakfast can be a convenient option for guests starting their day. Laundry facilities are also listed among the amenities, which can be particularly useful for longer stays or for travelers needing to refresh their wardrobe.
The hotel is primarily characterized by its practicality and accessibility, especially for those with an interest in the Yankee Stadium area. It positions itself as a budget-friendly option for travelers seeking a no-frills stay with key necessities covered. The presence of a lift ensures accessibility to upper floors for guests with luggage or mobility considerations. The hotel maintains a non-smoking policy for the majority of its rooms, though some smoking rooms may exist, and it's worth noting that some reviews highlight issues with lingering smoke odors in certain areas. Pet accommodation is generally not permitted at this property.
The property often offers various room configurations, including those with King or Queen beds, catering to different group sizes or individual preferences. The emphasis is on providing basic, clean lodging for a convenient stay.
The hotel's promotional aspects often highlight its location as its strongest selling point, particularly for those attending events at Yankee Stadium. Its affiliation with the Howard Johnson brand suggests a certain standard of economy lodging. Online booking platforms frequently present the Howard Johnson Inn Yankee Stadium as a sensible choice for travelers prioritizing location and value.
However, an objective introduction must also consider guest feedback. Recent customer reviews, as provided, indicate some recurring concerns. Issues such as the smell of cigarettes in rooms, even in non-smoking accommodations, have been noted by multiple guests. Temperature control in rooms, with some describing them as "freezing cold" and a lack of readily available extra blankets, also appears to be a point of discomfort. The absence of a microwave in rooms is a reported inconvenience, as is the lack of additional security features like extra locks on room doors. Some guests have also mentioned the absence of water bottles in rooms or effective curtains. These points suggest areas where the guest experience may fall short for some, highlighting that while the hotel offers fundamental amenities, there might be inconsistencies in their execution or availability. It's advisable for prospective guests to manage expectations regarding these specific aspects.
Despite these points, other reviews sometimes praise the helpfulness of the staff and the overall cleanliness, or at least the potential for cleanliness in renovated rooms. The hotel serves as a functional place to stay, particularly for a short visit. Promotional efforts will likely emphasize the convenient location for major events and attractions in the Bronx, positioning it as a practical choice for budget-conscious travelers who prioritize being close to their destination.

Sep 23, 2024 · Morris LevineIt was nice, but the smell of cigarettes 💨 was terrible 😞. Also way to cold 🥶 I don’t even turn the ac on and it was way more colder than outside. No water bottles for the guess or curtains 😞🥲 no extra lock in the door 🚪🙃
Mar 28, 2023 · Lala RThere is no closet or a place to hang your clothes...no iron or ironing board..no safe in the room either. Good for 1 night stay. Small fridge in the room. The microwave is outside the room by the ice machine. No extra lock in the room / door.
Dec 03, 2022 · Maritza Cabrera-NegronI have been in N.Y. for what seems like forever finishing Yankee Stadium. I have stayed in 8 or 10 different hotels. This hotel is my favorite for the money. Clean, friendly, and close to work. The comments about the neighborhood are only true for people from small town america. If you want to see bad... Try the HoJo on Boston Rd... That makes this hotel look like the Ritz. Seriously though. This is a great place. Keep in mind...
May 14, 2021 · Aaisha YaduvanshiThis place is a dump! How it earned 3 stars is beyond me. I am not a prude or a tourist ,I am a die hard new Yorker and actually stayed in this hotel when it first opened about ten years ago and at that time I relished in the hideaway location ,convenient onsite parking and clean rooms. But this stay was a disaster. I expected some wear and tear but honestly what I encountered was disturbing. Upon entering the lobby, I was acosted by the VERY pungent odor of marijuana. ( i am here with my family, a.k.a young kids ) next ,I met with the receptionist ,who's attitude was luke- warm at best! I suppose she is exhausted from answering the same questions "NO, there is no elevator, YES, you Have to stop by the lobby EVERYDAY of your stay to reprogram your door keys , and Look right there for the wifi code "Ugggghhhhh! So then we enter the room and are shocked by its condition. Mystery stains on the discolered ,peeling wallpaper a wardrobe the rocked Back and forth on a slanting floor, a toilet cover propped on the toilet, not attached to anything and enough dirt and grime to warrant complaints from ever member of the familySeriously , the colors and locations of these stains made me pause ,pull out my Lysol spray and spray EVERTHING! I believe wholeheartedly that if anyone ran a blue light over this place it would light up like a Christmas tree.Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else! The parking and tucked away location have lost cannot make up for the absolute garbage can that is this hotel !!!!!!!I did however notice after leaving my disgusting room and passing in the hallway past the open door of an adjacent room that at first glance it didbt look as bad as the one I was in. Too bad for me it was on the last day of my stay so I didn't request a room change .
