Extended Stay America - Long Island - Melville Reviews
My friend saw a roach in the bathroom! The heater smelt funny when turned on and the room was freezing. It’s not a nice hotel by any means they didn’t even have an ice maker what hotel doesn’t have an ice maker! For the price of the hotel it’s extremely competitive in the Long Island market to be having service like this. I do not recommend staying here by any means. There are much better hotels throughout Nassau and Suffolk. I mean the Hilton right next door is ions better!
Mar 26, 2025 · Liz WWe stayed there two years ago, when we moved, for what turned out to be a few hours. The place was gross. The lobby or whatever it is was black, red and gold with a dirty looking man sleeping in a chair that looked like a throne. The whole place looks like a hotel you'd seen on an episode of Law and Order SVU. And it was recently on the news. Scary.I wish I had read the reviews.
Apr 12, 2025 · Carol SI stayed at this place a decent amount of time in the past, primarily due to the ease of check-in and customer service provided by two specific individuals. Unfortunately, things have changed, and my recent experience was the complete opposite. The staff member was an unfamiliar face.I was unable to check in because they do not accept state-issued temporary IDs. While I understand this is policy and not the employee's fault, the manager decision not to refund my money despite me not checking in or receiving any services was disappointing. This was further complicated by the fact that I booked through a third-party service, which informed me that the hotel declined to issue a refund, which was a possibilityThings to consider are that there have been some updates, like a new elevator and a new room key system. However, the hotel still has issues, particularly with cleanliness. The sheets are only washed once a week, which contributes, among other things, to a smell in the rooms.I knew of these issues, and I would suggest using the laundromat in the hotel to clean your linens or book with another hotel 🎲🎲
Dec 31, 2024 · Shawn WVery noisy hotel. Got woken up throughout the day and early morning to loud engines, landscaping services, etc. Even heard doors slamming and things banging from the hallways. Otherwise, it’s a fine hotel for a pretty good price. If you’re a light sleeper I’d look elsewhere. It’s cheap, what do you expect
May 08, 2025 · thewaterman122Whole place sucked. I booked a room for a friend coming to visit and they gave him problems right off the bat at check in. I had already paid full price, which wasn't worth it at all btw. But then they was asked to pay another hundred deposit upon arrival which we were never notified about. My card was already on file but the guy kept saying they couldn't use it they needed ID. Then the manager was called, manager realized a card actually was on file and then they used it to pay. So I'm not sure why the man at the front desk was giving us problems about that in the first place if it was possible to check in without all that nonsense. That was the first thing. Second, the room was not worth the price I had to pay at all. A smallroom with a queen sized bed and small kitchenette i believe for two nights... in the condition that it was in, coming out to almost $500+. Yeah no, but it was too late to cancel. Lights flickered, weird smell, bathrooms were gross, no shampoo, conditioner, soap... nothing. looked like it was straight out a horror movie. My friend literally told me "it was like coming home to cold dinner and a dirty house." After traveling for so long it's not the kind of experience you'd want to have at all. I normally don't write reviews like this but I genuinely felt so terrible that I had picked this place for his stay. Do yourself a favor and just book a room at the Hilton next door.
