Fahnestock Winter Park

1570 NY-301, Carmel Hamlet, NY 10512, USA

4.0
Worth the 80 mile trip from Nassau County. Came there to snowshoe the moderately rated orange trail. You better be in shape to take on the so called "Hill" at the beginning of the trail because you will get tested early as you make your way to the top. The rest of the trip is up and down hilly terrain. Prepare to loose some layers before you complete the course . Its a decent workout if you make it that. Otherwise , give youself some extra time to enjoy the forested solitude . They only negative was that some key intersections were not clearly marked and you may find yourself a little confused. It makes it even more fun !I did not do any cross country but everyone doing it seemed to be having fun or getting in a good workout . - Bob Young
