Welcome to Fairview Park, a true gem nestled in the heart of Staten Island, New York. For New Yorkers looking to escape the urban hustle and embrace the tranquility of nature or engage in invigorating outdoor activities, Fairview Park stands as a prime destination. This sprawling green space offers a diverse array of amenities and features, catering to individuals and families alike, making it a cornerstone of the local community. More than just a park, Fairview Park is a place where nature's beauty converges with recreational opportunities, creating a vibrant hub for health, wellness, and community connection. Whether you're seeking a peaceful stroll through wooded trails, an energetic game on the courts, or simply a breath of fresh air, Fairview Park provides an inviting and accessible environment for all.
Fairview Park has a fascinating history, transforming from its industrial past to the vibrant green refuge it is today. Once part of the larger Kreischer Clay Works and the site of the grand "Fairview" mansion, the land has undergone significant development to become the modern, amenity-rich park we know. The park's development in the early 2000s aimed to address the need for active recreational spaces on Staten Island's South Shore, which traditionally had more natural areas. A significant transformation project in 2019 further enhanced its facilities, making it a truly comprehensive recreational and natural asset for the community. The park also encompasses the Sandy Ground Woods, named in honor of Sandy Ground, the nation's oldest continuously settled free Black community, adding a layer of historical significance to its natural beauty. This rich history, coupled with its modern amenities, truly makes Fairview Park a unique destination for Staten Islanders.
Fairview Park is conveniently located at the intersection of Bricktown Way & Tyrellan Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10309, USA. Its strategic position makes it highly accessible for residents across Staten Island and beyond. For those relying on public transportation, various bus routes service the immediate area, providing easy connections. Drivers will find ample parking available within the park's designated lots, particularly the lot located at Bricktown Way and Tyrellan Avenue, ensuring a hassle-free visit. The park’s proximity to key roadways also makes it a straightforward drive from many Staten Island neighborhoods, offering a quick escape into nature without a long commute. The design of the park's entrances and internal pathways also prioritizes accessibility, ensuring that visitors of all mobility levels can comfortably navigate and enjoy the facilities.
The park's location is particularly appealing due to its integration with the surrounding natural landscape. It offers scenic views of the Outerbridge Crossing, especially during the late fall and winter months when the trees are bare. This blend of natural beauty and urban accessibility makes Fairview Park a truly special place for New Yorkers looking for a local escape.

For instance, the Fairview Park Pickleball Club sometimes hosts events like "Dink for Pink," a pickleball tournament supporting charitable organizations. These types of events, often announced through local community boards, park signage, or social media groups dedicated to Staten Island activities, provide opportunities for both recreation and community engagement. Fairview Park Reviews
As a regular user of the court, I was disheartened to see that someone has defaced the surface someone vandalized the tennis court by spray-painting yellow pickleball lines over it. spray-painting additional yellow lines intended for pickleball. the court—clearly marked and designated as a tennis court—but has also made it extremely difficult and confusing to play tennis properly. The overlapping lines create a chaotic and distracting environment that significantly impacts gameplay. there are already three designated pickleball courts located right next to this tennis court. It is unnecessary and unfair for individuals to alter and damage the tennis facilities when appropriate space has been provided for pickleball elsewhere!

Mar 02, 2024 · Al BBeautiful park. Definitely worth visiting multiple times! A lot of soothing bird songs/sounds. Check out the cute gym set up straight back to the right. There are 5 tables for playing chess or checkers as well. You'll leave here better than you arrived, gauranteed or your money back!
Mar 24, 2022 · Sean EvansPark facilities are top-notch including health fitness trail. However small hiking trail across adjoining woods is underwhelming (overgrown with greenbrier).
