Hilton Garden Inn New York/Manhattan-Midtown East Reviews
We definitely expected more and were pretty surprised with how our stay turned out. We never got the digital room key so we had to go up front to get a room key. There are only 2 elevators so for our stay, it took a few minutes to get one and upon checking in we waited on a line of people to get into one. One elevator didn't work properly so we had to go to another floor and walk down the stairs. The room was small, but decent. The sheets had the tags on my face, not at the end of the bed so it was just annoying. The air conditioning was loud and made it difficult to sleep. The doors slamming at 6am, the cleaning people talking loudly keeping us up, it was just a very nosy hotel. The man at check in was nice, but everything else was just "eh." We expected more, and really don't understand how it took us 10min to get an elevator down to check out! The only good thing is it's in a great location and we felt safe walking around. Other than that, it's nothing special and I'm sure there is better in the area
Jun 01, 2025 · Dana BryantThis hotel was perfect for our stay! The location is incredible as you are close to the subway and able to walk and do so much in Midtown! Our room was a tad bit small but honestly was just fine for us. Room was clean and comfortable and house keeping came every other day. We chose not to eat hotel breakfast and ate at local places each morning but there is free coffee in the lobby each morning. Would recommend.
Feb 20, 2025 · Emilie VThis hotel is good for the price and what it's needed for, a good nights sleep. We stayed one night after seeing a show at MSG and everything was fine, the room was very clean and the bed was decently comfortable, and for the area it was quiet. Sean at the front desk was so nice. Very informative and helpful, A+ to him on customer service. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend. My only complaint was that there was no coffee ready until 7, but my boyfriend and I are up unreasonably early 😆
Mar 22, 2025 · bryanThe beds were comfortable, the rooms are small but clean. The location could not be beat since it's walking distance to great restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, times square, modern art museum, Frick collection, fancy shops, the park, zoo, grand central terminal, library, etc. It was the only moderately priced hotel in the area that I could find with both a microwave & mini-fridge so that was a big plus for me. The staff was friendly but they seem understaffed at the front desk and in housekeeping. I thought the breakfast was very mediocre & over priced. The worst part was the shabby entrance with lots of scaffolding, and there was often big bins of laundry service lining the door. But overall, I would come back again because of the great location, price, & clean rooms.
Apr 16, 2025 · A PerezMy room was really noisy. I think the elevator's noise that was periodically filtering into my room. The air conditioning was very noisy too, it was hard to sleep when it was on. I had to buy earplugs to be able to sleep. The breakfast was really appaling. They call it "buffet", but only a very limited selection of food and drinks were available. Basically just sausage, bacon and scrambled eggs, no veggies at all.
