Kamway Lodge Introduce
Kamway Lodge, situated at 40-36 77th St, Elmhurst, NY 11373, USA, offers a lodging option in Queens, New York. Accessible via phone at (718) 672-0800 and mobile at +1 718-672-0800, this establishment positions itself within a "Scenic Spot" platform category, which, in an urban context, often signifies its advantageous location relative to transportation hubs, cultural immersion, or access to vibrant neighborhood experiences rather than traditional natural landscapes. This introduction will provide an objective and detailed overview of Kamway Lodge, exploring its environment, services, features, and relevant promotional information, drawing insights from available online data and varied customer feedback.
The environment surrounding Kamway Lodge is a key factor in its appeal, particularly aligning with its "Scenic Spot" categorization in an urban setting. Located in Elmhurst, the lodge is in close proximity to the bustling neighborhood of Jackson Heights, renowned for its incredible diversity, vibrant street life, and extensive culinary scene. One customer review emphatically states, "The location for Kamway Lodge is its biggest selling point - located 5 minutes walk from a major subway interchange makes getting to downtown Manhattan a breeze. Jackson Heights itself is an amazing place to visit on its own. Really, 5 stars ain't enough for what you're paying in terms of location." This feedback underscores that the "scenic" aspect here is the unparalleled urban connectivity and the rich cultural tapestry of the surrounding neighborhoods. The "major subway interchange" refers to the Roosevelt Avenue/74th Street station, a significant transit hub offering multiple subway lines (E, F, M, R, 7) that provide direct and rapid access to Manhattan and other parts of Queens. This accessibility makes Kamway Lodge an ideal base for exploring the city. The immediate vicinity of the lodge would feature a mix of residential buildings, local businesses, eateries, and shops, reflecting the lively character of Elmhurst and Jackson Heights. While not offering sweeping natural vistas, the environment is rich with urban experiences, cultural immersion, and convenient access to the entire city, which is the defining "scenic" quality for a lodging in this location.
In terms of services, Kamway Lodge provides what one might expect from an economy lodging option, with a focus on basic necessities for a comfortable stay. Customer reviews offer mixed perspectives on the quality of these services. While one review expresses significant concerns, stating, "Needs some serious renovations everything is falling apart management please I beg of you please fix this place up," and calling for a "full 360 makeover," another states, "we were pleasantly surprised by our stay." This suggests that while there may be areas needing improvement, the fundamental services provided can still meet guest expectations for a budget stay. Essential services would typically include basic room cleaning, check-in and check-out procedures, and front desk assistance, though the extent of staffing and amenities like daily housekeeping or concierge services might vary. The phone and mobile numbers, (718) 672-0800 and +1 718-672-0800, indicate direct communication channels for guest inquiries and support. The provision of a TV in rooms, as mentioned by one reviewer ("Hey at least you have a TV and curtains lol"), points to basic entertainment options. The emphasis on "good bedding" in one positive review also suggests attention to a fundamental comfort aspect. The overarching service proposition seems to be providing an affordable place to sleep with excellent access to public transport, appealing to travelers prioritizing location and budget over luxury amenities.
The features of Kamway Lodge are geared towards offering functional and affordable accommodation. According to one positive review, "The rooms, whilst not luxurious, have adequate space, supply good bedding, have an en suite (in the tripple room), a balcony and are kept very warm in the winter." This highlights several key features: rooms with sufficient space, comfortable bedding, private bathrooms (at least in triple rooms), and the surprising inclusion of a balcony, which can be a valuable amenity in an urban setting. The ability to keep rooms "very warm in the winter" also suggests effective heating. However, it's crucial to acknowledge the contrasting feedback from another review, which points out significant issues: "Replace the floor panels get a new faucet, replace the mattresses, clean the walls." This indicates that while some features may be present, their condition might be inconsistent or require substantial upgrades. The presence of curtains, as humorously noted, is a basic but essential feature for privacy and light control. Despite the need for renovation, the lodge's primary distinguishing feature is its strategic location near the 74th Street subway station. This proximity to a major transit hub makes it a highly practical choice for travelers. The review mentioning "the only hotel within the 74st station" further underscores this unique locational advantage. The "cute cat" mentioned in a review also suggests a potentially unique, informal, and friendly atmosphere, which can be a charming feature for some guests, adding a personal touch to the stay.
Promotional information for Kamway Lodge would heavily lean on its primary selling point: its unbeatable location for exploring New York City on a budget. The phrase "5 stars ain't enough for what you're paying in terms of location" from a customer review is a powerful testament that would undoubtedly be central to any promotion. The lodge would be advertised as "a less expensive option but still get a lot out of their time in NYC," appealing to cost-conscious travelers. Its direct access to downtown Manhattan via the major subway interchange would be a key highlight. The vibrant cultural experiences available in Jackson Heights, just a stone's throw away, would also be promoted as a significant draw for guests looking for authentic local immersion, fitting well within the "Scenic Spot" urban interpretation. While promotional materials might subtly address the need for renovations or focus on the positive aspects of the rooms (adequate space, good bedding, en suite, balcony), the primary emphasis would remain on value and location. Contact information, (718) 672-0800 and +1 718-672-0800, would be readily available for direct bookings. The lodge could target travelers who prioritize convenience and affordability over luxury, presenting itself as a practical and well-connected base for urban exploration. Despite critical feedback on maintenance, the recurring theme of exceptional location and value would form the core of Kamway Lodge's promotional message, especially for those who see New York City itself as the ultimate "scenic spot" to be explored.

Dec 05, 2023 · Nora LallyThere are plenty of reviews that would tell you this place is horrible to stay in but we were pleasantly surprised by our stay. The location for kamway lodge is its biggest selling point - located 5 minutes walk from a major subway interchange makes getting to downtown manhatten a breeze. Jackson heights itself is an amazing place to visit on its own. Really, 5 stars ain't enough for what you're paying in terms of location. The rooms, whilst not luxurious, have adequate space, supply good bedding, have an en suite (in the tripple room), a balcony and are kept very warm in the winter. Can highly recommend this place to people looking for a less expensive option but still get a lot out of their time in NYC.Lastly, the cat was very cute.
Dec 17, 2023 · Ben ChrispGreat customer service. They helped me with parking during one of the busiest time of the year!!! Quiet and convenient near public 24 hours public transportation. The owner helped me personally with some cycling questions as I used my bike going in and out of Manhattan.i will go back!!!George
Dec 16, 2022 · Geo PapAfter reading some of these negative reviews I became apprehensive about staying here. Here's the thing: it's essentially a hostel not a hotel. The service is a bit different from a hotel. But I found all the staff (both desk and cleaning) to be friendly and accommodating, especially Michelle at the front desk.My five person dorm is bright, comfortable, clean and has no signs of bedbugs or cockroaches. I was especially worried about that. Bathroom is neat.Of course the great thing about a dorm hostel room are the different people you meet, and I've met some great ones.I booked about three weeks in advance and paid $29 per night... I don't believe that is possible anywhere else in Queens.Overall, the Kamway far exceeded my expectations. Incredible value. Highly recommended. Just understand the differences between a hostel and a hotel. And the price can't be beat.
Mar 11, 2019 · R KochI wish I could give this place a negative 5 stars. They advertised this hostel as if it were a hotel. They had me believe that it was $45 for a room with an extra bed, bathroom and parking. I drove 5 hours from NH to get a shower, good food, relax then head out. AT LEAST THE PEOPLE WHO LEFT REVIEWS GOT TO STAY! There was no parking whatsoever. The only car in that 1 space they had, had to be the owners. The man didn't speak a word of English. He started to speak to me in his language as if I spoke Chinese. It took him at least 10 minutes to confirm my reservation... eventhough I showed him everything on my phone. It was like speaking to a wall. The man made it seem as if I didn't belong there. He then mentioned that the rooms were only for 4 people and I needed to find 3 more people in order to stay. I kinda figured something was up because of the price and the fact that the phone rang out 3x when I attempted to call prior to my check in time as requested. False advertisement and I should've went with my gut. Much respect to those who gave this spot more than 2 stars. You guys are very kind. STAY AWAY!!!
