Malfitano Park Reviews
Mostly quiet retreat on the edge of downtown Harrison, within walking distance of Avalon apartments. It’s a nice addition and landscape created from a former swamp. Circular path. Jetty that reaches out into the remnants of the swamp with some nice scenery. Picnic table in middle, near edge of pond.
Aug 30, 2023 · Samuel RogersA very big open space with a huge meadow in the middle. Path goes all around the perimeter, where so far I have seen walkers and bike riders. Not crowded for its very recently been opened. There's a lagoon that leads somewhere and accessible by the floating pier. There's an observation deck to view whatever will visit there. Off on the other end across the bridge, there's an alcove with a picnic table. The bridge is over the end of a small pond where I saw a turtle 🐢 perched on a twig or rock. Don't forget your bug repellent on hot and humid evenings. And it's 🐕 friendly with a doggy station stocked with bags at the foot of the entrance. The one thing I did not like was that the parking lot was not paved - it's covered with large gravel (not good on the tires). Let's hope that the town is aiming to pave it - with all the tax dollars being earned in part to all the new housing construction 🏠 going up.
