MARRIOT BONVOY

2395 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY 10468, USA

4.0
A basic hotel room. Coffee and a small fridge in the room. Would not recommend their breakfast. For the prices, you could go get authentic NY food on any corner. Their food is mostly frozen and heated in a microwave. Paid $15 for an egg sandwich that was practically inedible. The shower/tub was very slippery as well. Had to hold on to things to not slip. Location is awesome. Short walk to many, many great locations, including tourists areas. Housekeeping was great. I would definitely recommend the hotel itself based on the location. - Linda B

MARRIOT BONVOY Introduce

The Marriott Bonvoy located at 2395 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY 10468, USA, serves as a significant "Scenic Spot" for travelers and local users seeking accommodation and convenient access to the vibrant Bronx borough. While not a traditional natural scenic spot, a hotel, especially one well-situated, becomes a "Scenic Spot" by offering a comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding attractions, thereby providing a valuable service as a gateway to the local environment and its offerings. The services and goods offered by this Marriott Bonvoy property primarily revolve around lodging, comfort, and accessibility to the broader Bronx experience.

The environment of the Marriott Bonvoy at 2395 Grand Concourse is shaped by its prime location on the iconic Grand Concourse, a historic boulevard in the Bronx. This central position places guests amidst the architectural heritage and cultural vibrancy of the borough. The "Grand Concourse" itself is a landmark, featuring Art Deco buildings and wide avenues, contributing to a distinct urban environment. The hotel's interior is described as having "beautiful interior," suggesting a focus on aesthetics and comfort within its walls. Guests can expect a modern and well-appointed setting that offers a peaceful retreat from the city's energy. The general environment is one of urban convenience, with the hustle and bustle of city life immediately outside, yet the hotel aims to provide a serene and welcoming space within. The area surrounding the hotel is rich with local life, offering a genuine New York experience with numerous local eateries and shops within a short walk. While the immediate hotel grounds might not feature extensive gardens or natural landscapes, its proximity to various community attractions defines its environmental appeal as a "Scenic Spot." The hotel's location is praised as "awesome" and a "short walk to many, many great locations, including tourist areas," indicating that the surrounding urban environment is a key asset for guests looking to explore the Bronx and beyond.

In terms of services and features, the Marriott Bonvoy property provides essential amenities for a comfortable stay. Each room typically includes a "coffee and a small fridge," catering to basic guest needs. Housekeeping services are noted as "great," ensuring a clean and tidy environment for guests throughout their stay. The check-in process is described as "very smooth," indicating efficient and welcoming front desk operations. Guests are advised to "claim complementary Dental and shaving kit also small water bottles" during check-in, highlighting additional thoughtful touches. Parking is available, though it is "little pricey," yet compensated by "valets service all day in and out," with cars usually retrieved "within 10 minutes" if valet service is called in advance. This valet service is a significant convenience in an urban setting. While the hotel offers breakfast and other food options, one customer review indicates dissatisfaction, describing the "food is mostly frozen and heated in a microwave" and an "egg sandwich that was practically inedible" for which $15 was paid. This feedback suggests that guests seeking authentic New York dining experiences might prefer to explore the "many, many great locations" and "authentic NY food on any corner" available just outside the hotel. Another safety concern raised was a "very slippery" shower/tub, necessitating caution. Despite these specific points of feedback regarding dining and bathroom safety, the core services of accommodation, efficient check-in/out, good housekeeping, and valuable valet parking contribute to a generally positive guest experience, particularly given its location.

The distinctive features of the Marriott Bonvoy at 2395 Grand Concourse are primarily its prime location and its status as a recognized brand within the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. Its address on the Grand Concourse places it strategically for access to numerous Bronx landmarks and attractions. This includes being close to Yankee Stadium, a major draw for sports fans; Fordham University, a prominent educational institution; the Bronx Zoo, a world-renowned wildlife conservation park; and the New York Botanical Garden, a significant botanical research and living museum. Its proximity to these "tourist areas" makes it a central hub for visitors. The hotel's "beautiful interior" contributes to a pleasant atmosphere that aims to provide a sense of luxury or comfort, even if the room features are described as "basic hotel room." The efficiency of services like valet parking, with quick car retrieval times, is a notable feature for urban travelers. The hotel's ability to accommodate guests who have missed flights, as one reviewer mentioned, highlights its readiness to provide immediate and accessible lodging solutions, further solidifying its role as a practical "Scenic Spot" for unforeseen travel needs. The fact that Qatar Airways, as mentioned by a reviewer, declined to give accommodation to passengers who missed their flight and they subsequently checked into this property located in "downtown" and having "beautiful interior" demonstrates its readiness for accommodating travelers for whatever reason. The positive sentiment regarding location ("I would definitely recommend the hotel itself based on the location") outweighs specific critiques about internal dining, indicating that the hotel's geographic advantage is its strongest feature.
