A "hotel" in today's landscape is more than just a place to sleep; it’s a temporary home, a hub for business, or a launchpad for local exploration. It needs to offer convenience, essential amenities, and a level of comfort that meets the expectations of its guests. Ramada by Wyndham Fairfield NJ strives to fulfill this role for those staying in or passing through the Fairfield area. For New Jersey locals, knowing about this establishment provides another option for when you need extra space for family gatherings, a quiet retreat for a local event, or simply a change of scenery. The hotel aims to provide the fundamental services and facilities that guests expect from a widely recognized brand, offering a practical solution for various accommodation needs within our vibrant state.
Ramada by Wyndham Fairfield NJ is conveniently located at 38 2 Bridges Rd, Fairfield, NJ 07004, USA. This address places it within the borough of Fairfield in Essex County, a well-situated area that offers excellent connectivity throughout northern New Jersey. The "2 Bridges Rd" in the address is particularly indicative of its strategic location, hinting at easy access to major transportation arteries.
Fairfield is known for its accessibility, being at the nexus of several significant roadways. The hotel's proximity to Interstate 80 (I-80) is a major advantage, providing direct east-west travel across New Jersey and connecting to New York City. Additionally, U.S. Route 46, a key east-west corridor, and New Jersey Route 23, which runs north-south, are both easily accessible from Fairfield. This robust network of highways ensures that guests can navigate to and from the hotel with relative ease, whether they are traveling for business, visiting local attractions, or attending events in the wider New Jersey metropolitan area.
For New Jersey residents, this location means that Ramada by Wyndham Fairfield NJ is a practical choice for accommodating out-of-town guests, providing a convenient base for them to explore local points of interest without extensive travel. Its accessibility also makes it suitable for local business travelers or those attending events in the area, offering a reliable stay within close proximity to major corporate centers and venues in Essex and Morris counties. The hotel’s strategic placement allows for efficient transit, minimizing travel time and maximizing convenience for all visitors.
Based on typical Ramada by Wyndham brand standards, and understanding that public reviews highlight operational challenges, the intended services offered by Ramada by Wyndham Fairfield NJ would generally include:
- Guest Rooms: Providing standard hotel room accommodations, typically featuring beds, private bathrooms, and basic furnishings.
- Complimentary Wi-Fi: Standard offering across most hotel brands to ensure guests can stay connected.
- Television with Cable Channels: For in-room entertainment.
- Air Conditioning/Heating: Climate control within rooms.
- Complimentary Breakfast: Many Ramada locations offer a complimentary breakfast, though details would need to be confirmed.
- Housekeeping Services: Regular cleaning of guest rooms (though reviews suggest inconsistencies).
- Front Desk/Reception: A 24-hour front desk for check-in/check-out, inquiries, and assistance.
- Parking: On-site parking for guests.
- Vending Machines/Snack Options: Availability of snacks and beverages (though one review notes billing issues).
- Laundry Facilities: Self-service laundry for guest use (a review mentions a "laundry room").
- Fitness Center (Potential): Many hotels in this category offer a basic fitness facility.
- Business Center (Potential): Access to computers and printing for business travelers.
It is important to note that customer reviews indicate significant concerns regarding the actual execution of these services, specifically mentioning issues with cleanliness (dirty sheets, stained curtains, brown tub bottom, dirty carpets), maintenance (squeaky doors, chipped paint), and customer service (long check-in lines, unready rooms, billing disputes, manager unavailability). Prospective guests should consider these recent public comments when evaluating the level of service to expect.
Considering the provided customer feedback, the "features" and "highlights" of Ramada by Wyndham Fairfield NJ are unfortunately mixed. While the intended features align with a standard Ramada property, the actual highlights from a customer perspective reveal significant areas needing improvement.
Potential/Intended Highlights (based on brand expectation):
- Brand Recognition: Being part of the Wyndham family provides a degree of familiarity and perceived standard.
- Convenient Location: Its address on Two Bridges Road offers good access to major highways (I-80, Route 46, Route 23), which is a key advantage for travelers commuting through northern New Jersey.
- Essential Amenities: The hotel aims to provide fundamental comforts such as Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and potentially complimentary breakfast.
- 24-Hour Front Desk: The presence of a front desk is crucial for guest support at any time.
Reported Challenges/Areas of Concern (based on customer reviews):
- Cleanliness Issues: Major concern noted by multiple guests, including dirty sheets, stained curtains, uncleaned tubs, and dirty common areas (hallway carpet, crumbs).
- Maintenance Problems: Squeaky doors, chipped paint on doors and walls, and a continually slamming laundry room door were reported, indicating maintenance deficiencies.
- Service Delays: Long check-in lines and rooms not being ready past official check-in time point to operational inefficiencies.
- Billing Discrepancies: An erroneous charge for snacks and difficulty resolving the issue, coupled with a lack of managerial availability, highlight significant customer service issues.
- Pest Issues: A mention of gnats in the room is a considerable concern for guest comfort.
It is crucial for prospective guests to weigh these reported challenges against the convenience of the location and the brand name. The reviews suggest that while the physical location might be a benefit, the current condition and operational management of the hotel are significant deterrents for many.

For New Jersey residents, evaluating the suitability of a local hotel like Ramada by Wyndham Fairfield NJ requires a careful balance of its inherent advantages and the publicly reported challenges. While the recent customer reviews highlight significant areas of concern, its suitability for locals largely hinges on its strategic location and potential for specific, short-term needs.
The most compelling reason for New Jersey locals to consider this hotel is its exceptional accessibility. Located right in Fairfield, with easy access to major highways like I-80, Route 46, and Route 23, it serves as a highly convenient hub. This makes it suitable for:
- Accommodating Out-of-Town Guests: When family or friends visit from out of state, this location minimizes their travel time once they arrive in New Jersey, placing them close to key transportation arteries and local amenities.
- Business Travel: For local professionals needing a temporary base for business in Essex County or nearby areas, the hotel's location offers practicality, allowing for efficient commuting to corporate parks and business centers.
- Event Participation: If you are attending a local event, wedding, or conference in Fairfield or neighboring towns, the Ramada can serve as a convenient overnight stay, eliminating a late-night drive home.
- Temporary Housing Needs: In situations like home renovations or unforeseen circumstances, a local hotel can provide a short-term solution for nearby residents.
However, locals should be aware of the serious issues raised in customer reviews regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service. These suggest that while the location is a significant plus, the overall guest experience may be compromised. For those considering a stay, it would be prudent to manage expectations regarding the hotel's current condition and service levels. For New Jersey residents who prioritize location and brand recognition over potentially pristine conditions, and who might only need a very brief, functional stay, the Ramada by Wyndham Fairfield NJ offers a practical option. However, for those seeking a truly comfortable and problem-free experience, it may be advisable to contact the hotel directly to inquire about recent improvements or to explore other local alternatives.

Ramada by Wyndham Fairfield NJ Reviews
I was truly disappointed in my 2 night stay here. If this hotel wants repeat customers, they need to show that they care about them through their service. From dirty sheets, to a loudly squeaking door, to a continually slamming door for the laundry room right across from ours, etc. AND, I was erroneously charged money for snacks that I did not charge to the room. When I saw this on the bill after the fact and called them, they told me there's no proof that I didn't purchase those items. What??? I asked for a manager & was told that there was no one available. To be continued...
May 26, 2025 · Mindy RosierIn my opinion, SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!! I arrived at the hotel at 4pm to a long line in the lobby. Check-in was at 3pm and people were still waiting for their rooms because they weren't ready due to not being cleaned yet. This is very inconvenient because I was in town for an event. The hallway carpet was stained and had visible crumbs everywhere. The room doors and walls had lots of chipped paint. The room itself was disappointing. The bottom of the tub was brown, the window curtains had stains. The sheets looked very old and unclean, and the room had gnats. I was highly disappointed! I didn't even stay for the night. I checked out early, wasting my money. Please find another spot, this hotel is not managed well!
May 25, 2025 · Nardara RossIt's a place to sleep and take a shower, can't say much more than that. The shower gets nice hot water and the water pressure is good. Pool is murky and the hot tub is no longer there. The floors in the rooms are dirty, the chairs damaged and stained. Room never cleaned in spite of asking the front desk for it. The hallways are filthy. Breakfast is okay but offers little variety. Do not expect quality when you see that price point.
May 13, 2025 · Katy GildayPool was nice and warm. Room is big. Front desk staff polite and knowledgeable. Breakfast was great. Waffle maker, fruits, cereal, toaster coffee juice bagels jelly and yogurt. Not bad at all !!! Breakfast staff could be more attentive and around for guest questions and concerns also for refilling empty items. The Mexican restaurant walking distance is toooo die for must go to for Great food !!! Will be back for our summer trip.
Feb 24, 2025 · M FrWorst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Upon arrival, it took two hours to get our room keys. We were already pre-checked in and just had to go to the desk to pick our keys up. This process took two hours and as we were told rooms were “still being cleaned”, which was frustrating because we were from out of state for an event we had to get to. The lobby was full of people who had been waiting even longer for their keys. When we were waiting, the front door to the hotel would not close and continually opened (automatic door). There were also people hanging around outside that clearly were sketchy and yelling at cars in the parking lot. When we finally got our keys and went upstairs, we noticed the elevator was very overdue for its inspection and was very rickety. The second floor reeked of cigarette smoke, weed, and animals. The carpets and walls were damaged, absolutely filthy and clearly not cleaned in a very long time, and covered in grime and stains. The doors to the rooms were also filthy and damaged. Very noisy in the halls. Items also discarded in hallways. Our room upon entering was over 90°. The heater was on and blasting, mind you, in late May weather where the AC should be on. The room itself smelled heavily of cat urine. We were in there less than 5 minutes and had runny eyes and noses from the smell. The floor of the room was sticky and the windows were smeared on the inside with handprints and other questionable substances. The curtains also were filthy. Our window was stuck open and unable to be shut. There was no screen, therefore allowing any insects and whatever else wanted to come in, inside. The bedsheets were covered in stains, as were the pillows, which were so small they were more like accent pillows for a couch. There was black mold in the shower and on the bath mat. Bed was nothing but springs. Unable to be slept in.The photos online when I booked this hotel were NOT from this location. The rooms and exterior featured are from another Ramada, a typical one you would stay at. These rooms were so outdated and filthy, I can see why they found different images. If people saw what really was inside, no one would book a night. The microwave was extremely outdated and the fridge’s freezer area had frozen urine inside it. Absolutely disgusting! We checked out immediately upon bringing our luggage upstairs and got another hotel in the area to stay at. We were told we would be refunded, but have yet to see the refund. This was a horrible experience and completely unsanitary and needs to be checked by the health department. I advise anyone looking for somewhere cheap to go to pay a little more and book down the street. Your health isn’t worth the budget price… this is not your typical Ramada and it is appalling it holds their name.
