Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel Reviews
Days after staying here my card was being used to make purchases. I had to cancel my card and dispute charges. A house keeper also went in my room without me ever requesting one and I was missing a $25 food voucher that I left on my bed for the second day of my stay. When I asked if they could replace the voucher since I didn't use it they said no. They have some shady people working at the front desk. The rooms were nice and location was okay but next time I won't stay at this location because of the shady people they have working here.
Apr 26, 2025 · Jet SonflyLet’s start with the good, the location is nice. That’s about it…Rooms are small and dirty. Don’t expect it to be cleaned unless you ask before a certain time, every day... Nobody will tell you that.Food and beverage is way overpriced. $55 for 2 espresso martinis in Harlem is pretty insane. They charge 18% gratuity without saying anything so if you don’t pay attention you can easily end up paying 35% in tips or more.I have even been charged $7 for the water bottle in the room, which I would’ve thought was a free welcome bottle like in pretty much every other hotel in the world… there was no tag or anything saying it was for sale.Anyway there’s plenty of other hotels in NYC, this one is to be avoided.
Apr 10, 2025 · PierreLet me first start by saying that the hotel is beautiful and the energy I normally feel when I come to NYC, was intensified by the ambiance, smiles, and friendly professional greetings I received after traveling on the road for multiple hours. With it being a busy evening with it being Valentine's Day, the front desk staff handled it with professionalism and a welcoming smile. The concierge that evening was very helpful and informative on where I should and could park my 15 passenger van at 11 pm. The rooms were spacious, clean, fresh smelling and beautifully designed. The professionalism of the housekeeping staff was stellar. I was elated that they greeted me with a smile every time we walked past each other in the hallway and answered my questions and assisted me with a smile. My family and I were here in NYC for a wedding that was at The United House of Prayer Church, located across the street from the hotel. This made my stay even better. Being next door to the great Apollo Theater and my family's Church. I would like to give an enormous thank you to Ms.T and Mr. K at the front desk with their professionalism. I would also like to thank Ms.A the Host and Mr. L the server in the dining hall for making my family feel special. They both went out their way to make sure my mom and 11 year old cousin enjoyed their experience. The food was delicious. All the staff in the dining hall were wonderful professionals. Last but not least is the manager Ms.T. She made a difference. My little cousin was the announcer in the wedding and she was able to help her get over her nervousness and practice before the ceremony. And I think because of it she did a great job. Also, I appreciate how when my mom was stressed and she was able to comfort her and put her at ease. Also,I want to say thank you to the manager for handling one of my family members who was frustrated. It was handled with professionalism, patience and good common sense. This Harlem location is definitely one I would recommend to my Church, family, and friends. My family and I will be staying again soon. I applaud the management and her team for a job well done! I pray they are all rewarded for their efforts, professionalism, & going above and beyond.
Mar 04, 2025 · Lakiah RobinsonThis wonderful hotel was like stepping back in time where jazz was king, the decor was perfectly colored & designed, the rooms were large, the beds soft, the staff was pleasant & the food was delicious. 125th street is sort of dark, dingy & bustling with people. Once you enter the doors of the Renaissance, you're just transported into beauty and elegance
Apr 19, 2025 · Dianne ThompsonThe location was awesome, easy access to the train and bus, easy to find, safe and lots of great restaurants and entertainment near by.They need help with service and quality tho. The rooms were decent upon arrival, but we were missing cups, towels and soap. Every day our room was “cleaned” we had to ask for something that was missing. The air conditioning did not work properly, most nights were ok because they were in the 60s however if the team creeped above 75, the room was so hot and did not cool down. The Victoria restaurant was super fun and food was pretty good
