Promotions or Special Offers
While the Royal Atlantic Beach Resort maintains competitive pricing for its prime Montauk location, specific, publicly advertised "promotions" or "special offers" can vary seasonally and are often best found through direct inquiry or major booking platforms. As a resort in a popular seasonal destination, its pricing is typically influenced by demand, time of year, and local events.
However, here are common ways guests might find value or specific offers:
- Seasonal Pricing: The most common "promotion" is the fluctuation in rates based on the season. Off-peak months (e.g., typically December-February, excluding holidays) generally offer lower rates than the peak summer season (June-August). Booking during shoulder seasons (spring and fall) might also provide a balance of good weather and more favorable prices.
- Online Travel Agencies (OTAs): Websites such as Booking.com, Kayak, Priceline, and Expedia often feature the Royal Atlantic Beach Resort. These platforms may run their own limited-time deals, flash sales, or loyalty program discounts that could apply to the resort. It's always advisable to compare prices across multiple platforms.
- Direct Booking Incentives: Sometimes, contacting the resort directly via phone (+1 631-668-5103) or checking their official website (if available for direct booking) might reveal exclusive offers, such as a discount for booking directly, a complimentary amenity, or flexible cancellation policies not available elsewhere. However, based on available public data, prominent direct booking offers are not consistently advertised.
- Extended Stay Discounts: For guests planning a longer vacation, some resorts in Montauk may offer reduced nightly rates for stays exceeding a certain number of nights (e.g., a week or more). Inquiring about such possibilities directly with the resort is recommended.
- Package Deals: While not explicitly detailed, resorts in tourist-heavy areas might occasionally partner with local attractions or activities to offer package deals (e.g., a stay-and-play golf package, or a fishing charter package). These are less common for a resort of this type but worth a discreet inquiry.
It is important to note that the provided customer review mentioning a staff member stating the hotel "thinks" it's open the following week suggests that operating hours, especially in the off-season, can be variable. Therefore, confirming operational status and any specific promotions directly with the resort is always the most reliable approach.
The core value of the Royal Atlantic Beach Resort often lies in its prime beachfront location and essential amenities at a price point that is generally more accessible than many other oceanfront properties in the exclusive Hamptons region.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
For New Yorkers, the Royal Atlantic Beach Resort in Montauk stands out as an exceptionally suitable choice for a getaway, offering a compelling blend of accessibility, location, and practical amenities that resonate with the local sensibility for value and authentic experience. It understands what city dwellers seek in a coastal escape: direct access to nature, a relaxed atmosphere, and convenience.
Firstly, its paramount suitability lies in its unparalleled direct oceanfront location. For New Yorkers accustomed to crowded public beaches or indirect access to the coast, the Royal Atlantic's 1,200 feet of private beach is a significant draw. It means less hassle, more immediate relaxation, and the simple joy of stepping out of your room directly onto the sand. This is a rare and highly coveted feature in Montauk, providing an exclusive and serene environment for sunbathing, swimming, or simply enjoying the sound of the waves.
Secondly, its strategic placement in Montauk makes it incredibly convenient. The ability to walk to the village center means that guests can easily explore Montauk's unique shops, vibrant restaurants, and casual cafes, experiencing the local charm without the constant need for a car. This walkability is a true bonus, allowing for spontaneous explorations and a genuine immersion into the laid-back Montauk lifestyle that locals appreciate. The straightforward journey from NYC via LIRR, Hampton Jitney, or a manageable drive further cements its accessibility for a quick weekend escape or a longer vacation.
Moreover, the resort’s pragmatic approach to amenities makes it highly suitable for New Yorkers. The inclusion of kitchenettes in many rooms is a game-changer for those who prefer the flexibility and cost savings of preparing some meals, especially families. This allows for a more home-like experience and reduces reliance on dining out for every meal. The two heated outdoor pools offer excellent alternatives for swimming and recreation, ensuring enjoyment even when the ocean is too cool. Free on-site parking is another practical highlight, alleviating a common stress point for those driving to the Hamptons.
While some past feedback suggests the decor might be dated or service can be less effusive, these aspects are often secondary for locals who prioritize location, functionality, and value. The "comfortable bed" and "balcony with beautiful view" highlighted in reviews are often the core elements that truly make a stay worthwhile for New Yorkers seeking a memorable coastal experience rather than opulent interiors. It caters to a desire for genuine Montauk charm over unnecessary frills.
In conclusion, the Royal Atlantic Beach Resort provides a foundational, authentic Montauk experience that is perfectly aligned with what many New Yorkers seek in a beach getaway. Its direct beach access, convenient location to the village, and practical amenities like kitchenettes and free parking offer immense value. It's not about being the newest or most luxurious, but about providing a comfortable, accessible, and genuinely enjoyable oceanfront escape that allows locals to fully embrace the beauty and tranquility of Montauk.

Royal Atlantic Beach Resort Reviews
The hotel was fine overall but nothing extraordinary. The room was clean and functional, though the décor felt a bit dated. The bed was comfortable, and the addition of a kitchenette was definitely a plus for quick meals. The highlight was the balcony with its beautiful view of the beach—that alone made the stay worthwhile. The staff was polite, but their service lacked warmth and attentiveness. Check-in was smooth, but it didn’t feel especially welcoming. On the bright side, the location is fantastic—just steps from the heart of Montauk, with Left Hand Coffee only a short walk away.If you’re looking for a convenient and reasonably comfortable place for a short stay, this hotel gets the job done. Just don’t expect anything too memorable beyond the view.
Dec 27, 2024 · carlos borgesWould not recommend. In fact I never stayed here. I called this hotel and the man who answered was like "hello" in a rude tone. I thought i called some random persons cell number. Overall rude and not helpful. Told me he "thinks" the hotel is open the following week. Hung up with zero manners at the end. Whoever runs this place needs to talk to this guy cause I didn't come here at all because of him.
Mar 23, 2025 · Brian JWonderful spot. I shared a beach front room with a writing friend. She likes room hot with the heater running, so l missed the continuous sound of the ocean. Staff courteous, helpful, & friendly everyone was actually nice! Visited The Bakery, John's Pancakes!, & my favorite gift shops on the same block as Anthony's Pancakes. Downstairs for one Excellent & choice$ and pass Anthony's to the corner for gifts & necessities. Yes, I went to IGA, 7-11 & Herb's Mkt.> for the best fried chkn! Rincon by Jitney stop for a good late meal. Royal Atlantic calls me back to MTK & and hopefully, despite fascists leanings in 2025's potus, AmeriCa will survive & I'll be back to enjoy the RABR & beauty of MTK, the END!
Apr 08, 2025 · SuzanneHonestly reading the reviews I was a bit nervous of our stay. My wife booked it without reading any of them -_-. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived and the room was way better than I expected. The rooms have been updated a little bit and I will say they are not as bad as some people are saying. I will say the shower and tub could be updated but it wasn’t terrible. I would also say some of the outlets were very loose and the TV could be updated but all in all the room was nice. Beds are very stiff just a heads up. The hotel could use an update on the outside as some of the boards when walking were loose. Id say with a few minor updates this place can be a 5 star place. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if the price was right. It is very close to everything in Montauk and a Goldbergs right around the block!
Dec 03, 2024 · Jeremiah FriegorgeousPros:The location is excellent- right on the beach and it is also walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The pool is lovely- it faces the water and it has a bar/grill right there.Cons:Dated: The hotel needs a serious renovation. They did update the rooms with new carpets and furniture but the ceilings are cracked and the bathrooms are old. Our dresser drawers did not stay shut so we had to keep watching where we were walking to not hit our legs. Our balcony had broken furniture and the floor boards were loose.Breakfast: The breakfast was very misleading- the website states that it is included. However, it was not a buffet, but a sit down to order breakfast and half the menu items required an additional fee and gratuity was also not included. The breakfast area was extremely old and unappetizing- it was dark and dingy and the ceiling had so many cracks and water stains- it was a very unpleasant place.Service: The cleaning people were extremely nice however it seemed that they were very short staffed. One of the days our room was not cleaned until almost 3 o clock. The front desk did not answer our calls most of the time, and when they did they were not very helpful.Overall, stay here for the excellent views and location, but look elsewhere if you want a more updated and clean hotel.
