Sonder One Platt Apartments Financial District Introduce
For New Yorkers and those planning an extended visit to the city, finding comfortable, convenient, and truly spacious accommodation can be a significant challenge. The typical small hotel rooms often fall short for stays longer than a few nights, especially when you desire the flexibility of a home away from home. This is where Sonder One Platt Apartments Financial District steps in, offering a compelling solution for extended stays in the heart of Lower Manhattan. Unlike traditional hotels, Sonder provides apartment-style living designed to cater to longer durations, bridging the gap between a short-term rental and a hotel. Situated in the vibrant Financial District, this establishment aims to deliver a "best price/quality ratio in lower Manhattan," providing guests with ample space, essential amenities, and a comfortable base from which to explore or work in the city. It’s an option that prioritizes comfort and practicality, understanding the unique needs of those requiring more than just a transient overnight stay.
Sonder One Platt Apartments Financial District is perfectly positioned at 1 Platt Street, New York, NY 10038, USA. This address places it squarely in the Financial District, a dynamic neighborhood that seamlessly blends historical charm with modern corporate energy. For both business travelers and leisure visitors, the location offers unparalleled convenience. It's mere steps away from Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchange, and numerous corporate headquarters, making it ideal for those on extended assignments.
Accessibility is a major highlight of 1 Platt Street. The Financial District is one of New York City's most transit-rich areas, ensuring effortless commutes and exploration. Sonder One Platt Apartments Financial District is designed to provide a more self-sufficient and comfortable stay, particularly appealing for extended visits. While specific hotel-like services such as daily maid service might vary compared to traditional full-service hotels, the focus is on apartment-style conveniences.
Fully Equipped Kitchens: A significant advantage, as noted by a guest, is the presence of a "kitchen just in case." These kitchens typically come with essential appliances like a refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, and often a dishwasher, along with basic cookware and utensils, allowing guests to prepare their own meals and save on dining out.
Spacious Rooms/Apartments: Guests consistently highlight the "huge rooms, not the usual small NYC apartments." This extra space provides distinct living, sleeping, and often dining areas, making longer stays much more comfortable than in a standard hotel room.
Comfortable Beds: "Comfy beds" are a recurring positive, ensuring a good night's sleep, which is crucial for both leisure and business travelers.
In-Unit Amenities: While not explicitly stated in reviews, extended-stay apartments typically include in-unit amenities such as a private bathroom, ample closet space, and often a living area with a sofa or seating.
Quiet Nights: The ability to have "quiet nights (with some low noise)" is a valuable service in bustling New York City, contributing to restful sleep.
Digital Concierge/Support: Sonder operates on a tech-forward model, often providing support and assistance through an app or online platform, allowing guests to manage their stay and request services efficiently.
Housekeeping (Frequency Varies): While not daily, extended-stay properties usually offer periodic housekeeping services to maintain cleanliness during longer visits.
Sonder One Platt Apartments Financial District distinguishes itself with several key features and highlights that contribute to its appeal for extended stays in New York City.
Exceptional Price/Quality Ratio: A recurring theme in reviews is the "best price/quality ratio in lower Manhattan." This is a significant highlight in a city known for its high accommodation costs, making Sonder One Platt an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers seeking value without compromising on space or essential amenities.
Generously Sized Accommodations: Unlike the notoriously compact hotel rooms often found in NYC, guests rave about the "huge rooms, not the usual small NYC apartments." This emphasis on spaciousness, even in upgraded queen rooms, provides a genuine sense of living and working comfort, crucial for extended visits.
In-Room Kitchen Facilities: The presence of a kitchen in each apartment is a major draw. This feature offers immense flexibility and cost savings, allowing guests to prepare their own meals, store groceries, and maintain a more regular routine, akin to living in a private residence.
Stunning Rooftop View: The "amazing view from rooftop" is a significant amenity, offering a spectacular vantage point of the iconic Lower Manhattan skyline. This communal space provides a wonderful opportunity for relaxation, photography, or social interaction, adding a touch of luxury to the stay.
Financial District Location: Being situated at 1 Platt Street in the Financial District provides unparalleled access to major business hubs, transportation networks, and a vibrant neighborhood with dining, shopping, and cultural attractions, including the Seaport District.
Comfortable and Clean Environment: Reviews consistently praise the "comfy beds" and the overall cleanliness of the rooms, indicating a commitment to guest comfort and hygiene. This fundamental aspect ensures a pleasant and restful experience.
As an extended stay apartment-hotel, Sonder One Platt Apartments Financial District's approach to promotions and special offers typically differs from that of traditional nightly hotels. While specific, publicly advertised "promotions" may not always be prominently displayed, Sonder's business model often incorporates built-in value for longer stays.
Generally, extended stay properties offer more favorable rates for longer booking durations. It's advisable for potential guests to:
Book Directly: Check the official Sonder website for Sonder One Platt. Often, direct bookings or bookings made through their proprietary platform might have exclusive rates or access to promotions not available on third-party sites.
Long-Term Stay Discounts: Inquire about discounted rates for stays exceeding a certain number of nights (e.g., 7 nights, 14 nights, or 30 nights). These are common for extended-stay models.
Seasonal Pricing: Like all accommodations in New York City, pricing can fluctuate based on demand, time of year, and major events. Booking during off-peak seasons or further in advance might yield better rates.
Corporate Rates: If you are traveling for business or associated with a company, inquire if Sonder offers corporate rates, which can provide significant savings for business travelers.
Sonder's App/Email List: Signing up for Sonder's email newsletter or downloading their app might provide access to exclusive offers or flash sales that are periodically released.
While a guest review mentions being "willing to spend about $10 extra per night for the upgraded queen room" and finding it "worth it," this reflects an internal upgrade option rather than a general promotion. It's recommended to contact Sonder directly or visit their official booking portal for the most accurate and current information on any available promotions or long-stay discounts.

For New Yorkers and those planning an extended stay in the city, Sonder One Platt Apartments Financial District presents a highly suitable and compelling lodging option. The "amazing view from rooftop" adds a touch of luxury and a fantastic communal space for relaxation. Sonder One Platt Apartments Financial District Reviews
If you leave something in the apartment after check out, they are stealing it. Read my reviewProbably the best price/quality ratio in lower Manhattan. Huge rooms, not the usual small NYC apartments.Amazing view from rooftop. Comfy beds, quiet nights (with some low noise).Staff is very bad. Or at least the cleaning managers. We left some children toys in a drawer, reported immediately via phone. No reply later even though promised. Went back there personally a week later, asked them to take a look in the drawer. They did not, as a guest was staying their they said (but why can't they ask the guest to take a quick look?). They promised to get back to us the next day. From the look of the receptionist I was pretty sure that will not happen. Indeed they never did get back to me. So effectively, they stole our stuff. That's the reason for my low rating. For a place related to Marriott, this is totally unacceptable.
Jun 02, 2025 · John EmmerichPretty good stay overall. I always like to stay somewhere with a kitchen just in case, even if I don’t plan on using it. The room was pretty spacious and very clean, we spent about $10 extra per night for the upgraded queen room and I’d say it was worth it. Good amount of space and comfortable. I’d say they could upgrade the couches a little as they are very small and not really pleasant to actually use.The biggest issue I had was with the concierge. There was one team member who was fantastic (I don’t know their name but they have blue hair) who was very kind, welcoming, and helpful. Other concierge members gave the vibe that they obviously didn’t want to be there, and were very short and cold.Overall good stay. I’d say the biggest downside was the majority of the concierge staff.
May 07, 2025 · Jack EllerMy room was infested with large cockroaches. When I reported the issue and asked to move, they gave me the run around and told me no other rooms were vacant. Through hours of chat in their app, which they say is the best way to contact them, while I was stuck in a room with roaches literally running across the floor, because I pushed and pushed, it came to light that there were in fact several other rooms. I was eventually moved to a new room on a higher floor that had clearly been vacant all along. At 1:30 in the morning after I literally begged for hours. The room was also incredibly noisy. A fact which they acknowledged with permanently affixed placards on each dresser telling you the rooms are equipped with earplugs and white noise machines. Neither room had either item though. They also messaged me during the important meeting i was in town for to tell me I needed to vacate my room immediately because it was past check out time even though my booking was through to the next day. Because of the way the room was booked, I worried this might happen so to avoid it, I spent one hour on the phone the day before I arrived to make sure it was all taken care of. I was assured there would be no need to vacate between check-out and check-in, but alas, they still messaged me causing unnecessary panic. I was later told it was an automated message with barely an apology.Additionally, the room lacked basics like water (other than tap) or body lotion, which is pretty standard at any hotel, let alone one charging over $800 per night. When I asked for a refund, mostly due to the roaches, the hotel manager was rude and condescending. They offered me less than half. There are MUCH better options downtown.
May 29, 2025 · Carrie FarlerNice location but front desk makes you walk around the building if you walk through the “wrong” entrance when there’s only one sign posted inside on printer paper, nothing on the outside near the doors. Feel like paying nearly $800 a night I should be able to walk through either entrances. Especially when there’s only 2 exits availableThe rooms are nice, weird set up but very spacious compared to other hotels. The Sonder concierge was great, but the building front desk employees are rude and not very helpful. There is definitely some entitlement/contempt from them if you’re not a resident. There should be a better layout if they don’t want residents and hotel visitors interacting but I find that kind of difficult since there’s only one lobby. Sonder’s concierge is left in the closet room. The ac units are pretty loud and do a mid job of keeping the place cool. They’re actually louder than the construction outside. I think the additional $60 to have housekeepers come and replenish the amenities and clean is a little steep. Our room and hotel lobby smell a little dank. And the hallways have an old gym locker room odor. The Sonder lounge is nice but there’s not much other than a full kitchen(no snacks or waters) and a pool table with some lounging area and printers. Not us but another visitor had to request a different room bc she had something fall from the ceiling and it almost hit her head.Honestly if it wasn’t for the negative interactions with the front desk I would’ve rated this hotel higher. It looks like they want visitors to enter thru the doors closest to the construction work.
Apr 17, 2025 · Don AlThe apartment was simply lovely. It was indeed quite spacious, extremely clean, and well equipped. Bosch appliances in the kitchen. Each of the staff was gracious and helpful. There was some construction noise at night, but it ended at a reasonable hour. We would definitely stay here again. Lots of food options in the neighborhood.
