As a private municipal park for Town of Orangetown residents, Veterans Park and Playground doesn't typically run commercial "promotions" in the traditional sense. Its "offers" are more about the value and exclusivity of its resident-only access and the programs offered through the Town of Orangetown Parks and Recreation Department.
Exclusive Resident Access: The primary "special offer" is the park's exclusivity to Town of Orangetown residents. This ensures a less crowded environment and higher quality of maintenance, directly benefiting taxpayers in the town. Non-residents generally cannot use the park, or may be required to pay a daily or annual fee if permitted as a guest of a resident or through a special non-resident pass (veterans, however, are often exempt from such fees across Orangetown parks with proof of service).
Included Amenities with Residency: Access to the splash pad, newly renovated playground, sports fields, and dog park is effectively "included" as a benefit of being an Orangetown resident, without additional per-use fees for these specific amenities (excluding any organized league fees or specific program registrations).
Summer Programs and Camps: The Parks and Recreation Department utilizes the park for various summer programs and camps (e.g., Orangetown Day Camp, Half Day Specialty Camps). These often have structured registration periods and fees, with discounts potentially available for early registration or multiple program sign-ups, benefiting resident families.
Community Events: The park frequently hosts various town-sponsored community events, which are generally free or have a nominal fee for participation, aimed at fostering community spirit among residents.
Facility Rental: While not explicitly detailed for this specific park, many municipal parks allow residents to rent pavilions or certain areas for private parties or gatherings. Information on any associated fees or booking processes would be available through the Parks and Recreation Department.

Veterans Park and Playground (private for town residents) Reviews
Such a great family park. The newest splash pad is a fabulous addition( wish it was there sooner when my first 2 were younger) and the newly renovated play area is fantastic for all ages and welcoming for children with disabilities. There’s a new snack stand open as well, haven’t tried yet but heard good things. There is a dog park as well! You do have to be a town resident so please be prepared to show ID
Aug 11, 2023 · Samantha ColeReally nice playground. Two swing sets and several setups for different age ranges. It’s mostly fenced in but there’s access to a man-made lake with a fountain so you have keep a close eye on the younglings. Parks & Rec also advised me that they don’t do daily cleaning and it shows after a rainfall. Pools of water with leaves and debris sit at the bottom of the slides so bring some paper towels.
Aug 10, 2020 · Marianna C. ArangoI don't even know what to say. I have never experienced not being allowed to take my children to a park because we were not residents of the town. Park was completely empty and you have to show proof of residency to enter a playground. Someone from the town needs to take a hard look in the mirror. Not sure how it benefits anyone to turn away children from a playground. What is this accomplishing?
Jul 21, 2024 · eric peresiperAlways a good time and I love that residents can bring in friends for free!
Jul 05, 2023 · DanaThe town should be ashamed of themselves for making a children’s playground private for residents only. They’re more than welcome in any of the other parks in the area that are paid for with our tax dollars. Also having a cantankerous old man outside of the park in his car turning people away is embarrassing.
