It's important to note that, as a small community garden, it does not typically offer facilities like restrooms, playgrounds, or concession stands. Its value lies in its dedicated focus on providing a serene, green, and comfortable place to simply be.
The West 87th St. Park & Garden, though modest in size, boasts several distinctive features that make it a cherished highlight on the Upper West Side:

These features collectively create a highly functional, beautiful, and peaceful outdoor space that stands out as a genuine highlight in the Upper West Side landscape.
As a public park and garden, West 87th St. Park & Garden does not offer commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional business sense. Its primary "offer" is its free and open access to the public. However, the value it consistently provides can be considered an ongoing "special offer" to the community:
- Free Public Access: The most significant "promotion" is that entry and use of the garden are entirely free of charge. There's no cost to enjoy its beauty and amenities.
- Consistent Comfort: It continuously provides a comfortable, quiet, and aesthetically pleasing outdoor space, offering consistent value regardless of the time of day or year.
- Uninterrupted Peace: Its consistent quiet ambiance is a continuous "special offer" in a city often defined by its noise, providing a rare sense of calm.
While there are no discounts or limited-time deals, the enduring value of the West 87th St. Park & Garden lies in its steadfast provision of a high-quality, accessible public space. Any infrequent events, such as the "music some weekends" mentioned in a review, would be more akin to community programming rather than commercial promotions. Information about such events would typically be found through local community board listings, neighborhood newsletters, or on-site notices rather than promotional advertisements.

West 87th St. Park & Garden Reviews
Tree-lined solace from the unending Rat Race through the Belly of the Beast. Potted flowers and a tended garden. Comfortable benches and picnic tables with parasols. The ivy growing up the walls rustles soothingly during slight breezes. Two pergolas shelter two of the benches.
Apr 21, 2024 · Daniel DonnellyBeautiful space with music some weekends. Just delightful. Thank you NYC and the Garden group.
Oct 16, 2024 · Shirley LongQuiet quaint clean and relatively unknown let's keep it that way. This garden has evolved over the years, some of its original charm has lessened. The climbing roses on one wall have been taken over by less interesting climbing foliage, the central fountain has been removed, probably due to some underlying issues, a beautiful fig tree has gone, although its young replacement will eventually fill the void. And a larger area has been devoted to a children's playground, useful, but less aesthetically pleasing.Still a pleasure to visit, of course. As a side note, the star of all NY gardens used to be St Luke's in the Village, now lost to development. So really happy some gardens of character remain.
Sep 07, 2021 · Andre TchenBeautiful, lush, and peaceful spot to grab a shady seat. The furniture is mostly plastic and old, but the park is otherwise great.
Jul 13, 2018 · Stephen MatzatSuch a lovely oasis to stumble upon across! A delightful book to just chill out, read, think, ponder.
