Akwaaba Mansion Reviews
The ambiance was warm, cozy and conducive to total rest, relaxation and rejuvenation. Randy, the Innkeeper, was extremely accommodating and prepared our meals with total tender, loving care. It was as if her heart was committed to her efforts being labors of love and not merely good customer service.I am looking forward to experiencing each of the themed rooms and eventually, all of the other properties.
May 26, 2025 · Michael JacocksWent there for a birthday gathering. Nice place, but definitely a bit outdated. Guess you would call it old world charm, but I prefer more modern accommodations. I just love that it's located in beautiful Brooklyn and black owned.
May 17, 2025 · Joyce CWhat a charming and unique place Akwaaba mansion is. From the moment you walk in, you are transported into another era! You walk through the hallways and find yourself wondering with each creak of the floorboard, what are the stories of those who walked these halls before you in the 160 years since the place was built. and of course being met by the warmth of Randy only added to the charm of the place. coming down every morning to the shared breakfast table, and meeting the guests from the other rooms was so lovely - having everyone coming from different backgrounds but being able to connect because of this special place. staying at Akwaaba mansion was one of the highlights of our trip!
Dec 16, 2024 · Yasmin ALovely restored home in great location convenient to subway, just a 5 minute walk. Great restaurants also in walking distance. The innkeeper, Randy, was charming and helpful. I was there several days and breakfast was superb every day. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and comfortable on my first trip to Brooklyn. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.
Nov 17, 2024 · Haze GreyWe had a fabulous time at Akwaaba Mansion! The location was perfect for us, but even if you are not visiting people in the neighborhood, it's a beautiful area with excellent restaurants, and the inn is a short walk from the subway into Manhattan. The room was lovely and beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, the large bathroom and tub luxurious, the common areas welcoming. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, and the atmosphere was homey -- our fellow guests were so friendly and interesting that we spent way too long at breakfast each day! Most of all, the innkeeper, Randy, was warm, gracious, and helpful -- she felt like a friend right off the bat. My only hesitation in recommending the place so highly is that it will become impossible to get reservations when we want them!
