Arlo SoHo Reviews
We stayed at Arlo Hotel during our NYC trip and had a really enjoyable experience overall. The location is perfect – just a short walk to the subway, which made getting around super easy. Staff were warm and welcoming, the lobby had a stylish and relaxed vibe, and the rooftop terrace was a great place to unwind when the weather allowed. Our room was clean and cozy, though on the smaller side (which is to be expected in NYC). The air conditioning was stable and quiet, and the water pressure in the shower was surprisingly good. We also appreciated having free access to Premier League matches on the TV – a fun bonus! There were a few minor things to note: one day the shower only had cold water, and housekeeping usually came around 4–5 PM, which was often when we were back in the room for a break. The blackout blind was a little damaged but still worked fine. The bed had a single large duvet rather than two separate ones, which may not suit everyone – and the duvet kept slipping out of the cover since it had openings on all sides. There was also some visible mold on the shower curtain, which definitely needs improvement. Also worth mentioning: the sink area is located in the hallway of the room, and the toilet has only a sliding door – so don’t expect much privacy if you’re sharing the room.We didn’t try the bar or restaurant, so can’t speak to that part – but overall, it was a comfortable and convenient stay. We’d happily return (hopefully with a mold-free curtain and a better duvet setup next time!).
Apr 18, 2025 · Kim André FinnsjøI stayed at the Arlo in SoHo during my solo trip in March and had a fantastic experience. The room was stylish, cozy, and perfect for a solo traveler. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, which made the stay even better. I spent most of my time exploring SoHo and the Financial District, and the hotel's location was ideal for getting around easily. I also had dinner inside the hotel restaurant and it was a cozy vibe and the food was delicious! Highly recommend!
May 22, 2025 · Allie LabzinPros:- Beautiful common spaces- Good locations- Comfy bed-Staff on last day were friendly , but earlier in the week less helpfulCons:- Finishing touches were lacking. There was caulking on the shower glass, and other imperfect aesthetic details.- Rooms seem to need a bit of maintenance / improvement . Example: I stayed in identical rooms (minus the view). One had a side table, the other did not.One had an additional safety lock on the door, the other did not.One had a Google sleep sound machine, and the other did not. This seemed like a lack of upkeep vs intention.-Rooms are small.-Price is high depending on the season.-missing items like coffee for free -> which are expected for a 4 star. They offer other things like a gym membership etc , but I didn’t make use of it to reviewOther:- I had both a courtyard facing and a city facing view while here. I preferred the courtyard.-They do have a luggage weigher if you ask-Coffee for purchase was good, but odd there wasn’t free coffee in the room.
May 11, 2025 · SavannahWarm service, perfect vibe – and the best coffee in NYC!We had an amazing experience at Arlo Soho – everything was just perfect. The staff was incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming. Special thanks to Kayla, the front desk manager, who went above and beyond to make our stay feel personal and comfortable. The rooms were clean and cozy, the vibe throughout the hotel was warm and inviting, and the coffee in the lobby? By far the best coffee we had in New York.Highly recommended – we’ll definitely be coming back!
Apr 17, 2025 · A MorI had a nice stay here for a work trip recently. The staff are all so friendly, I was checked in by a lovely woman (didn't catch her name but she had curly dark hair), and Al made sure I had all the information I needed when checking out. My Queen City room was on the 10th floor which had a great view. The room was cosy but fine for one. It was a bit noisy at night with some loud banging from the pipes at points which woke me up, but I soon got used to it.I would like to flag a negative experience with the room service on my final day, which is the reason it's not a 5 star review. I ordered from the QR code in the room which goes to Lindens restaurant downstairs, as well as the bodega, however it's done through Door Dash as a third party which was a bit of an awkward customer experience. I ordered a plant-based sausage egg and cheese sandwich, but they brought the animal product version, which was really disturbing as I only realised when I took a bite. I understand these things happen, but it just showed a lot of carelessness. The smart thing to do would be to have some sort of difference in ingredients, price, or name for the two meal options to differentiate the vegan version from the meat version. My dietary restrictions are very important to me and the fact that care wasn't taken to double check my order was very upsetting, especially as I gave a good tip. The staff at Lindens were apologetic and refunded the sandwich of course, but to be honest that's the least they could do.Other than that, my stay was great and the location is perfect for getting around Soho and seeing the river views. I felt safe as a solo female visitor.
