Hotel Hugo Reviews
A great hotel in a nice quiet neighborhood. Close to subway/buses and lots of restaurants and music/comedyclubs (10 min walk).Had a deluxe kingsizebed room either a view over Hudson. Great room with lots of space for our suitcases. Large bathroom and good smelling schampoo/lotion. Overall a very nice room.Hotel has a very nice and polite staff that helps you with all your questions. The coffeeshop offers free coffee so that’s a plus.Rooftop bar also great drinks and service (happy hour almost every day).Yes they take resortfee (which most NY-hotels does)and a deposit for 100 dollars/night (you get that back). And they clean the rooms later than we are used to.Stayed for four nights couldn’t be more happy with our stay!Great hotel
Apr 24, 2025 · Fredrik GustafssonWas just there last night,10 years ago I was a local in the neighborhood and saw the Hotel Hugo being built, so having to be back in the Hudson Square for the day, I picked the Hugo and I was absolutely not disappointed! From Dylan at the front desk who checked me in, to the doorman and my lovely dinner server, if I’m correct, his name was Mark,I was provided a wonderful welcome.Had dinner at the rooftop, the halibut tacos were so good I repeated the order.Drinks were also great in the lovely little corner they sat me, with that beautiful downtown Manhattan background while listening to a class.I really recommend The Hugo. And when there, I also suggest going around the corner to The Ear Inn, a historical NYC landmark and pub with great food, drinks and staff!Thank you Hugo Hotel for the hospitality, no issues checking out either, the front desk gentleman was also so very nice. Please forgive me I didn’t get to ask his name for I was half asleep being so early in the morning.
May 23, 2025 · Camila CamposI stayed at Hotel Hugo in the Hudson Yards neighborhood of NYC in February 2025. One of the selling points of this hotel for my trip was the Double - Double options, allowing for up to 4 guests per room. This was perfect for a girls weekend, and would also accommodate families well. Rooms were spacious (by NYC standards), very clean, and updated. The biggest surprise about this hotel is how QUIET the property is! For NYC we couldn't believe how little street noise, or even interior noise there was. Our room looked right out over Greenwich Street and we were never disrupted by city noise. The location is phenomenal, providing walking distance to both Soho and West Village. There is a cafe on the main level that offers complimentary coffee, iced coffee, and iced tea to guests during their stay. We also took advantage of the full cafe menu several times throughout our staying, and all the food was great.Another main selling point for this property is the fully enclosed rooftop bar, offering Hudson River and city views. This was such a fun option at night! We loved our stay at Hotel Hugo, and I definitely hope to be back.
Feb 20, 2025 · Connie NorwellGreat place to stay. We were in town for a Cheerleading Competition and wanted to stay away from the mass cheer crowd. This was absolutely perfect. Onsite valet parking, but you really don't need it. The staff was friendly and even helped wrap our luggage while it was raining to be safe in the bed of the truck.
May 21, 2025 · Austin MeyerA Disappointing Stay with Some UpsidesThe biggest issue? NO HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER. After a long day, a hot shower should be a given, but not here. When I brought it up to the front desk, I was met with a shrug and a casual, “Yeah, we’ve been hearing that from a few guests.” No real effort to fix the problem, which was frustrating. The rooms are incredibly small—definitely not ideal if you like a little space. Privacy is also lacking; you can hear your neighbors, the elevator constantly dinging, and doors opening and closing all night. As for the view? Mine was a brick wall, so don’t expect much there. On the plus side, the hotel was clean, and its location near SoHo shops was convenient. But overall, for the price, I expected better. There are likely better options in the area that offer more comfort and a more attentive staff.
