Aura Hotel Brooklyn Reviews
A Terrible Experience – Please Think Twice Before Booking HereI never imagined that our family trip could turn into such a distressing and frustrating ordeal. After traveling a long distance with our little ones, we arrived at the hotel only to be turned away at the door. Even though we had a confirmed reservation and had already paid in full, they refused to let us check in, and they offered no real explanation. It was shocking to see how dismissive they were, even after my husband tried to show them our confirmation and booking details.Feeling helpless and with two exhausted kids, we were left with no choice but to accept their offer to stay at a different hotel—the Brooklyn Hotel. Unfortunately, this turned out to be an even worse experience. They put us in a basement room that was unclean, with only one queen bed, despite our booking for two beds. When we requested a crib for our baby, they simply said they didn’t have one available and didn’t seem concerned at all about our situation. This entire experience left me feeling deeply disappointed and upset. As a mother, I felt our needs and comfort were completely disregarded. No family should have to go through this, especially not after securing a reservation. For the safety and well-being of your loved ones, I urge you to avoid this hotel at all costs.
May 27, 2025 · Esra YildizbasiTerrible Experience – Stay Away from This Hotel!Everything about this experience was absolutely horrible. Despite having a confirmed reservation, my family and I were denied a stay at the hotel in the middle of the night, leaving us stranded with my little kids and wife. The staff refused to provide a reasonable explanation for this, even after I showed them the confirmation number and booking details.I had already paid the full price in advance, but the hotel still refused to accommodate us and instead directed us to an even worse hotel (The Brooklyn Hotel), which was in terrible condition. They assigned us a basement room that was dirty, had only one queen bed despite my request for two, and lacked basic amenities. My one-year-old baby was with us, and they didn’t provide a crib or show any care for our needs. From start to finish, this was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. The staff was unhelpful and dismissive, showing no concern for our situation. It was a nightmarish experience, and I strongly urge everyone to stay far away from this hotel. For the safety and well-being of yourself and your family, do not book here under any circumstances.
May 27, 2025 · Abdullah YILDIZBAŞIPerfect location, quiet but convenient neighborhood in Brooklyn. Cute courtyard out back that’s private and front desk is staffed 24/7. Close to G and J/M/Z trains, Brooklyn waterfront and Downtown/Barclays Center. Definitely staying again.
May 28, 2025 · Aaron CaldwellUPDATE: After an email back and forth with management, we were not able to come to an agreement. I stand by my reviewTldr: I had a horrible experience booking with this hotel and would not recommend dealing with them. They are unapologetically unreliable.I booked my room a little over month before my stay. At about 4pm the day before check in, I received an email from the hotel telling me that the management company had changed and that my reservation would not be honored. I had already paid in full for the room and was told that I would have to contact my bank/credit card if I wanted my money back. This sent me into a panic. Less than 24 hours before check in time they email me to say my prepaid reservation is no good. Not even an automatic refund. Insanity.I called the hotel and they gave me no more information and offered absolutely no sympathy. They did offer to rebook my room at full market price. I decided in that moment to just do the rebooking because it was less than 24 hours before I left and I wanted to know I had a hotel room ready for the trip. The room was clean enough, but I will note that there was no TV remote and the TV wasn't hooked up to any cable/satellite service or anything. Essentially just a wall ornament. The room was also right off the lobby and not particularly quiet. On the day of check out I tried to talk to management about my check in experience again, but was stonewalled at the front desk and told that management accepted no responsibility and wasn't going to do anything to make up for the panic they put me through. They didn't even offer me surface level sympathy. This hotel may have been sold in between the time I booked and my stay, but I don't accept that the new management had no way of honoring existing reservations or contacting me earlier. There are plenty of hotels in Brookyln, don't waste your time and money dealing with this cruel management company.
Apr 26, 2025 · dank catfoodRoom service was great and when we needed spoons and things like customer service was on top of it. Location is close to two stops on the G. It’s quiet, clean and tho it’s not in the heart of downtown BK it serves your needs as a traveler looking for a reasonably priced, quiet, safe and clean place to stay in NY that is metro accessible and not too far from the action.
