DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown Reviews
My husband and I came for our Anniversary. We were initially shocked at how small the rooms were. The room the initially gave us had the TV almost coming off the wall, and the platform that the bed on was messed up. When I called downstairs Jose( manager)said that he would check us into a new room the next day with a view since we were here celebrating our Anniversary. We checked out of the first room, but the other room was not ready. So we left our bags and went about our day. Once we returned? The room was ready, and Jose sent us a bottle of wine and chocolates. This hotels customer service was top notch! Every one at the front desk was polite and friendly! The rooms were clean. The location was perfect. Not to busy luke Times Square, and close to the subway and many attractions. I would for sure stay here again! Thank you again!
May 22, 2025 · Shonna JeffersonI came here with 2 of my mates for 3 nights. I had a great experience here at doubletree by Hilton. Reception is 24hrs here. They have a shop right next to the reception, kinda pricy, but I mean it’s New York, what do you expect. Clean, tidy, nice view from our room, coffee, tv, shampoo etc. bed was also comfortable.Staff and cleaners were very friendly too.Breakfast was not included for us.They have a restaurant downstairs too.The location is brilliant, we are beside the subway station, the charging bull 🐂 and the Statue of Liberty 🗽. Everything is close by foot anyways. Lots of Irish bars near by too!!A chipotle right outside it too.I can’t remember what we paid, but it was the cheapest in manhattan anyways.I would recommend it!
Apr 22, 2025 · George PapazoglouIs near the subways, that would be all. There is no complimentary water by the way. The rooms are really so small and outdated. You can wait a really long time for elevators. Security is bad. You do not need the access cards to press the floor level in the elevator. The room service left the trash bag in my room. I think they don't mean it the bad way but still unprofessional. When i called the front desk, they dont feel apologetic at all. They also took off my bed cover (my own). No other hotels had done this to me before. My own face towel was thrown on the floor. lastly which is important, the safe box was opened on one of the days when i came back and i forbade any room service from then on. I won't come back here. The chamber maids just keep knocking at my door even when i told them i do not want room service.
May 27, 2025 · Marketing OnlineThe Good1. The price point is almost unbeatable.2. Nice staff3. Good cookiesThe Bad1. Don’t count on the elevators- multiple incidents waiting for 10-15 for a single elevator to arrive (typically already full)2. Stayed here for 3 nights and the maids only came once and they didn’t even take out the trash which had food in it.3. Thin walls, where you can hear a pin drop in the other room.4. Do not count on feeling clean here. The floors feel slippery and somehow dusty. Also, our shower door would not shut completely and drenched the bathroom floor.
May 04, 2025 · Connor MccormickI was traveling for work and stayed for 1 week. The location is great, close to the subway, and walking distance to many attractions. You enter the hotel on the ground floor and take the elevator up to the second floor for check-in or directly to your room if you check in through the app. The only complaint I had was the wait time to get an elevator, and they are pretty small. If people have luggage, only a few people fit in at a time. I timed how long it took in the morning to get the elevator from the 18th floor and it was an average of 5 minutes for the week, which I felt was long as you awkwardly wait outside someone's room because the hallway is so small. The room itself was a decent size for NYC. It was clean and had a desk and small fridge.
