While hotels are often thought of as destinations for out-of-town visitors, the Hampton Inn Manhattan/Downtown-Financial District holds significant appeal and suitability for New York City locals as well. Whether it's for a "staycation," accommodating visiting family and friends, or serving as a strategic base for specific local needs, this hotel offers compelling reasons for New Yorkers to consider it.
Firstly, its "unbeatable location" is just as valuable for locals as it is for tourists. For New Yorkers living in other boroughs or parts of Manhattan, a stay here offers a fresh perspective on the Financial District. It's an opportunity to explore the historical richness of Lower Manhattan – from the 9/11 Memorial & Museum and Wall Street to Battery Park and its ferry connections – without the pressure of a day trip. Imagine a weekend escape where you can truly immerse yourself in the vibrant history and modern energy of downtown, enjoying its "plenty of restaurants" and shops without the commute.
Secondly, the value proposition of the Hampton Inn is particularly attractive. The "free breakfast" is a significant perk, saving on the often-expensive cost of dining out in New York. For locals hosting out-of-town guests, recommending this hotel means their visitors get a comfortable stay with essential amenities covered, making their trip more affordable and enjoyable. If you're attending a downtown event, a special occasion, or simply want to maximize your time exploring the area without carrying bags, these conveniences are invaluable. The presence of a "small gym" also means locals on a staycation can maintain their routines.
Finally, the "safe" and bustling environment of the Financial District, combined with the "great" and accommodating reception staff, ensures a worry-free experience. For locals who might be less familiar with navigating downtown on foot or relying on its specific transportation links, the hotel's proximity to major subway lines, the Staten Island Ferry Terminal, and the Statue of Liberty ferry terminal simplifies exploration. The Hampton Inn Manhattan/Downtown-Financial District truly stands out as a smart, comfortable, and highly suitable option for any New Yorker looking for an excellent stay in the heart of the city's historic core.

May 20, 2025 · Rajesh KhatriOverall the room was nice and we found a good price compare to other hotels. Keep in mind that when you arrive they keep 50$ per night for any damages you may cause, but they returned it immediately after we checked out. I also think all the hotels in nyc do that. You also get a free breakfast, which is important, it was good it had everything like waffles, bagels, eggs and cereals, milk, coffee and fruits, nothing spectacular but good. The only negative thing was that our room didn't had any view and the window was too small. Financial district was safe and the were shops around that stayed open till late. At the morning it also had coffees and bakerys nearby. There is also a small gym at the basement. They also keep for free the luggage's after check out which is always a plus.
Jun 01, 2025 · Γεωργία ΦρυγανάNot the worst Hampton I have stayed in but definitely not the best either. Front Desk Customer Service was great and their improvements to the breakfast offerings since my last stay were good too. Where they were lacking is in housekeeping and maintenance. We stayed 4 night so housekeeping serviced our room just one time. When they did, they left some clean towels but did not remove the used towels. They also failed to refill the toilet paper and facial tissues which ran out before we checked out. This should not have happened. Maintenance was lacking in regards to the HVAC system. Some of their rooms were equipped with a portable unit that did not adequately cool the room. Others had the built-in system but was very noisy. Also, an out of order ice machine on our floor was disappointing.
May 08, 2025 · P19 57KTo the people complaining about cost, you should direct your complaints to whoever approves the tax structure in NYC!. The hotel is probably making less than the city is in taxes per night. This Hampton Inn is in a great location and has friendly people working the desk. No elevator issues which is common with many NYC hotels I have found out. Overall a great place to stay.
May 29, 2025 · Brady A.A little expensive but with excellent location in the heart of Manhattan. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Staff at the reception is friendly and they invited us in the Hilton loyalty program. Breakfast was included in the price - it is a standard American breakfast, with limited options as the usual case but it was fine. I would definitely stay here again.
