Hilton Garden Inn NYC Financial Center/Manhattan Downtown Reviews
I think the service is the best compared to other hotels and because of that, I do give it a 5 stars! Shout out to Victor for being an amazing front desk staff! He helped to loop our reservations together so we didn't have transfer rooms. Heidi is also an amazing professional! Also a big hat-tip to the rest of the service staff, who have all been fantastic, including housekeeping. I wish the rooms and the halls were better ventilated and more spacious and modern but despite that, the staff were fantastic!
May 13, 2025 · Shelley CAs longtime Hilton Honors members, we’ve always booked our stays directly with Hilton. On one occasion, for a last-minute trip, we found a significantly better price on a third-party site. Before booking, we checked Hilton’s Price Match Guarantee and saw that they offered it. We carefully read the terms and conditions and confirmed that we met the requirements—everything was very clear. We called Hilton to request the match and were strung along for over an hour. Eventually, the representative told us they couldn’t get authorization to approve the match and transferred us. The next person’s system "went down" after about 20 minutes, and they hung up on us. We called back again, and after another 20 minutes, we were told that price matches couldn’t be approved over the phone—a direct contradiction of what the first agent had said. Then, we were transferred again to yet another department, where the agent couldn’t understand that a website might have a domain ending other than ".com."When we finally got to discussing the actual price, they began backtracking and claiming that the terms didn’t permit it. When I pointed out that I had read the terms, they responded that they were working off “different documentation.”As a small business owner who goes out of their way to maintain goodwill with long-term customers, I’m done. I’ve wasted hours trying to follow the rules of a so-called guarantee that seems designed not to be honored. I will now share this experience with anyone considering this hotel chain.Ironically, they just posted a cut and paste reply below. So, they want me to waste more time to call them? This is not a solution. If they cared they would look at the screeshots and make a decision right here to demonstrate some accountablility, but that won't happen.
May 29, 2025 · Michael MeehanLocation-wise, very convenient and quiet during the night. We first stayed here in 2023 and enjoyed our experience, so we booked it again this year. However, I was disappointed this time. While the front desk were very friendly and accommodating, the quality of service had taken a sharp decline. We asked the staff to relay to housekeeping that we needed fresh towels daily, and we almost never received a full, clean set. The sheets were coming off the bed upon our arrival, and the shower was not very clean. The water pressure in the shower was also shockingly weak. The housekeeping staff did not speak any English, so even communicating with them to get an additional towel proved to be a challenge. However, asking them directly proved to be beneficial, as it seems the front desk were not relaying our messages to them. Overall, we may splurge for something nicer next time, it seems that the quality is not what it used to be.
Mar 27, 2025 · Yiqun WangThis hotel is great for the location. Looking at the sunrise and sunset is so beautiful. The room is on the smaller side but it's NYC plus it was very reasonably priced so that was okay to me. I didn't like how the bathroom didn't have actual doors just a slide door but it is to save space. The staff was extremely nice, they let me check in early as well. The food on the 2nd floor is delicious and had a great experience with them. I felt safe here, transportation close by. I would definitely come back here.
Mar 01, 2025 · Celi ZWe had a recent 5-night stay and overall this hotel was quite good. Only complaints are within the room itself: bathroom sink faucet was annoyingly “sticky”, to the degree it was herky-jerky and difficult to turn on and off. Maintenance looked at but could not fix. Also no exhaust fan in bathroom and barn door to bathroom doesn’t close completely. But bed was comfy, tv worked well and view of the Battery, Staten Island Ferry and water were pretty nice. Easy access to subway. This is a quiet location south side of financial district. Hotel breakfast was quite good (order off menu at kiosk - no buffet germs to deal with).
