Aug 25, 2023 · Myron TOn our random visit, entrances to the Lambert Castle and Tower were closed, but the road was open. We were able to admire this lovely structure from outside. Our intention anyway was to go hiking. That was accomplished. From the area of the tower, which sits higher than the castle, some panoramic views can be seen ofthe surrounding cityscape. You can also find other hiking trails that lead you further along the hilltop.A perfectly beautiful day also makes this spot...- lovely for a picnic- picturesque for a photoshoot- ideal for a background in your vlog- an escape from the noise of a busy week- nice for a nap or daydream- sweet for something romantic- zen for meditation
Oct 31, 2023 · Jo V.Easy to moderate trails. Snow after storm prevented hiking group from walking them Sun. So just to get in some steps we walked all around the road loop. Wish I had my snowshoes, lol. The Tower and museum are closed due to Covid.
Feb 08, 2021 · The Great ArtisteThe Lambert Tower is a special little historical monument hidden away at Garret Mountain Reservation. Apparently, the structure dates back to the Revolutionary War. The views are fantastic. There is a short, rocky trail that provides beautiful views of surrounding North NJ and NYC in the distance. It’s really a place you could just sit and look at the horizon for hours. Being in the reservation, there are also plenty of trails for walking. This place is definitely a must go in North NJ if you’re looking for amazing views. Bring your camera!
May 17, 2021 · Jacob HessLambert Tower once used as lookout by the military to spot out enemy aircraft during WW II. The tower was closed on the day of my visit. I hope to climb it next time.
