LDV at The Maidstone Introduce
Located at 207 Main St in the renowned village of East Hampton, New York, LDV at The Maidstone positions itself within the vibrant "Scenic Spot" category of platform offerings. This establishment serves as a hotel in a highly sought-after destination, aiming to provide accommodations and related services for visitors to the Hamptons. Given its address on Main Street, it is centrally situated, offering guests direct access to the village's unique atmosphere, including its upscale boutiques, art galleries, and dining establishments, all of which contribute to the 'scenic' and desirable nature of the location.
The environment of LDV at The Maidstone, as an older property in a historic area, suggests a certain charm and character often associated with East Hampton. While specific details about its architectural style or historical background are not provided, its presence on Main Street indicates a quintessential Hamptons setting. The hotel aims to blend into the local aesthetic, providing a sense of place that aligns with the upscale, leisurely environment of the Hamptons. Being a "Scenic Spot" in this context implies that the hotel's location itself is a key draw, offering guests immediate proximity to the quintessential beauty and ambiance of East Hampton. However, based on customer reviews, there can be variability in the quality and comfort of the rooms. Some rooms are described as "much nicer than others," while "standard rooms are not great." There are mentions of a lack of "aesthetics" in the decor of certain rooms, with limited furniture. The presence of a room in the "attic" being described as "probably one of the worst king suites" suggests that the overall consistency of room quality may vary, impacting the guest's perception of the environment. The hotel also appears to experience significant seasonal variations in its operations and occupancy, with some guests noting they were "completely alone in the hotel" during the off-season, which impacts the overall ambiance and service availability.
Regarding services, LDV at The Maidstone aims to provide a hospitable experience to its guests. The contact information provided is (631) 324-5006 for phone and +1 631-324-5006 for mobile, indicating direct lines for inquiries and reservations. However, customer reviews present a mixed picture of the service quality. While "most of the staff is incredible," there are significant concerns raised about the hotel manager, who is described as "absolutely atrocious," "incredibly rude," and "not accommodating in the slightest." This manager's demeanor reportedly impacted guests negatively, leading to a "not so friendly desk manager" experience upon check-in, with a reported unwillingness to assist with luggage. A critical point highlighted by reviewers is the perceived lack of consistent service, with one guest mentioning that "no one is even at the desk" during certain times, and a sign instructing guests to call if they need anything. This suggests a potentially limited on-site presence, particularly during off-peak seasons, which might not meet expectations for a full-service hotel experience. While there's a mention of "great bartenders," indicating positive service in the bar area, this contrasts with the reported front desk and managerial issues. The lack of standard amenities like robes and tea kettles further points to potential gaps in the expected service level for a hotel in this category and location.
The features of LDV at The Maidstone, as implied by its designation as a "Scenic Spot" hotel, would ideally include amenities that enhance the guest's experience of East Hampton. Given its location, proximity to local attractions such as beaches, historical sites, and upscale shopping is a significant feature. However, specific in-room amenities are a point of concern based on guest feedback. Reviewers noted the absence of basic items like "robes" and "tea kettle or any amenities." Instead, "a pair of pajamas on display for purchase of $250" was observed, which might be perceived as a feature for sale rather than a complimentary amenity. The discrepancy between advertised images and the actual room appearance, with one guest stating their "room is nothing what it was advertised as in the images," suggests that the visual presentation of features might not consistently align with the reality. The hotel does have a bar, as evidenced by the positive remarks about the bartenders, which is a feature that contributes to the social aspect of the hotel. However, the overarching theme from the reviews is a lack of expected hotel "service...what so ever" and a perceived absence of staff presence, which significantly impacts the perceived value and quality of features offered.
From a promotional standpoint, LDV at The Maidstone, as a "Scenic Spot," would likely emphasize its prime East Hampton location, its connection to the local culture, and perhaps its unique style. Marketing efforts would typically highlight the allure of staying in a historic village like East Hampton, with easy access to its attractions. The positive remarks about the bartenders could be leveraged to promote the hotel's bar as a welcoming spot. However, the overwhelmingly negative customer reviews regarding service, room quality consistency, and perceived lack of amenities present significant challenges for positive promotion. The advice from a recurring guest to "Go for the great bartenders, but don’t stay here" directly undermines the primary service offering of accommodation. Similarly, the statement "Will not be coming back" from another guest indicates a strong dissatisfaction that would be difficult to overcome with standard promotional tactics. Any promotional material would need to carefully address these known issues or focus on aspects that are consistently praised, such as the bar experience, while working to improve the core accommodation and management services. The address 207 Main St, East Hampton, NY 11937, USA, and phone numbers (631) 324-5006 and +1 631-324-5006, remain the direct channels for potential guests to contact the establishment, though based on reviews, guests might approach with caution.

LDV at The Maidstone Reviews
I have stayed at the Maidstone 8 times during the off season from November of 2024 to April of 2025. While most of the staff is incredible, the hotel manager is absolutely atrocious. Incredibly rude, spoke down to my husband and I, not accommodating in the slightest. The rooms vary, some are much nicer than others but the standard rooms are not great. Multiple times there were empty pizza boxes and trash left in the rooms from the previous guests. I was completely alone in the hotel many times (I don’t even think someone was there overnight as there was just a sign at the front desk that said call if you need anything). Go for the great bartenders, but don’t stay here.
May 24, 2025 · Elizabeth StoneHonestly, I rarely write reviews but this was a bit of a disappointing stay. First, we were greeted by a not so friendly desk manager, who checked us in and wasn’t even going to help me carry my suitcase up 3 flights of stairs (I had just had surgery or I would have done it myself). Our room was in the attic, mind you no one else is staying at the hotel since it’s not the right season for visiting, but we were still put all the way up in probably one of the worst king suites. The decor was nothing but a few furniture pieces with no aesthetics. There are no robes, but there is a pair of pajamas on display for purchase of $250. There is no service at this hotel what so ever. No one is even at the desk.No tea kettle or any amenities and our room is nothing what it was advertised as in the images. Will not be coming back.
Mar 19, 2025 · Francesca Grace HomeI was sceptical after reading the reviews. BUT, new owners and managers turned it to a stunning top star Hotel. Rooms are tiny, yes, but gorgeous. The service is outstanding. So much detail to high quality products like GHD hair dryer and Steamer in every room. Wonderfully smelling bath products, the food, 5 stars. Can highly recommend. And a Gucci Airstream with FREE coffee. Wow! Just incredible.
Jun 23, 2024 · Dom HeinrichWe had an amazing stay at the Maidstone from the service, to the food, and accommodations. The location was perfect for our work trip as well as shopping. Highly recommend and we will be back!
Nov 15, 2024 · Paige LoperfidoVery disappointing. Restaurant promotes outdoor garden restaurant. We had a confirmed outdoor reservation and were offered a table in the entranceway. Hostess said it was outdoors so complied with reservation. Not exactly elegant. We rejected the table and dined in one of the better Hampton restaurants.
