Millennium Downtown New York Reviews
i was wary reading reviews, but had a surprisingly good stay. AC was working in our (renovated) room, but i did notice some cracked windows on another side of the building. absolutely no city noise on the higher floors as well. room was nice and had all the essentials, clean and modern. view was amazing facing the river and directly above the oculus, along with a ton of metro stops nearby. there is renovation but it didn't get in the way of our stay, they started at around 11am which is checkout time anyways. elevators were a bit rickety but otherwise everything was nice. make sure you get a renovated high floor room though, judging by reviews. service was good as well and no hassle. would recommend :)
Apr 21, 2025 · owenWe were nervous about staying here after it was recommended by someone and the reviews were terrible. Our renovated room was wonderful! A/c worked great, clean, quiet room, and the corner view was awesome!Cons: hotel accidentally charged an extra $935 dollars to my card that took a week to return+multiple phone calls. Also check your bill for the added charity charge. One staff member tried to give us the run around on the extra charges when another was honest and said it was a mistake. “Couch bed” uncomfortable. If we didn’t have the extra charges, it would have been 5 stars no problem.
May 21, 2025 · Lindsay SmoakI would advise all looking to patronize this business to look over reviews on Yelp and Google. This place is low rated for a reason and if I would’ve noticed them before booking I would’ve stayed elsewhere. Location was great and bellman were nice and welcoming. Upon checking in I heard a customer complain about being locked in the elevator so they were upgrading them a room. Check in was on the fourth floor and I was told after arriving at 9:00 am that if I wanted an early check in, it would be an additional $150. Room had a noticeably unwelcoming smell, same trash was noticed through the hallway our whole stay which lead me to believe cleaning wasn’t happening. Bathroom wasn’t clean and shower head was disconnected from the wall, a few candy pieces were stuck the floor near the heater probably from the last visit. I called downstairs for a blanket to be brought up and it took an hour and I had to call back down before receiving it. That was at 2/3 in the morning! Unexplained charges for a charity was added into my bill and I had to have it removed , as it said it was optional but it was already there. Dusty air vents, my son with had to use his pump twice, couch was stained.. I wouldn’t recommend.
May 12, 2025 · Reena MaconI don’t know if they changed the management but I had the worst experience this time.Pros:The Hotel view is amazing, the location is very convenient and there are multiple subway options very close by but…Cons:Some people working at the front desk didn’t know what basic customers service is, while maybe two people of the many receptionists that I saw, were accommodating.I’m a flight attendants, I know that working with people can be stressful and all, and I see thousands and thousands of people every day and I don’t know, it might be a character thing… but I could never act the way some of your employees were acting.I opted for an inclusive breakfast (paying more)and nowhere it was noted that the hotel does not have a restaurant and breakfast was to be ordered the night before and 30 to 45 minutes to get it after delivery time even though they asked you for the preferred time it would always comes late so don’t make plans, and delivered in paper bags to be consumed in room where 3/4 of the items were missing and they still wrote it down in the recipe. It should have been well advertised what one gets by paying for "breakfast included" option and for us was bread, few yoghurts, coffee and eggs if lucky because even tho we were in 4 there was a breakfast only enough for 2 so you would end up eating in some cafeteria around the city since even with their second option at the lobby entrance, it supposed to be open at 6am but they ran late, if you want to eat something before heading you can’t and it was always almost empty and you would get what you see or nothing at all and it was an annoying experience since we had to pay 45$ per person for breakfast and received nothing. And for your information It’s not renovated but under construction and since it's not renovated, there is no restaurant or market like they show on their site and there are lots of noises.Just because I wanted a “walk down the memory lane” moment I did not check before booking how it was going in the last years and if I’ve done it, i would’ve stayed elsewhere so if you only want a nice view it’s fine but if not… don’t lose your time, they don’t even take in consideration what people reviewed and their response to this one probably will be “The team is looking into these issues to improve future experiences. Your insights are valuable in helping the team enhance the guest experience.”Don't be tricked by the location and ask for an itemized list of charges at the end of the trip, because they also overcharge you with things you don’t know the existence of it.
May 22, 2025 · Khady SeckStayed here for the weekend and it was amazing. The area was great, there were many restaurants and places to visit nearby. Rooms were clean, just wish waster was a bit more accessible but overall amazing. Would recommend this place to stay at if you’re coming to NYC.
